Grace Jones is an artist you have to see perform live or watch her old videos to capture just how different she was from anyone else at the time..... listening to just an audio doesnt capture it......visually her videos were way ahead of her time.....She was the Missy Elliot of the 80s in terms of strange, different, creative videos.....great reaction
"If I don't give it, how you gonna get it?! 😄 Grace was telling her man that all his "tricks" are not going to work as she and she alone is in control of her body!
Grace was the first man or woman to sport the High Top Fade haircut. Yes, she is this eccentric. Before Madonna, Missy or Busta, Grace was the first to wear (when she did wear clothes at all) and make those outrageous fashions and videos. A true musical pioneer, PLEASE BELIEVE ME !!!
@@spicyhot2552 I think you misinterpreted his or her comment. They weren't saying that she was a man. They were saying the style of haircut she wore was before any other woman or man wore the haircut. She was the original before any man or woman sported the haircut, not suggesting that she was a man.
Eccentric no doubt.....but seriously Grace Jones was not the first person to sport the high top fade.....black people all over world were sporting that hairstyle in the 70s especially in Africa.....it might not have been popular like the afro but trust and believe Grace wasnt the first, ive even seen photos of people wearing that hairstyle from the 60s
She did some albums in the early 80's, Warm Leatherette - Nightclubbing - Living My Life - Slave To The Rhythm, that have all held up really well and I still go back to.
Grace was always eccentric, she can be described as bizarre, androgynous, scary, unique etc. but she's one of a kind, please react to her classics "Slave to the Rhythm", "My Jamaican Guy" long version, "Love On Top Of Love" remix, "Libertango" and the underrated "Victor Should.'ve been a Jazz Musician"...thanks JJ.
WOW I'm surprised you like this track by Grace Jones ..I was a kid when this came out my older cousin Patrice....use to love this song ..I personally like " I'm not perfect but "I'm perfect for you" by Grace Jones .
Grace Jones is art! She is iconic for being iconic. If you check out her videos like Slave to The Rhythm and I'm Not Perfect, you'll understand her as an artist. Other artist stole her art and tried to take credit, like Eurythmics, Lady Gaga, Janelle Monae and even certain things Beyonce did, although I'm not sure if Beyonce credited her or gave her homage, so I can't say Beyonce stole or tried to not give her credit.
A Djs Delight And A Rapper's Pleasure Man Listen I Used To Cut The Crap Out Of This Song lol The Fabulous Talented Grace Jones ahhh ❤ yes yes😘 Aye You Definitely Have To Listen Slave To The Rhythm it's certainly a Jamm 🔥🔥🔥
The entire album Living My Life is absolutely excellent. Not a bad song on it. Second only to My Jamaican Guy there isn’t another song which can take me right back to a time and place (1983, the state nightclub in Liverpool)
JJ....what she is talking about in the lyrics is her man mentally abusing her and acting childish...."won't give in and I won't feel guilty....rant and rave to manipulate me"....."from the nipple to the bottle never satisfied" ..her man acting like a child......"from the nipple to the bottle now the cow must die"...no more milk for the spoiled child as her man.... "Ain't gon give it, you ain't gon get it...If I don't give it, you ain't gon get it".....you acting up so no sex for you....🤣
