His country = his beloved He means that anothor person take his beloved from him And actually it's a true story between two classmates in art college " Arabic language department " in Baghdad university . it has been written in 1972 by the student " Hasan almarwani " the girl's name is " Layla " , he told her about his feelings but she is not giving to him the same feeling , after two years he came back again to her but without chance , after that the girl was engaged to another guy , a rich guy in same college , so that he writes this poem . it's incredible poetry from his broken heart .

Yes, this totally right... This poem was read by its writer (hassan almarawany) on the stage of the college during the graduation party, while the layla was present in this party, she started to cry at that time

The another Guy was not in the some college. He was was even not from Iraq. She married him bcuz he was a rich officer. Even if u notice marwany wrote „ …strangers settled in my city..“.

This song is written by the poet Marwan. When he was in university, he fell in love with a girl. He wrote this for a poem on the walls of the university in Iraq. The story of his love was tragic, and the artist Kazem made it into a song.
