Man the fact that there is a whole generation of adults who don't know the gorillaz kills me lol. I made sure my kids knew. My daughter has been addicted to them since she was 4.
The whole song is a double meaning for me towards the goverment(the raping part) and our society. I could break this song down and explain in how many ways this song is our reality and i hope we teach our kids to not be useless in their future
@@chowplaysyt344 Sunshine, is a slang for lsd. When he says "Im useless but not for long" it means he may not be of much use at the moment (probably because he’s wasted), but he will be in the future.
Memorizing this song and knowing the exact part where he says "its all in your head" is awesone especially when seeing people react to it like this guy did
The fact that Del wrote this rhymes in 30 minutes at the end of making Delton with Dan the automated and he didn’t even want to do it. Now looking back it’s one of the greatest guest lyrics all time. Doesn’t matter how many times I hear it I still feel like it’s the first time.
They are worth checking out more! Feel Good inc, Stylo, Pac-Man, Saturnz Barz all bangers! Also the videos have a story/lore going on with these fictional characters.
His reaction is everyone's reaction when they first heard Gorillaz. So happy I was a teen/young adult in the 90s so I could live through all this great music.
Same. The popular shit is so mediocre/predictable/recycled now, more than ever. Most stuff is a sample or cover of some kind, or rip off. Or a pop culture zombie that blew up on Tik Tok. 🤮 or a slightly different version of the same trends/sounds… Not saying there isn’t still amazing music out here, but damn if it isn’t a chore digging through the crates and internet to find it. If Gorillaz came out today in the same way, I’d be so down.
Its crazy to think this was 90's, cause im a teen now but i still remember gorillaz as part of my childhood, and my friends too. (Well especially feel good but yknow)
Also the little kid is a girl, in the early days like in this video she’s 10 and she has aged over the course of their videos, which means she’s almost 32 now.
Your recognition of the Michael Jackson Thriller choreography starting at about 3:54 is pretty amazing. Very few people under age 40 would have made that connection!
“Fearless. Sensations that you thought was dead. No squealing remember that: It’s all in your head” Idk why they censored “it’s all in your head.” But it’s a very important stanza.
THAT is 'Del tha Phunky Homosapien'... 😎😎😎💯💯💯 The best MC that people have slept on since about 1989! FOR REAL!!!! 💯 The man is a MASTERCLASS on how to put words together and SURF a beat! 😎
In the UK even mainstream hip hop of the 90's-00's was considered obscure to most listeners so Gorillaz was a project meant to give American rappers a platform in the UK.
Damon Albarn is the main vocalist and for this version (OG) Del the Funky Homosapien the MC. The song is called Clint Eastwood and the group Gorillaz. Like someone else here pointed out they’re crazy diverse so you’ll most likely find some absolute bangers.
If you don't know the characters the big black man is Russel and the guy with sharp teeth is Murdoc and the little girl is noodle from Japan and the boy with blue hair is 2-d hope this helped boi
This song is has been termed a “frequent flyer” by Murdoc of the band and numerous artists have made their own additions to the song, including De La Soul, Del the Funky Homosapien (Original), and even Snoop Dogg
Appreciate the review, but you’re reacting to the video more than the song itself. This isn’t the kind of song you keep pausing; when I play this the whole car goes quiet, except for when everyone whispers “It’s all in your head” … This was a big part of the 90’s, I realize you’re young but trust me, this is known by most of the public and ALL of those people huddled around a sidestreet at 3am. A timeless work of art
Officialcamm: visibly enjoying the song Also him: visibly trying to comprehend what's going down in the video One final thing, I haven't seen anyone reply this so I'll say it: the final guy's name is Murdoc.
I am not worldly happy I am eternally, glad and filled with HIS Joy. I have the sunshine, the light of the world inside of me, although I am just a bag of bones. Hallelujah.
I have hard time believing a normal teen would never have even (heard) of the song before. 20 years is not that old. When I was 20 I had heard of most songs from twenty years prior. Especially a Grammy award-nominated group.
