Tbh though November Rain itself is a masterpiece and people love it more, for me though Estranged is a superior song in terms of the all round songwriting.

My friends uncle worked on that huge ship and watched a lot of the video shooting and made a picture together with Slash....which was a huge deal because back at that time GNR were simply the biggest band on the planet...

Man this really brings me back in the most amazing way. I have to admit, I did chuckle a little when you said something about him not jumping in the water, because that led to my favorite moments of the whole video - Axl with the dolphins, and then the pinnacle of Slash emerging from the water for that solo. From the moment I saw this video when it premiered on MTV to this day, that image has been cemented in my brain whenever I hear this song. Beautiful imagery. Guns N Roses were amazing for that, particularly with this trilogy of videos

The house in the police scene was Axls actual house, and the room he was laying down in during the scene was Dylan Roses bedroom. The scene and music was not sampled from anywhere, it’s all original. No stunt double, Axl actually jumped off the ship. I watched behind the scenes, and have heard interviews with the crew that were talking about it.

The Story starts off with Don't Cry, in that video an actual event took place. Apparently while dating Erin Everly one of the daughters from one of the Everly Brothers was dating him, and I believe broke up with him. He tried to kill himself and both Axl(bill bailey) and Erin Everly wrestled with the gun, she managed to get the gun away from him and he began to cry. She held him and told him, "Don't Cry tonight, I still love you" which is the Chorus line to Don't Cry. Something actually happened, and one of Axl's friends wrote a story about the 2 of them, fictionally of course. It goes like this. Don't Cry. Boy meets Girl, they're in love. Boy is starting to become famous, Girl watches as other Women start to want Boy. Girl breaks up with Boy, Boy tries to kill himself. Girl still loves Boy, but can't handle the situation. Boy becomes famous, but succumbs to fame. Eventually Boy dies, Girl is there at his grave Girl: Don't you cry tonight, I still love you baby. November Rain shows how Boy carried on, Through Fame & Fortune, finds love again. Loses another love, falls deeper into depression And Estranged shows how Boy couldn't cope. Boy's friends try to get him help, but Boy is alone. Boy finds clarity and basically takes his own life And in the end, his true love Girl visits his grave.
