He is about to leave for his mandatory 18 month enlistment in the South Korean military and this is his gift to ARMY. JHope started out as a street dancer before coming to BigHit and J.Cole was his inspiration. BTS did a song, Born Singer that sampled J.Cole's Born Sinner early in their career which was only on soundcloud until this year when J.Cole gave them the okay to put it on Proof, their anthology album. You should check it out. JHope released a solo album this past summer, Jack In the Box and was the headliner at Lollapalooza which he sold out. 100K ARMY attended in person and about 15M of us attended via LiveStream. I hope you listen to more of JHope's solo songs along with BTS songs. He is one of their 3 rappers and there are also 4 singers in the group. They cross all genres and are worth the listen!💜
what I read from the comment, Jhope is a street dancer before join BTS and J Cole is his idol, he dance with j Cole song. So this song is Jhope back on the street like old days. That why J Cole have more verse in this song, because he wanna dance again underground while hearing J Cole rapping on roof top. And this song in his farewell, he has mandatory military service.
I don't care someone said this is J Hope song or J Cole song.....both artist are great idol of mine but i had tears of happinest seeing J Hope became a succesfull fan coz he can make a beautiful parting gift for ARMY's with his greatest role model.He can proudly showing to J Cole that he can be this way coz he look up to him.And with the part J Cole said 'like father watching his daughter walk on the aile and let her grown up' that's what ARMY's feel watching their babies all growing up and leaves us for a moment to do their mandatory duty ....and we'll always be there when they comeback at 2025.Always💜
It was really nice to see your reaction, glad you liked the song☺️ in case you didn't know, j-hope is one of the three rappers of the group BTS, and j.cole is one of his biggest influences since he was a kid and the video reflects that, j-hope started as a street dancer and he used to dance and vibe to Cole's songs, so here we can see him dancing underground while Cole is rapping at the top, then at the end Cole greets Hope who made it to the top as well🥺 And the lyrics are like a farewell to ARMY's (the fandom) since he has to enlist for the military (it's mandatory for all male in south korea) and he'll be gone for around 18 months, so it was like a doble goodbye taking into account Cole's verse, although Hobi mentioned that he wanted us to take it as an "I'll be back, this is not the end" song :) If you're interested you could check Born Singer by BTS, wich was inspired by J.Cole's Born Sinner, same beat and melody but they wrote their own lyrics :) Sorry for the long comment🥺
How big is JHope??? What about being the headliner at Lolapolooza this past year? He is one of 7 to worldwide famous group BTS!!! 90 million fans worldwide (growing) and able to sell out stadiums in minutes. You should check out their other work (very easy to find on RU-vid). As a middle aged Korean American, it is mind blowing to me that an Asian group can capture the minds and hearts of so many fans. No other musical group comes close IMHO. On top of that, their message is inspiring!!!
3:48-4:27 - True, subtitles aren't always accurate, but in this case they are. What you heard as "bodies in the gutters" was five Korean words. "Anywhere" tacked onto the end creates the impression the whole sentence is English. And this is the first time in the song when Korean words are used, so, surprise! BTS often uses a mix of Korean and English, which can lead to some interesting misheard lyrics, lol. An accurate fan-created lyrics video can help. If you want more J-Hope I’d definitely recommend Arson of his newest album Jack In The Box, it’s a different sound than most BTS/J-Hope fans have heard from him before the song came out but it’s so good. Also lyrics for J-Hope/BTS vids should always be right as long as you’re watching on the Hybe Labels channel and the CC says English - not ‘English (auto-correct)’ tho cause that is RU-vid trying and failing to auto caption

I love that you were not hesitant to rewind the video to read the lyrics again and again. You seem like the type of reactioners who enjoy deep lyrics. I think you would be blown away by how deep BTS’s songs are. Don’t be fooled by the tag boy band. They are nothing like a typical boy band. Having said that their three English songs are what you’d expect to hear from a K-pop group. I would suggest you check out songs like Mic Drop (Steve Aloi remix), Black Swan, Idol. Their songs are so deep that there are explanation videos for non Korean viewers. I hope you will give BTS as a group and the solo projects another try.

No one is 100% accurate as in English one word can mean 5 different things, same with Korean.
Jhope is amazing this is jhopes song by the way but it's with jcole and my gosh there both incredible. Also jhope gave jcole 32 bars because he respects him so much that's why he raps a bit shorter then jcole. I'm beyond happy about this collaboration tho.
