Jacoby stated in an interview they were looking for a remix/reimagined version for the past few years and Ronnie delivered it un mastered to Jacoby and he LOVED it. So it’s a few years in the making.
Last Resort was my smashing my head into the steering wheel headbanging while driving down the highway song. Love it. Thing is, which I didn't realize until this reimagined is that I never REALLY payed attention to the words. I knew them but it's like they just slid off the surface of my brain. The way it is presented here made the words sink. What an incredible job.
*To me, when Papa Roach did this amazing song, it went out to teenagers feeling pain and anger they didn't know what to do with. It was an anthem for the lost and rebellious. Ronnie's version is more for the broken adults still trying to heal.*
That woke up a lot of how i felt growing up in the 1980's listening to phil colllins and 38 special, styx, we even had freddie mercury and B52's. They gave us a way to figure out things. I have to ask what the heck are the kids feeling now for their soul to be so broken they give us THAT. I love how he showed what they are doing in their brains but not all the hate and discontent for others they give people.
MELLO!! You and your energy have been missed! This song makes me cry, almost uncontrollably, every time I hear it now... I keep trying not to but it doesn't work. I don't recall ever hearing the original, until this one was released.
@MelloReacts YES! My son said it was iconic to him as a teen and that I should listen to the original first. HUGE difference! I can see why it was such an iconic song when he was a teenager, but I prefer this version over that. My son and I watched this together when it was released and waited for Ronnie to go hard because he usually does, lol. Young man (32 yrs old) was speechless through the entire song, then said, "I thought he was gonna go hard, but I'm not mad. I CAN'T be mad at that. WOW!" I believe he was a little teary-eyed, too.
I recommend making a reaction to one of the best vocalists in the world. Meet Diana Ankudinova! Diana has the title - Queen of Goosebumps. Challenge yourself, can you resist the charm of her voice? One of the last comments about Diana's voice: Pffff.... her voice is really very special, unclassifiable, atypical, out of the ordinary... 💖 1) super unique voice (dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones); 2) the most complex vocal techniques, a bewitching voice; 3) Diana sings in 6 languages : English, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Arabic and any musical genre; 4) incredible charisma, artistry and living of any song; 5) a range of 4 octaves, which at the age of 20 is far from the limit and will continue to grow; 6) a large army of fans around the world; 7) an independent artist, without producers and labels, only with the support of fans and reactors like you; 8) more than 16 thousand reactions. Some reactions have 3.7 million views. The incredible fate of a girl found with a broken collarbone at a bus stop and ended up in an orphanage.

The original version of this from Papa Roach was the emotional outburst of a teenager fighting against something they didn't understand. This version is the desperate cry of an adult who has been fighting for so long they've realized its a fight they cannot win by themselves and they're pleading for help.
