THANK YOU to all you Home Fries out there for dropping some knowledge in the comments!!! I think the next 3 will be: 1. Man of Constant Sorrow 2. Brothers in Arms 3. Skull and Bones As a veteran I’m super excited to hear #2, songs like these usually hit me different!! 🔥💙✌️

Once you do those, may I recommend Workin' for a Living because it gives you all their names at the start of the video (and is a fun song with an awesome Adam Rupp "nomonica" solo) and Something to Talk About to hear and see the new guy, Adam Bastien

1. You'll need to tape your mouth to keep your jaw from dropping. 2. Make sure you have tissue for the "allergies " that will arise from this one. 3. Dancing shoes, eyepatch, and grog required.

And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so doomed. We’ll save you a chair. You’re about to be buried in Home Fries. Brace yourself. Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks while they were scattered across the country. God bless ‘em. All the men can beat box, but Adam Rupp is in a league of his own. He’s a world-class vocal percussionist and there’re good reasons he’s called a “Freak of Nature” and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam’s incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete’s sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain’t Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer (sleigh bells? seriously?) or his drum solos. For more of Tim’s seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). This man’s range is incredible. You won’t want to miss his 5-octave run in 5 seconds in “Do You Hear What I Hear?” Tim also has a solo channel which you can view at www.timfoustmusic.com For Chance’s smooth baritone/bass, check out Skull & Bones, Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, Cover Me Up, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome... a basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow. If you enjoy sea shanties, you must check out Skull and Bones, the official video.. The folks at Ubisoft heard Home Free’s Sea Shanty Medley, and contacted them to write a shanty for their upcoming video game of the same name. Chance has a particular fondness for shanties, so this was right up his alley. Chance was formerly a member of Street Corner Serenade from 2010 - 2016 before joining Home Free in 2016 after the departure of co-founder Chris Rupp. You can find his solo work and collaborations at www.theadamchance.com For Rob’s soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) One Home Fry has described him as the vocal equivalent of a Swiss Army knife because of his versatility. Just wait until you hear him whistle! Rob and his friend Buegs host a podcast called “The Avid Indoorsmen” where they review movies, etc. You’ll find Buegs’ cameo in the Home Free video “The Butts Remix.” He’s wearing overalls. Don’t worry - you can’t miss him. You can check out their podcast at www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-avid-indoorsmen--3265024 For Austin’s soaring tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he’ll sing you right out of it.) Austin left HF in June 2024. He’s newly married, and hasn’t been at home for Christmas in ten years due to Home Free’s heavy touring schedule. There are hundreds of videos with him, though, so you’ll still run into his work. You can also check out his solo work at www.austinbrownmusic.com Adam Bastien stepped into Austin’s tenor spot in June 2024. He’s currently on tour with HF, and we finally got to hear him singing the lead in Something To Talk About. Home Free introduced him right. He debuted at the Grand Ole Opry with the Home Free men on June 22, 2024. He’s a fine addition to the band. So, yeah. Three of the five members of Home Free are named Adam. You’ll hear them referred to as “Chance,” “Bastien,” and “Rupp.” If they’re just using the name Adam, they’re talking about Adam Rupp, vocal percussionist extraordinaire. For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Life Is A Highway, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (The older video. Tim wrote the worst country song he could think of, and it remains one of their most requested.) A word about “Brother” - if you want to hear the lyrics, you’re going to have to listen with your eyes closed, ‘cause otherwise you’ll never get past the humor of the video to actually hear what they’re singing. For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam’s arrangement. Nothing else like it.) For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne. For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let’s Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female. The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie and Vincent with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, Delta Dawn with Brooke Eden, or Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For with Peter Hollens. Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you’ll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim’s mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You’ll need smelling salts after that one. Don’t miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they’ll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother, Life Is A Highway). And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’d been hit by the curse four times before I gave up and quit counting. I’m not the only victim of the Home Free Curse, either. Although their covers are amazing, don’t miss their original compositions. They range from the the poignant (So Long Dixie) to the patriotic (Land Of the Free). These include Dive Bar Saints (one of my favorites), Road Sweet Road, Catch Me If You Can, Lonely Girl’s World, The Stargazer Trilogy (Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies, MR), Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget, Love Me Like That, Skull And Bones, and many, many more. Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don’t just own a cover, they upgrade it.” You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.

Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, was the drums, castanets and waves in these sea shantys. They are acapella, but occasionally do use instruments, usually when they have a guest singer. Home Free is considered country acapella, but they also do doo wop, blues, folk, rap, popular and other genres. Adam occasionally will sing accompaniment without beatboxing (How Great Thou Art is an excellent example) and is a tenor. Tim Foust is their bass, but can also sing tenor, he has a 5 octave range, Adam Chance (Chance) is their bass/baritone but can also sing tenor, he has a 4 octave range, Rob Lundquist is a tenor, as is Austin Brown. Austin Brown was just replaced with another tenor Adam Bastien because Austin wants to spend more time with his new bride. They all can beatbox to a degree, as some of their videos will show. So Home Free has 2 bass, 5 tenors, and 5 beatboxers. That makes them extremely versatile as any of the 4 main singers can lead in a song.

They are acapella with beatboxer so it's all vocal. The bass is dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow. Everything they do is really good, their harmonies are amazing! They wrote a song for a game called Skull and Bones and their song is in the game, they have a couple of videos of it on their page, one is the game itself and the other is their video with them in it. You might want to check out the cover video "Man Of Constant Sorrow" as well, you will see more of their vocal harmony talents and the noises they make with only mouth and vocals.

I'm sure others will give you a better lowdown than I can, but basically the group (at the time) consisted of: Adam Rupp (founder member - Home Free have been active for about 24 years with a few changes in membership). In chronological order: Adam Rupp is the beatboxer and is an exceptional talent - his "drum solo" is unbelievable. Next comes Rob Lundquist - lead tenor. He joined in 2008. His voice is so versatile, country, r&b, gospel, pop and even opera. The third current member is Tim Foust who joined in 2012 - he's the deep bass you can hear and he can go sooooo looooooow, but he has a 5 octave range and can sing up in the rafters too. He has his own solo channel where you can hear his range in lots of doo-wop songs. He's the main spokesman for the group and MC for their concerts (read "parties". Austin Brown (high tenor) joined in 2013 - trained in musical theatre and his voice is just gorgeous. Austin left the group this year after he got married and has his own channel with his solo work on it - definitely worth a look! He was replaced by Adam Bastien and Home Free have two videos out in which Bastien is the lead. Finally, Adam Chance (known as Chance) joined in 2016 when the co-founder and Adam's brother Chris Rupp left to do other projects. Chance is the baritone/bass and covers for Tim when Tim leads, leading to added versatility. Home Free's channel is a very deep rabbit hole to go down, but it is worth it. Every song is just magic. Dive in!

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there with a 5 octave range & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This medley was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including sea swells & castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another. Most new reactors start out with "Man Of Constant Sorrow".

Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. I'm a new subscriber for Home Free. This is not usually the first song that people are introduced to Home Free with. They did this during the lock down and were in different places around the country when they recorded this. Check out their live version, it may be even better. The one dressed as Jack Sparrow is the bass you hear. They won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. Typically Rob sings tenor, Austin sings high tenor, Chance sings baritone, Tim sings bass and Adam Rupp is the beat boxer. But they have been known to mix it up. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries (Fans) will be there for you all the way. You must check out their original Sea Shanty "Skull and Bones."

Great choice for Talk Like a Pirate week. This went viral during lockdown. And led to the first singer, Adam Chance to write an original shanty for Ubisoft’s “Skull & Bones”. Ubisoft reached out to HomeFree for the theme song. Everyone assumes Rob, the big guy in the blue plaid is the bass, but it’s Cap’n Jack Sparrow. (aka Tim Foust) Check out Peter Hollens and Tim Foust’s version of “Misty Mountains” for a cool song.

Home Free is the real deal! They are an a cappella group (which means no instruments). They won the Sing Off in 2013 and have been going strong ever since. They did this song during the pandemic and it went viral and attracted the game maker Ubisoft to them. Ubisoft asked them to write a new shanty for their new game Skull and Bones. It’s a banger! There are instruments in the new shanty but usually they don’t use them. Their beatboxer is super talented and he was doing drums, castanets and water sounds here. The bass was the Capt. Jack Sparrow guy named TIm. Tim has 5 octaves so he can sing super low and then sing up with the tenors. 3 of them are also songwriters. They sing all genres of music. Try Skull and Bones (that Chance, the first singer wrote), In the Blood, Helplessly Hoping, I Can’t Outrun You. Enjoy!

Tim Foust (Fowst, rhymes with cow) is their bass. His range is impressive, from sub-woofer blowing bass to a very creditable tenor. Adam Rupp is their beatboxer/sound-maker extraordinaire who can also sing. Adam Chance is the first guy who sang. He's also got sound skills and a very respectable bass when needed. They call him Chance. Rob Lundquist is the bearded one. A man of hidden talents. He and Austin Brown (the sword-weilding tenor) have a must-see video, Two country singers attempt opera. Tears and goosebumps! Austin recently left the group, and they just got a new member, a third Adam, Adam Bastein. What are the odds?!! Takes some getting used to not hearing Austin's distinctive tenor, but this newest Adam will be a great addition to the group.

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole The group started in 2000/2001( there’s contention on the year)by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. They are the only Country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do. There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam R )sings the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless it is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time each member have a part in the song. Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire can make almost any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota. Rob Lundquist:Lead tenor(beard and glasses) Very soulful voice and master whistler from Minneapolis,Minnesota Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas Austin Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )Voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. He has left the group and Adam Bastien took his place June 21 He is from Detroit,MI Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass Deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016) They have collaborated with many singers and legends Don McLean: Vincent Don McLean:American Pie Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message) Alabama:Christmas In Dixie Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end ) Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA Any many many more. They have amazing songwriters in the group Tim, and Chance and Austin was also one of the songwriters so they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover ) Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece ) Butts Medley/ Remix Listen To The Music Can’t Outrun You Brothers In Arms Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft video game Skull And Bones) Life Is A Highway Stand By Me Jump Right In Any Way The Wind Blows I’ve Seen (Original by Tim) Your Man Crazy Life ( original and last video with Austin ) Something To Talk About ( first video with Adam B ) I Still Believe In You (latest release ) Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES ) There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet. They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟

I am actually surprised this doesn't have more views yet. Home Free is very popular. The way they managed to continue making videos during the pandemic was very fun. Your questions have already been answered, right? Much of their music leans in a country direction. They do a lot of covers, but they also have originals. Soft and meaningful: "Helplessly Hoping" and "I Can't Outrun You" are two good choices. A lot of people suggest "Ring of Fire" and "Man of Constant Sorrow" as good starting points. I personally enjoy the version of Ring of Fire that features Avi Kaplan who is the former bass to another acapella group (Pentatonix) and now does solo music that falls somewhere in the folk/Americana range much of the time. I am a huge Avi fan though, so I might be a tad biased. Off to watch Ren.

These guys are an absolute party live. The audience sings along. They encourage interaction. I get to see them in concert again in 3 weeks. I can’t wait! 🎶🥰 I hope you do more Home Free. They have a very deep catalog! Playful? Do their Butts Medley! 🤭

This was done during covid... so they were not even together when filming and such. Going tomorrow to see them in Lancaster, PA! Deep voice is Tim.... You need to see more of these guys for sure... Just don't watch "Mayday" until your familiar with the group.... I would recommend "Man of Constant Sorrow" but many others are great... They do have another pirate one that they actually wrote. "Skull and Bones" Oh, and yes all acapello. Skull and bones was done for a video game, so there are instruments there. Another good one is "ring of fire" by johny cash.

Home Fry here (that’s what Home Free fans call themselves) and new subscriber for more Home Free. This went viral on Tik Tok during Covid. Ubisoft heard it and asked Home Free to write a sea shanty for their new video game Skull and Bones. Chance, the first voice in this medley and Home Free’s sea shanty aficionado wrote a fantastic sea shanty for the game called Skull and Bones (I would suggest the official Home Free video first but there are shorter live versions from when Ubisoft introduced the game). I think you would really enjoy it. They are by far my favorite group! They can make you laugh till you cry or cry from gut wrenching emotions. They have many fantastic originals as well. You have received many great suggestions already to get you started, I just might add one of their originals “I’ve Seen” to the list. Thank you for a fun reaction, I hope your son enjoys it too!

If you love lyrics, there are a number of HF videos you might like - particularly some of their originals. (their covers are also amazing, but you have probably heard those lyrics before): I've Seen (written by the bass - Tim Foust) Land of the Free (also Tim) Remember This (Tim again) Love me Like That (written by Austin - the high tenor in the red costume) Lonely Girl's World (Austin) Save the World (Austin) MR (Austin) - some word play in this one So Long Dixie (Tim and Austin) and just for your son - Ubisoft requested that they create a song for the Skull and Bones video game - Chance (The first singer) wrote one and they have recorded it - Skull and Bones is quite a song - but it does use instruments (as do Save the World and So Long Dixie)

Of the current acapella groups who are popular now, Home Free is by far my favorite. I've been following them for six months or so, maybe longer, and I still remind myself at the end of a song, "oh yea, acapella." Home Free do all sorts of music, some serious, some funny, all beautiful. They do some original songs, and most folks say their "covers" are actually upgrades. Enjoy! We'll be seeing you around.

Adam Chance, the first singer, is a sea shanty fan and talked the group into doing this. I believe it is why a video game company approached him to write a song for a game. Home Free recorded three versions of “Skull and Bones,” which Chance on guitar and Austin Brown, the high tenor who had a sword in this video, on mandolin: one with elements of the game, a shorter live version and a third as a music video with a story. I think you’d like any or all.

This was filmed during Covid. They were all filming from home and sending to their production guy. There is a professional Live recording of this in front of a 5,000+ audience that’s really even better than this video. Anything you pick from their vast library of songs will be just awesome.

If fun is what you're looking for check out their '="Butts Medley", "Champagne Taste", Hillbilly Bone" and "Brothers". The bass is the one dressed as Jack Sparrow (Tim Foust). The one that started the song is Aam Chance A.K.A. Chance. The beatboxer was in the while shirt playing with the skull. The one you thought was the bass is the tenor, Rob Lundquist. The one in the red pirate outfit is the high tenor Austin Brown (Austin has since left the band and has gone solo) his replacement is Adam Bastien. They are the only all A 'Capello country band. They are amazing and the best all vocal band out there. Anything Home Free is Great. I kid you not; you can't go wrong with Home Free.

Nice reaction! Just saw HF last weekend and they are amazing in person. Try "Folsom Prison Blues" if you want to hear some bass, "The Driver" is a beautiful song, if you like Home Free, you'll be in the rabbit hole for quite a while. Also, I would love to see your reactions to The Dead South. Try "Broken Cowboy" (Happy mag version), "Banjo Odyssey" if you want to get a little weird. They are from Saskatchewan,Canada, a little different, and extremely talented.

Welcome to the world of Home free, gor me the best acapella groups out there. Home free is Adam Rupp the beatboxer, Tim Foust the deep deep base, Robb Lungren , tenor Adam Chance baritone and in this song high tenor Austin Brown who very recently left the band and was replaced by yet another Adam...Adam Bastien. They are so so talented, have extremely tight harmonies and absolutely no instruments. Adam Rubb, for me is the best beat boxer anywhere. You want to see more, go the the song ' man of constant sorrow ' you will here a harmonica that doesn't exist and a mouth harp without the harp...Adam Chance is doing that sound. Tim Foust is the deep base but he has 6 octaves so his range is insane. You want to here what Austin can do...listen to ' when a man loves a woman ' absolutely brilliant. There are so many amazing songs of home free...it will never get boring because they are all different 😊❤
