"My Name is" (I think) is the first one he did, give that one a listen. Also I still say "Rap God" is one to give a listen to. And so you know, there's a bit in the middle of "Rap God" that you just gotta let run, trust me on this.
1) Skills 2) Bars 3) DRE You know that some industry beef generates intrigue, and brings people in. Like sports competition, trash-talk, all dat. Gotta have some controversy.
The intro is the "debut" of Obie Trice feat.Eminem - Rap Name , he was in the crew of D-12 (that we saw at the end of the clip). Dre is the one who "Made" Eminem so that's why we saw in many video clips these two.
MTV had this for one of their Making The Video episodes. They would feature a band or artist and how they made the music video. It was cool while it lasted. RIP OG MTV.
Eminem is a massive comic book fan with his collection rumored to be worth in the millions. Kris Kirpatrick of 'N Sync was the only "boy band" member to talk back after Em called them all out on another track. You will notice lots of his songs/videos have a lot of pop culture references to the time they were made. So if you didn't have a finger on what was going on, your gonna miss shit.
Lol...You grew up in the hood, but Eminem came from the hood of Detroit. His story is no different from anyone who is from the hood. He is a straight Battle rapper, and this is why Dre signed him. All of those people who was coming for him back then did not understand him, and some were haters because this white boy did it better than they did.
Oh they were big mad, trying to get him off air. I still have old XXL, the Source and such from 97-104 ish.. They burned his music, but the warnings on his disc's and he kept going. Lmaoooo
This is a slightly cleaned-up version the original version they say a few different things a little bit harder and it not exactly politically correct. They hide dimension of drugs and calling out people for their sexual preference. This one's almost as good but you got to have the ones with the original intent and language. I believe in unmitigated free speech.
There's just so much in the video, how could you ever cover it all? The lyrics straight up call out a bunch of people, but the video is saying so much more. I recognize so many things from that time period that Em's clearly calling out and parodying, but to go into why each one is a bar worthy shot would take so many comments.
Listen man Listen, Do this song first to break you in. The original version of Walk This Way off the 1975 Toys in the Attic album. Steven Tyler has got BARS...Then I will give you the next level stuff. Champ!
the Moby thing was probably the weakest, he was a hardcore punk musician in The Vatican Commandos in the 80's and went solo doing Techno later, he criticized Em's lyrics for the misogyny and homophobia while also praising his talent, never knew why Em brought it to the world stage
@@hazebruv no front from my side, i really like your content, but could not imagine that you did not listen to that one before, cause you could not not listen to that song back in 2002 if you at least once watched mtv, listened to the radio or went to a club or a bar during that year :)
I love your reaction/review! I also make music and would love if you reacted to it! I’m always dropping new music on a regular basis 😎 much love and blessings to you!!!! Keep doing your thing! 🙏🏾🙌🏾🔥
