Linkin Park and Jay-Z did a mini album (only 6 songs) of mashups called Collision Course. The whole thing was great but this is my favorite track. I am excited to see you react to more Linkin Park. Their music is like the soundtrack to my high school years. Bringing back a lot of great memories hearing them again.
After Chester wrote it and showed it to Mike, Mike stuck by his side for 3 days and nights. They all kept an eye on him and did the best they could but his pain just got to be too much and I think Chris's death put him over the edge. RIP
I have heard many rumors about Chris and Chester had evidence of child sex trafficking in the industry and was about to expose it, they both end up killed, I refuse to believe that either one of them committed suicide.
I was once like you I only listened to what what cool or mainstream I was not a rap fan at all but linking park opened my eyes to hip hop and other types of rap so I do like you have broadened your horizon to music no matter what it is. The story goes MTV decided to do a mashup series. They got Jay and asked who he wanted and he said LP. They were supposed to mash up a song but Mike from LP ended up mashing up six. There’s video of the studio and then them recording with Jay. MTV asked them to do it live. They film it. It didn’t film. So they redid this whole concert. MTV never did an episode 2. No one could compare. When Chester killed himself Jay played this song at a concert and looked like he was about to lose it at the end.

I was at a concert in '05 in Philly, the Live 8, where this collab also took place. This is one of, if not THE BEST concert Philly has ever seen to date. A LEGENDARY lineup of artists and upwards of 1 million plus people attended. This was also when rap / hip-hop was still at its best, not this garbage mumble BS. 90's and early 2k we still had lyricists and story tellers.

I can't remember which song it was but it was one of the songs on this album in one of these videos you can see a reaction from Jay-Z when Chester is singing and you can tell that Jay-Z was surprised.
