John Denver is my most favorite artist of all time! He wrote "Annie's Song" for his first wife and "For You" for his 2nd wife. Just a gifted singer, songwriter, and environmentalist! I also recommend "Poems, Prayers, and Promises" and "Shanghai Breezes" from this concert! I listened to this concert on CD every day of high school!

He wrote this song when he and his wife were going through turbulent times and were always fighting . She went nuts and had a whole bunch of his favorite trees cut down, they separated for the fourth time and that was the trigger .

Let me tell you something. I was 3 years old when this song came out. Your reaction is the same as mine every time I listen to it. For me that’s 50 flippin years of hearing it. He wrote it while going up a chair lift to ski. Something like ten minutes to write. It was for his wife at the time after a fight.

I've watched a lot of reactions to this song, and yours is my favorite! You get it, girl! I was a young woman back then (I'm 66 now) and fell so in love with him. I was devastated when he died so young. Please listen to more of his songs. His voice is so pure and gentle. I will never get tired of listening to John Denver. Rocky Mountain High is another song I know you'll love.

Calypso is one of my favorites. John Denver was a big conservationist and was friwnds with Jacques Cousteau, who famously had a TV series back in the 1970s called the "Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau" or something like that the boat that Cousteau's ocean adventures happed from was called Calypso, and Denver had gone on it with Cousteau at keast once. He wrote the song in honor of Cousteau and his boat and mission to educate the public about ocean life.

John Denver was a great singer-songwriter & actor. He had so many hits in the 70's-80's. Some of his signature songs were "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Rocky Mountain High", "Poems, Prayers & Promises", "Calypso", "Thank God I'm A Country Boy", "Sunshine On My Shoulders" etc. John appeared in several films & television specials during the 70's-80's, including the 1977 hit "Oh, God!", in which he starred alongside George Burns.

I don't know how I missed this one a month ago, but this is a fabulous song and I love, love, love your reaction to it! Annie was John Denver's wife and, unfortunately, they got divorced eventually. But he always seemed to love her and she always seemed to love him. She grieved bitterly when he passed away. Fabulous reaction! Here's to your next one! 🙏😊💜

Without a doubt my favorite artist! If you think this is beautiful, you should react to “For you” by John Denver. He wrote this song on a chair lift going skiing. I saw him 2 weeks before his passing! He will always be my favorite!
