While you’d be a fool to deny that this is an incredible song, I feel like Evanescence shines even brighter when you have the contrast of Amy Lee’s stunning vocals with a harder driving song like “Bring Me To Life” or “Going Under”.
I absolutely adore this song... and Amy Lee's voice is untouchable! And, although it shows him playing the piano in the video, she is actually the pianist.
The reason for that is that she’s the angel (the person who has past) and he’s the one thinking everything she is singing. That’s why he IS playing the piano in the video. That’s why she’s laying down and in white etc etc etc cuz like her voice she’s an angel is the video
The bridge between the 2nd and 3rd verses is the sadest emotion I know. "I tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone. But though you're still with me, I've been alone all along." Agony!
My gf died of breast cancer and this was her song. I held her thru all her tears and I held her hand thru everything, I can't hear this without crying😥
My friend died a few years ago he loved this song we always go to where his ashes are every year with my wife and friends, this reminds me of him 😢 lovely guy 💙
If you notice, in the video she never touches the ground. She hovers like a ghost (immortal soul) of a loved one that’s past. You should also listen to “Going Under”, “Bring Me to Life” and her duet with Seether, “Broken”.
@mspfinney I have a hard time interpreting lyrics sometimes but it seems pretty clear to me that she’s dead. The video seems to prove that too. She says “If you have to leave, I wish you would just leave, cause your presence still lingers here and it won’t leave me alone.” That sounds like a tortured soul wishing that her lover would just move on, so her soul can move on and be at peace. She says “These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real. There's just too much that time cannot erase.” Perhaps it was a suicide? Just speculating. But anyway, I agree that she seems like “supernatural” in this video.
@@durv13 Yeah I know, but Amy didn’t write the song. Ben Moody, who was in the band at the time and was the guy walking around in the video, wrote the lyrics when he was still in high school. And he said the lyrics evoke a spirit, but has nothing to do with God or religion. I believe he wrote the song around the time his grandfather died. And I’m sure Amy can relate because of her sister, who died and also because of her brother, who suffered with severe epilepsy his entire life before finally dying in 2018.
@@Whoopdido777 nahh its about her sister . read the lyrics . I'm so tired of being here Suppressed by all my childish fears And if you have to leave I wish that you would just leave 'Cause your presence still lingers here And it won't leave me alone These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have all of me You used to captivate me by your resonating light Now, I'm bound by the life you left behind Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me
She has one of the most beautiful and emotionally charged voices I've ever heard. She COMMANDS attention just with her voice. Super talented and beautiful voice.
As a long time Evanescence/Amy Lee fan, I must say I get a kick out of, and enjoy watching you guys seeing her for the first time. Yes siree, she will absolutely grab ahold of you, completely draw you in, and play with your emotions like few others do. Amy is something else, a real treasure.
Her voice is off the chain!! It is one of the most incredible voices I've ever heard ♥️🌷🎶 You can feel it in your soul...untouchable. I am so grateful that she shared her God given talent with the world 🦋
OMG I love this group you should listen to wake me up its sooooooooooooo good her voice is amazing. I sing and she is one of my favourites thank you such a great choice yet again. See how it got you pukka lol
I’m a little late to the party. (I’m on a JayveeTV binge) Amy Lee has such a prolific voice. My daughter and I were able to see her in concert with a full orchestra. My goodness how amazing that concert was. Thanks for the reaction Jay!
Not only is Amy Lee beautiful, her voice is beautiful, the lyrics, the way the music is arranged, but the thought that went into this video is so perfect for this song. Every shot would make the sort of still photograph you could frame and hang on a wall.
YES! Evanescence is my jam! Amy Lee will forever be one of the best vocalists of all time! Everybody's Fool, Bring Me to Life, Broken, Going Under, Call Me When You're Sober, Lithium, Lost in Paradise! Check it ALL out, you won't regret it!
Evanescence really helps me during my dark times. Some of her songs hint some things that I may feel which makes me feel like she’s saying I’m not alone. The saddest song I’ve heard from her was “October” and the-lyrics that hit me. *Constantly ignoring the pain consuming me, But this time it's cut too deep. I'll never stray again.*
Amy was 6 when her little sister who was 3 died from a sudden illness. All those kids playing around her and her breaking down in that climbing tree. no words.
My fiancee fought depression and we were each other's touchstone. Two months before our wedding, he was mugged and killed three blocks from our house. This song will always be so very emotional for me.
Amy Lee is without a doubt one of the more talented vocalists out there. The best way for me to describe "My immortal" is "haunting". The way her voice pierces your soul and how the lyrics capture the raw emotion of a failing relationship is almost too much for human emotions to endure. She brings you to the edge of that breaking point and dangles you there until the end of the song. You should check out her duet "Broken" with Seether. It's mind blowing.
