She wrote it as a goodbye to her mentor and host of the self named variety show, Porter Wagoner. Elvis Presley wanted to record the song, but when Dolly found out that Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis's manager insisted on the publishing rights to every song that Elvis sang, she respectfully declined to sign over the rights. Dolly is an extremely savvy business woman, and a lot of people have made the mistake of underestimating her. The letter "ö" in Swedish is pronounced a bit like the "ea" in words like "earn" (but also like "u" in burn... it's a bit strange that words that rhymes in English have different spellings, isn't it?) So if you pronouced the "ö" like the "ea" in "earn", like imagine his name to be like "Grearnwall" it would be kinda close, not exactly "Grönwall", but good enough. Hope that helped a little, and will make you a bit more comfortable pronouncing his name.
