@86crud Im so sorry to hear of your loss. I pray for you and hope you can find comfort. I was an alcoholic and addict. I know the struggle. Its hard to understand unless you've been there. The power of addiction is the hardest thing you can ever overcome. You dont even realize the hurt you bring to family and others and unfortunately you tend to hurt those who love you the most. Just know that deep down she did love you and care for you. As a parent myself its your worst nightmare. I wish you comfort and a way to find the light that is in the darkness.

This song for me makes me remember all the good and bad times in my life and all the bad choices i made especially. It gives me the courage to live a better life for me and my family for the remainder of my time on this planet. The tears are cleansing to your soul when listening to this song. And they show the path towards a brighter future if you allow them to flow freely. They take the weight off your shoulders and chest for a few minutes so that you might find clarity of mind and spirit. God Bless Johnny Cash, and you Starr and to anyone who reads this comment in the years to come.

This song was originally performed by Nine Inch Nails, a heavy metal rock band. Johnny Cash was an American country singer who decided to perform this cover. The scenes you see in the video are scenes from his life and a basic summary of how even in the end, we all face death. Johnny Cash struggled with addiction his whole life and this song was a tribute to his life of struggle but also a goodbye. When his daughter heard this song before it was released, she told him, “Daddy, it sounds like you’re saying goodbye.” And he replied, “I am baby, I am saying goodbye.” He passed away shortly after this song was released. This is his final song and a testament that such a legendary man could still evoke emotion even at the end.

Hello from France. Even with a minimum of knowledge of English and thanks to this magnificent video, we can imagine all the pain and suffering of this monster of American music. Now I would talk about you and tell you that you seem like a nice person. I can see it in your face. It seems that your emotions cannot be contained within you, which means that you must be a generous and apathetic person. I really enjoyed your video. Kisses from a small village called La Salvetat Saint Gilles near Toulouse.

Johnny Cash was known as the "Man in Black" and was a famous singer mostly known for his country music (though he occasionally like in this song sang other genres) and his helping the common man and doing such things as performing at various prisons. I couldn't even begin to list all of his hits. As for this song, it was originally written by Trent Reznor and was a hit in the 90's for his band "Nine Inch Nails". This became Johnny Cash's last song. A few months later he and the lady in this video (his wife) died, her first, him within a few months. He sings it at a slower pace then Reznor did. People liked this video so much and Cash's version of the song that Reznor basically said that this is Johnny Cash's song now.

My favourite story about this is that Cash approached Trent Reznor to cover it and after he agreed, making only a couple of lyrical changes (crown of thorns rather than crown of shit). When Reznor heard Cash’s version he said that Cash had made it is own now, and said he could never play it again. On a side note, a few of the regular NiN artists helped direct the video.
