My favorite wu tang solo album. Arguably best solo album ever. The cuts on this by the RZA and this whole album is perfection

GZA’s Liquid Swords definitely has a winter time type of vibe just like Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx has a summer time type of vibe. Ironically Liquid Swords was released on November 1995 and Only Built 4 Cuban Linx was released on August 1995.

GZA giving you a cold vibe is actually intended. This was actually the more serious album compared to the initial Wu solo albums. The subject material from the beats to the lyrics was more political, intellectual,and serious than Tical,OB4CL,Return of the 36th,and Ironman.

You right about the atmosphere on this...you need to hear it all in one go, its amazing. My favorite track on this album is Investigative Reports, Ghost got an insane verse on that.

I'm sure you've been told that Liquid Swords is a Complete beginning to end masterpiece album. No song is "skip-able" lol. Gza lyrics and Rza production at their greatest level. Even if the album missed huge commercial success in its day, every true deep hip hop head has eventually discovered it over the years, and gave it that classic status.

Man...when you brought up how the liquid swords record gives you winter vibes...I was 15 when this came out and was probably the only thing I really had in my tape deck at the time. Oddly enough, I associate this record with winter time as well. Used to bump this snowboarding and walking to school in the snow. You should do the song LABELS by GZA. He uses rap label names to go at record companies. I recommend listening with lyrics so you'll see each label he name.

That Brilliant Cohesive body of work came out November 7, 1995 "Winter" I remember Upstate New York........., Mountains of snow, walking to high school wit the crew, Box in hand "Radio Player" Bumping Liquid Swords . That feeling,.......at that time, in that Season, This classical ambience "Living in the World Today" was the SoundTrack of my youth. It was new !......and never have we heard anything like it. I wasn't a fan of the GZA's first commercial drop "Words from the Genius", except Pass Da Bone. It's crazy how RZA's production can change the perception of a MC...hahaha I think RZA was actually on Pass Da Bone and probably produced it so it makes sense why I like it.

RZA had so sick fucking beats for the time but people sleep on how good WU really was. Their the reason I listen to rap music.

You said you reviewed cold world but I think you should also react to the video. I think the video is very crude and real. It was one of the realest videos from that era in my opinion. It was sort of like Impossible, made into video. It felt like some nightmarish in the ghetto and even hidding some sinister PTSD crime imaginary.
