When Foreigner tours, they ask a local youth choir to perform this and donate part of the ticket sales to a charity of choir's choice. That way they are showing what love is.
Hands down one ☝🏿 the best songs ever written, musically, lyrically, hard to find a better song. Foreigner has tons of good music.. Great reaction, ya’ll felt this one.
As Led Zeppelin dropped out in 1979, young, new 70s bands like Boston , Foreigner, Queen, The Eagles, Earth Wind & Fire. and on and on and on and on...well, I think you know where I'm heading. The Newbies were jumping from the heat into the fire because ABBA, THE Begees, Heart, Kansas, The Commodores, Prince, The Cars, the Police, Linda Ronstadt, Pat Benatar, ELO, Chicago...and on and on and on and another Looooong ride and they weren't about to give up their place at the table!
If you're over a certain age, this song gets sung at the top of your lungs. I once saw a whole hallway of teachers - and the janitor - belting out this song. 😂
I can imagine the teachers split evenly in the hallway with backs up against the wall while the janitor has the broom and is shuffling and twisting with dance steps down the middle as they all belt the song out 😂
This is my go to song when I was a teenager and it’s still my go to song, it’s the words just amazing. CLASSIC yes I wanna know what love is please show me.
This song was a absolute monster of a hit. A billboard number one of course sung by every major star at the time including Diana Ross at a live aid benefit with Patti labelle and George Michaels. It’s one of my all time favorites. That’s the New Jersey mass choir behind him
@ Patricia Taylor Thank you! I thought I was the only one to notice the copycats. One of them I almost watched because he had a black doo rag on his head just like the one Tim wears. I have to wonder was this done on purpose for that exact reason..to bait people into watching them by initially making them think they were clicking on the Twins. Well, it didn't work. And they have nowhere near the views the Twins have. So yeah, like M.C. Hammer said.. "They Can't Touch This!"
Finally, you have reacted to.Foreigner. Now you need to react to more of their songs: Urgent, Cold As Ice, Feels Like The First Time and Juke Box Hero - each song is different.
Foreigner! Great band from the 70s and 80s. It is great catalogue you got to get into. They have rockers like “Hot Blooded” and “Cold As Ice”, “Feels Like the First Time” and got great ballads like this song and “Waiting for a Girl Like You” they got some range! FYI: Lead singer is Lou Gramm.
Lou Gramm - one of the greatest vocalists ever, and he's an amazing person. He's been through so much. I love Foreigner; you definitely have to check out their 70s stuff. It's a travesty that this was their only #1 song. I love that so many comments mention the skating rink. This and Van Halen's Jump always make me think of skating.
@@marshill3101 I'm pretty sure he had a brain tumour but that was later in his life but he struggled with his voice etc for years because of neurological issues
Yep, at age 37 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor which was benign, but the removal surgery damaged his pituitary gland and caused him to gain a ton of weight and also affected his voice. I remember seeing a video of him singing Waiting For A Girl Like You, and it was the first I'd seen or heard him since all that, and he looked unrecognizable, and sounded so awful that I literally cried. It was really bad. I saw another video later on where he spoke of looking in the mirror and it was like looking at a stranger. I can't even imagine. He's worked so hard all these years to get his voice back; and while I don't think he'll ever sound exactly like he used to (some of that I'm sure is due to normal aging too, he's 71 now), he's not that far off.
The link between Foreigner + The Cars is Mutt Lange. He produced 4 with Mick Jones in 1981. In 1984, Thomas Dolby, who played synths in that album, sang She Blinded Me with Science with Mutt in 1982, + olayed synths in the 1983 Def Leppard album Pyromania, was in the house of Mutt. Ric Ocasek came by. The meeting led to Mutt Lange producing the album Heartbeat City with The Cars . From the tweet on the passing of Ric Ocasek in 2019. RIP.
@@madelinerojas2290 An incredible library of music. I try to think about which songs will help the twins get a lot of views and not just my favorites lol. As much as I love Depeche Mode I would never have even known about Love Thieves if it hadn't have been for me being the last person on earth to watch La Femme Nikita ( I assume anyone else who hasn't watch it also has no plans to do so lol)
@@coachhumph5524 Love Thieves is somewhat hypnotic with a sexy vibe. I am pro-La Femme Nikita, the TV show with Peta Wilson and Roy Dupois. I've seen all seasons/episodes 4 times since it first aired in late 90's. I highly recommend it.
Listen to "Women in Chains" by Tears for Fears. You'll love the singer, Oleta Adams, who sings with them. (Phil Collins did the original drum set on the album for this song requested by TFF, also.)
This song propelled Foreigner from being a top rock band of the late 70's and early 80's to a super group in 1984. The 80's were by far the best decade for music during the rock/pop era because of how many groups became super groups and/or super acts. I love your reactions! Here's more from the 80's that won't disappoint.... Prince -- When Doves Cry (the longer version has awesome music at the end) Simple Minds -- Don't You (Forget About Me) Motley Crue -- Home Sweet Home The Bangles -- Eternal Flame Depeche Mode -- People Are People
Twin mother here back again! Great reaction, I felt overjoyed watching you two listen to a great song, and what a message! Love that knows no boundaries, so poignant in today's troubles. This song was so meaningful and it built a bridge for people to come together. Real love is all we need. How we all feel inside is what we should pay attention to, not what someone else tells us! Stay real!♥️💯✌️
@@Julieroo28 I love Air Supply, but I don't know if we should subject them to that lol. My musical tastes range from Air Supply to Rob Zombie though, so who knows.
I love your channel. You're about the age that I was when most of the old hits you play came out. Your reactions, how you feel about them, how some of them touch you or rock you is just how all of our generation felt too. The world has changed so much since then, but music will always reach into our souls in the same way.
This is a great one! The chorus makes me think of “We Are the World!” From 1985 and was made to support USA for Africa. Written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and had the absolute biggest artists popular music at that time. There was a remake done after the Haiti earthquake. I think you will both love it!
