This is the song that got me listening to Kenny Chesney. Memories of summer romances! I've seen Chesney at Gillette Stadium many times. I think of Kenny as the Jimmy Buffett of country just because of the atmosphere at his concerts. One thing I do miss from his earlier shows is the horn section he used to bring.

Awesome! I’ve seen him live about 15 times. I went to school in northern KY and he played in Cincinnati at riverbend lots of times. Love his outdoor concerts!

I lived in Hampton, VA until I was 10. We lived close enough to Buckroe Beach Amusement Park that we could hear the roller coaster, the train that went around the perimeter of the park, bells, music, the whole 9. The first time I heard this song, it took the first verse to transport me back to 10 years old, living near the Chesapeake Bay. Cheers, y’all.

I missed this when you did it. I have a hard time listening to it anymore. I sang this to my soul mate the first night we meet at a bar with karaoke. I changed "Cleveland" to "Hebron" (Indiana, my hometown). See, I was an over-the-road truck driver going coast to coast..I got a tear and a guest in my motel room. I moved in with her 2 weeks later in Escondido, CA while my divorce was getting started. I won her heart. She was 23--I was 39. 4 kids which was awesome to me since I love kids. Hard to meet serious peope when you tell them you got 4 kids at 23 years old. We spent near 2 years that went by so fast. But, alas, the core of a long-haul driver supersedes relationships. To be great at our job, we must sacrifice everything like you and BJ got--everyday togetherness, family. But I have come to terms with it. It wasnt a job..it was WHO I was. Everybody I know and love calls me a driver or truck driver and I love that. I know I did it right. Over 2.2 million miles with no accidents. I wouldnt change a thing. I was great at it. Great reaction! love you guys!

He really does. I’m not even a real Kenny fan, went to his concert just for fun, and was blown away. I’ve seen all the big country stars, Kenny concerts are like a big party with 15,000 of your closest friends, lol. I’ve seen him several times since that first one, always had a blast. So many good songs, that you didn’t even know you knew the words to, everyone singing along, just a special atmosphere. Idk how he does it, he’s just in a class by himself when it comes to live music.

A lot of this video was filmed at the Pavilion in Myrtle Beach SC where I spent a big part of my youth on the weekends and vacations at with my friends so when I hear this song you can believe it takes me back.🤠

I love the optimism of your reaction, but you were wrong. This is not a love song (per se). It is a song about a remembered summer romance. He spent the summer on the beach far from home, met this girl, and enjoyed the romance of the situation. The song is set on the night before he leaves for home and he knows that he will probably never see her again. Now, years later, he is looking back on that summer and remembering the illusion of love and the time they spent together, and he finds it impossible to think of her in any way other than his "girlfriend" even though he knows that she has also moved on with her life.

Ya'll should Kenny's song "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy". You'll get a real kick out of the music video! NOTE: Don't play the video by Alfredenewmon. It's a fake video with actors that someone else made spoofing the official video. But they titled it as Kenny Chesney - She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy. So it's misleading, Be careful.

This one's not so much about true love or having love be enough... It's a rather shameless (and catchy) promotion of summer flings and one-night stands. He's willing to do or say anything to close the deal before going back to Cleveland (gross). I've always loved this track, but it ain't about settling down for the long term with Mary, but it is about how making the most of a moment is ok. Also to each their own, but old Kenny likes his picture taken only with his hat on. Believe it was Renee Zellwiger that had to part ways with him because of his bald insecurities. Dig Kenny's songs though. You and Tequila, Old Blue Chair, She's Got It All... Good times and noodle salad.
