He's the singer, songwriter (main one), and guitar player in his band. His band members are amazing as well. This video is related to his last album (Unreal Unearth) and this song belongs to the same circle of hell as "Eat Your Young".
What kind of bigotry have you got in your head?, just say you are British in your allegiances, you will always be Irish by birth. People born on the island of Ireland are generally fine with our allegiances, however the vast majority of people on this little rock we call home are Irish, we do not call ourselves Irish by specific island geography. If you are a minority unionist, then it is all fine, the island is big enough for all of us together. Welcome to the new reality, Hozier is a good guy, he is Irish, just like you, be proud of him.
For me, the video was nature vs human nature: whiskey pouring over chocolate cake and fudge brownies, hot coffee brewing or pumping through arteries, chocolate toffee, melted Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Therapy ice cream, new life and creativity coming up from the crustiness of sleep deprivation and hangover, earth and glaciers as a coffee with cream. It's a wonderfully evocative video of gluttony (as Hozier's spoken about in interviews), the excess sweetness and health worshipper attracting the ants throughout. I love it.
He’s Irish they all play instruments or they can play something reasonably well it’s in their blood. Can we talk about his voice the lyrics are spectacular. One the best singers to come out of Ireland!!
His most recent album is very very nature-based in its lyric videos and so this lyric video is following that theme which is why it has a lot to do with dirt and insects and worms and stuff... It's just fitting the theme of his most recent work hes put out.
it’s actually based on the book Divine Comedy, by Dante the use of earth and insects in this red/scarlet tone are directly related to the appearance of hell
@@millenacarvalho7834 yes, I'm aware. I'm just explaining that the themes of nature are in ALL of the lyric videos that he has posted about this album... So it's a concurrent theme and not something unique/random to this specific lyric video.
That's not a bass lead, the bass is way in back, the lead line is played by Hozier on his Epiphone Baritone guitar while singing at the same time.( it always amazes me how he can deliver complex guitar riffs while singing at same time, most guitarists do call and response between guitar lead and vocal)
I live close to Hozier and he’s such a great person very down to earth, have you listened to Orville Peck his live in Nashville Let Me Drown, be interesting to hear your thoughts
I have over 7000 reactions with about 70% of them being local bands. I occasionally check out other larger artists as well. Hope you enjoyed the reaction Brian 🤘
