Cause there’s a lot of pop elements on the album, including the chorus on this. I don’t mind it, but at the time it made people write it off as Em just selling out.
Because he went from being anti-pop culture to having generic sounding top 40 songs. It's not bad but it was a big jump from what everyone knew him as at the time
It is a badass song that shows where ems head was at that time of his life maybe still struggling in that mindstate. Its dope the way he paints that picture for us to see.
Btw, Eminem just recently got inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in October (there’s an official video out where he performed some his his greatest hits and did a speech as well as Dr. Dre)
ever since I found your reacions of Em I've been watching them all. I looked for the "Kill you" react but there was none. YOU HAVE GOT TO DO IT. you won't regret
Please REACT to Eminem "My Name Is" or "The Real Slim Shady." The videos/songs are both CLASSIC, FUN Eminem. Each the lead single off his first 2 major label albums.
Once you finish going through recovery album, go to the best Eminem album. The Marshall Mathers LP, from front to back hands down the greatest album. Also ‘right for me’ is an insane lyrical masterpiece that you need to listen to
Imo MMLP does have a couple tracks that aren't like.. Great. Always felt TES is a bit better. Both are great but there are a few tracks on MMLP that I would skip unless I'm in a specific mood for them. Can't say the same about TES.
They both are great albums classics imo. Each very important like all of his discography. To really understand eminem and learn about his history you have to start at the beginning and go through them all and watch the interviews and clips about him etc. He is one of the only artist in my opinion that you need to start at yhe beginning to understand whats what. I have always liked that damn near every album em changed his style and evolved even know he could of just stayed with what really worked and probably would of made more money but he dont do it for that anymore he could of quit back in 03 and been set, he really does need hip hop or he wouldnt be here or he would be a serial killer for real. I like all of his different flows but my favorite for me is when he started to get noticeably more technical and complex with MMLP2 i do agree with a lot of people that his simple flows and effortless flow and bars rhyme schemes are the best audibly sounding and more mass appealing for replay value, but i like the unorthodox and unpredictable flows and bars that most dont catch first listen. To me it is a puzzle to dissect.
The whole Austin Powers, Mike Myers, Verne Troyer, minime line were dope. Also, the part peeing in his corner naked thing. I think Verne Troyer was on some celebrity reality show and got super drunk and drove is scooter into someone's room naked and started pissing everywhere lol.
He mentions 'the slim shady EP', where he created Slim Shady, you guys should react to the intro of the EP then the song "my darling" from 'relapse', it's the story of shady
Brocks genuine reaction @ 7:21 to "Eminem backwards" is satisfying to see and reason why first reactions are gold. I've known this song for years and never seen or listened closely to the lyrics before. His reaction and mines were essentially mirrored.
Man I'm so glad you guys finally did this one! The bars in this one are extra tough to catch because it's full of contemporary references (not to mention the captions in the video you guys used were TERRIBLE). Terrible Towel (waved around by Steelers fans) Pryor (comedian compared to Mike Myers) Challenger (shuttle that blew up) Those are just a few I noticed. Don't blame you guys at all for missing them though. Not everyone can be a nerd like I am. Untitled is the last song off that album I'd recommend. It's full of more WTF lines. It's fun.
This album came out the summer before my senior cross country season and I ran almost exclusively to this. 10 miles a day 😂 my favorite Em album for sure
Love to hear you all react to Irish Drill Music. Dudes name is INK 86, and the song you should hear is 1. ''Bad Intentions'', and the second one is 2. ''The solution''. Much Love from Ireland!!!! A big fan.
this use to be my hype song, no one ever listened to it but it just made me feel unreal, made me feel the rage inside me like i can literally do anything
I got real excited about that "menime" line. And honestly your boy pointing out that, that was the actors name made it way more impressive. I didn't know that.
I’m a guitarist and gravitate toward rock, but my sister and I used to blast this entire album when it came out😌 I like this era of Eminem best…Not the upward inflection stuff he seems to always do now😳 And we are from Pgh so we loved this song😂Love the Terrible Towel reference❤️(and ketchup…Heinz? Think it’s another great link!)
I hated this album when it first came out but over the years of listening and watching you guys react to every track made me realize it might be one of his best.
On grammy's he also stopped getting nominated because he literally dissed them. Arguably MTBMB (Music to be Murdered By) should have been nominated for several Grammy's but got 0 nominations because Em had burned that bridge. And A LOT of the time you actually need to pay to get your songs and albums nominated if you're not "in" with the Grammy crowd. But there's no denying MTBMB was a great album, it was better than some of his past works that actually won those awards lol. So... Yeah.
He's used David Carradien in a few songs. One you just reacted to. He's Bill in Kill Bill. The Royce and Em track Welcome to Hell. Starts with the Bruce Willis line and talks about David and ends with I Die Hard.
The boxing scheme he did in this one was legit. "Champ. Challenger. Gloves with plaster. In his corner. Weight Class." Fucking insane. Wish they would have caught that one. They would have flipped out.
"These metaphors ain't similies ain't similar to them all" was such a low key bar he used a similie to describe how they're not similar aka not a similie
And I love how he is rapping in past tense like the last verse talking about being in dre's studio for the first time and how he was in the beginning and how he attacked everyone and there is a picture on the internet of em in the booth and dre on the board with his head in his hands like I can't believe this man is saying this shit this song is definitely one of his best ones
You see in the second verse he’s braking us words to form another flow ends it with “some are wrote on a napkin/ nap- can I do what I have to to win” fire 🔥
The part of that bar y’all missed is Verne Troyer was on The Surreal Life tv show and got super drunk one time, drove his mobility scooter into the gym room, and pissed in the corner of the room while sitting in his scooter still lol
All that austin powers scheme he also mentions michael myers before that from haloween. Mike myers is also the person who played austin powers, which mini me is also in
Fellas! Love the channel! It’s dope seeing the younger generation appreciate the previous generation of hip hop and sports..pop culture altogether. Keep it up! I see you all really digging Em and I have to point you guys in the direction of the D12 “Devils Night” album. Em is featured quite a bit and he was DEEP in his bag. Check it out and hopefully you’ll do a review. The track “American Psycho” will set it off. Stay safe and keep it up gentlemen 💪🏽
