Rob Halford, (Singer), is one of the Legendary Metal God Singers of all time..... also rumored to be the man who started the leather and spikes trend in metal.
@@JokerInk-CustomBuilds Who in turn were inspired by the famed artist Tom Of Finland. His affectuation with leather is what got the UG gays to make them wear leather clothing as symbol of respect and admiration for the artist.
On that note, rob did an interview on kshe95 in st.louis right after he announced he was gay....people were calling in talking trash.....rob simply replied"i came out on stage dressed like the village people for 30 years, how fkn stupid are you?"🤣god bless rob.
@@JokerInk-CustomBuilds ROB HALFORD OF JUDAS PRIEST STARTED THE LEATHER AND SPIKES LONG BEFORE THE GAY S & M SCENE...THE GAYS STOLE HIS LOOK...EVEN HIS HAIR CUT
The drummer Scott Travis is my childhood Buddy, we grew up same area here in Virginia, still, a good friend he's been in Judas priest since 1989.great drummer 👏🔥💯👍 an yes Rob Halford sings like that all the time👏🔥💯👍
Scott is awesome. Doesn't get enough credit for his contribution to metal. And to think... This was his introduction to Priest fans. First song on his first album in the band. Holy shit :D
Scott Travis is a true killer on the drums. But Rob really only sings like this on the Painkiller album, he varies widely in his tone over Priest's 50 year career. Like all of Priest there's a lot of facets to him. Early Priest sounds completely different as does later Priest
At this time Judas Priest had become pretty soft, and they saw the emergence of much harder, faster 'thrash metal' with Metallica and Megadeth. So they decided that they were going to up their game and show these youngsters what metal is all about. The result was 'Painkiller'. And it took everyone back to school.
With all due respected Judas priest because I absolutely love them I will say that any Megadeth song ever made even their worst hit rips harder than Painkiller
Hit him up on this victim of change any priest fan knows it's definitely a classic! And don't worry about the audioslave cochise video I'll wear him down eventually lol
@@kevinkazman2664 I agree on this, as good as any live version may be, the original gives it to you nice and clean. It helps you appreciate the live performances more than if you hadn't heard the studio version first.
When Rob is singing the chorus, Glen, KK, and the drummer are all playing 32nd notes, the higher pitched tone is the guitars's layer, lower tone being the double bass kick-drums. Also, Ian's bass is with them as well, blasting those 32nd notes too. The guitarists and the bass ( I am only assuming here) are playing open E ( and Ian's bass equivalent) tremolo. Just means real fast on the thickest string closest to the player's head. ( Drummer Les Binks, guys??) When all four are playing such a driving and basic tone without interruption, it's wicked powerful and, to me, addictive. It kind of draws you in and gets you going.
Yes, Rob used to sound like that live. He’s a professional and has never used auto tune live. Going further back his vocals was better when he was younger, he struggles now due to age. Check out any live recordings from twenty or more years ago and you’ll see.
There's a reason ROb Halford is considered the Metal God ... this dude's voice was out of this world in his prime, if you look at Judas Priest live concerts from the late 80's he was untouchable as a vocalist, this dude has incredible range , the Fuel For Life tour is one of my fav Priest era's
the bass player and drummer (low end) often can sound like one beautifully morphed sound, the reason that we " bounce", " groove "," head bang" all the way to dancing is because of BOTH ! not the same without each other
Priest has been around since the early 70s this song was 1990. Dude react to an earlier song called Beyond the realms of death. Its NOTHING like this and it's a masterpiece, not taking anything away from this song.

You're welcome my friend. Judas Priest has been around for 40 years or So . Plenty of music and plenty of different styles they play . Rob helford the singer Probably the most versatile singer I've ever heard.
fun fact last year the bands new guitarist Richie Faulkner was playing this song at a show and suffered what is called a complete aortic dissection. basically his main artery to his heart ruptured and was pumping blood into his chest cavity. this happened while he was playing this song he finished the song which was the last of their set then went to the hospital for 10 hours of open heart surgery. he has since recovered and is back on tour. his Dr said most people who have this happen don't even make it to the hospital. that definitely earned him the cred to stand with the metal gods!
So I had your Jinjer Pisces reaction show up as a suggested video and of course, it being Jinjer and Pisces, I had to watch to see the reaction. I wasn't disappointed. Since then I've literally sat here all night and watch almost all of your metal/rock reactions. They've been fantastic. This is a journey you won't regret and one that will take you in so many directions and through so many feelings, as you've already discovered. You've only touched the tip (yes I know how that sounds). But there's so many sub-genres of metal and they're all deep. So when I see reactors who have lived in other generation such as K-Pop, HipHop or whatever diving into the metal pool, I have to check it out and so far, everyone I've watched, Alex Hefner, No Life Shaq to name a couple, they've all come away with a new respect for a genre they had always believed was just noise and screaming. As a life long rocker/metalhead, and someone who grew up around jazz, dixieland, swing and symphony orchestra music (my dad is a retired musician) and having played music in my youth, it makes me feel good to see others opening themselves up to new music and appreciating it. Thank you for that. I'm now officially a sub. Keep rockin
Dude You just made my favorite Painkiller reaction! Hilarious!!!😂🤘 The complete album is a masterpiece so my suggestions: A Touch of Evil (high school classic), Between the Hammer & the Anvil (most underrated song🤯)!!!
Another great drummer is Igor Cavalera from Sepultura. I would recommend Dead Embryonic Cells as a good starter for Sepultura, followed by Desperate Cry.
1980, British Steel, turns the music Industry on it's ear. 1990, the music industry says "Metal is Dead" The Metal Gods say, "Painkiller and you were saying?"
There was a concert where Halford was singing and a fan had a phone real close to the stage pointing it filming. Halford reached out and kicked the phone up in the air! The jokes immediately came in. He...Is...the phone kickah!! Lol
First of all man, I’m an OLD metalhead. I bought into Metallica in 1984! Seeing your smile and enjoyment of metal music reminds me all over again why I LOVE the genre. You’ve got yourself a new metal head fam member dude. So far you’ve been lighting up the metal and it’s awesome! You keep catering to METALHEADS and you will have a LOT of new subs. And we’re loyal. And rarely will you get steered in the wrong direction. Judas Priest... Bro, do this do this live? Man, they kill live. They’re one of the founders of metal, and they’re still titans that are out there smashing it today. If there was a textbook for one of the perfect examples of a metal song, this is it.
I looked up explosive energy in the Oxford English once and there was simply THIS video. I fucking LOVE this blast of metal energy, never fails to get me up. possibly the greatest metal tune ever, but i'm such a Sabbath fanatic that that feels wrong saying that, but it has to be up there, top 3 GOAT metal tracks.
Rob Halford used to pull this song of with regularity for nearly 25 years, obviously with age, he’s now 68 and still touring, they haven’t done this song in a while.. Rob showcases his voice in Victim of Change, The Green Manalishi (With the two pronged crown) Sinner, Screaming for Vengeance, The Sentinel, Beyond the realms of Death, The Ripper, Dreamer Deceiver, Dissident Aggressor, to name a few.. Easy with the stop/pause button....It will prove to be a great turn off
Rob is 70 now and they performed this song on their most recent tour, he has changed how he sings it because with age he can't do it the way it is here but he still rocks and the new vocal style sounds just as badass
Love some priest but some of there older stuff is there best victim of change is an amazing song. Oh yeah also hit up the video for audioslave cochise lol as a lover of music as I am I know you will love it I'm gonna be relentless with this cochise request 😁

Yet another great British metal band & yes Rob Halford sounds like this live & he has a 4 octive voice love it great reaction dude this is the greatest metal song ever
I was just thinking it was time for Priest. I got to see them last year (2019) in San Francisco. Amazing, just amazing! Love from the Central Valley California
Seen 2 shows of the Firepower Tour. Trust me, at 70 Rob still has that screaching scream he is well known for. The Metal God. Love Priest, my number 2 band.
Judas Priest is so damn under rated in the reaction community. They were so badass and amazing. But if you like drums, you need to check out the Sound of Madness by Shinedown.
Judas Priest put metal in to the word Heavy Metal. This entire album is amazing! The metal god (Rob Halford) is the singer. Painkiller is considered by many the metal anthem. The guitars are KK Downing and Glenn Tipton. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2JmlM2iI8gE.html Try Sentinel live from Fuel for Life, or Victim of Changes from US festival.
