@@melissaford717You talking about Crazy Town or Linkin Park? Link Park was great......Crazy Town Literally got boo'd off the stage. Just saying what happened. Glad you enjoyed them
@JimBo-ye9gb I saw Linkin Park, Mudvayne, Limp Biscuit, and The Deftones open for Metallica at Veterans Stadium (RIP) in Philadelphia on July 12, 2003. The Summer Sanitarium tour it was called I think. I saw 3 Ozzfest concerts: 1997, 1998, and 1999 in Camden, NJ and never saw another Ozzfest again. I don't remember anyone booing Linkin Park that day in July. It was an awesome time. You take care 🙂
Numb is one hell of a song, every aspect of it just goes so hard. I think the lyrics are so important in how they address what many go through with this pressure of expectations, but going beyond the surface level of sucking because you aren't as happy as you could be. But it does something even more sinister; if you're constantly made to feel that you have to do and be something that isn't you, you're also constantly told that "you" isn't okay, isn't enough. If you aren't allowed to feel at least okay with yourself, you push that self down and put on a mask. Eventually, you might even stop feeling yourself entirely because you're so distant from yourself. And you can't really meet and feel others, because "you" aren't allowed, only the mask. That's when you become numb to yourself, numb to the people in your life, numb to the world.
At 55, this song still hits me as I grew up numb most of my life and afraid to follow my dreams. With alcoholism in the family and lack of guidance and support, those dreams are now gone and will bother me the rest of my life. I've finally learned to do what makes me happy and try to share my experience and preach to others to do the same. One thing I've heard many times is that when elderly people are on their death bed, they don't regret the things they tried, they regret the things they didn't. Don't let that be you and Go for it!
Chester Bennington was then voice of a generation. His lyrics are deep and profound, touching on his experience with his own demons. It's such a shame that he eventually succumb to those demons. R.I.P Chester
Knowing now about Chester, what he was suffering through with his depression, lots of his songs were crying out about it and how it just went un-noticed in his life, till he ended his life!! I've suffered from severe depression most of my life, and hearing these words makes me me more aware of my own problem and how its ok to have it known to loved ones and to get HELP before it goes too far!!!! RIP Chester
Linkin Park is a combination of two amazing talents that compliments each other so well that sum is greater than its parts. Mike Shinoda's rapping and lyrics coupled with Chester's energy and voice. Mike Shinoda always said rap was his true passion, also headlined the rap group Fort Minor-which you should check out as well.
I'm incredibly glad you reacted to Linkin Park! It would be great if you could hear more from Mike's side too, because in "Numb" he's not very prominent. I recommend you listen to "Papercut" from the album Hybrid Theory, which kicks it off (and then you just want more), "Lying from you" from the album Meteora, or from the same album (the most underrated song) "Figure.09". Every song of theirs from the album Hybrid Theory or the album Meteora is amazing! There isn't a single weak track on those albums. And for a real showcase of Chester's vocal skills, you can check out "Given up" or "QWERTY" (Live from Summer Sonic Tokyo 2006) - what he showcased there simply blows your mind. ❤
They released a few tracks that didn’t make the cut last year. Check out the song called “Lost” if you fw this track. Also, check out Collision Course if you fw Hova. It’s not for everyone but a dope mashup nonetheless 🤙🤙
R.I.P. Chester will miss you forever always break down down listening to this went to last ever show in Birmingham UK, won a meet and greet one on one with Chester and he shared so much with me when I told him my past (not going to say here {all I can say is childhood sexual abuse}), but it matched his past so I feel So much from this and his death 14 days after seeing him for last time, when found out he’d committed suicide I fell apart for months, and still struggle to this day 😢😢😢😢 Will recommend Given Up, In the End, Lost, One More light, Numb/Encore ft Jay-Z, Jigga what/Faint ft Jay-Z
Given Up would be a must from Linkin Park. Linkin Park is one of the greatest from their time. Sadly, their time is cut short by the death of Chester (blonde lead singer). So many greats. Great Divide, In the End, Somewhere I Belong, Crawling, Papercut, Bleed it Out, Castle of Glass, Heavy, Lost, One Step Closer, and so many more. There is not a bad song on any of their albums.
this is more then just about college major, its about the mom trying to make the daughter in her vision and the a daughter hating life because of that. The daughter hating that her mom sees so much disappointment in her.
Linkin Park has a very long list of songs and you won't find a bad song at all. Linkin Park is it's own genre of music. Chester had the voice of an angel and the scream of a demon. Some of my favorite Linkin Park performances of songs are: A Place for my Head Live in Texas All the songs from Collision Course (Album done with Jay Z) Points of Authority live Milton Keynes 2008 Faint Rock AM Ring 2007 QWERTY Summer Sonic 2006 High Voltage Rock AM Ring 2001 Given Up AOL sessions 2007 One Step Closer featuring Jonathan Davis live 2004 Crawling featuring Chris Cornell My December live Projekt Revolution 2002 Numb live from the tribute concert for Chester in October 2017 Rolling in the Deep by Adele (cover) ITUNES festival 2011 Mike Shinoda and Fort Minor songs that are some of my favorite: Over Again (very emotional) Remember the Name I.O.U Already Over Open Door Crossing the Line Fine Chester Bennington and Dead by Sunrise songs that are some of my favorite Let Down (emotional) Walking in Circles Crawl Back In Condemned System (from Queen of the Damned soundtrack) Let Down live 2005 White Wedding by Billy Idol (cover) Kings of Chaos 2016
Thanks. I’ve been waiting for linkin park from you. Another rabbit hole for you to go down. Make sure you check out the live version of jay z/linkin park (they did an album together). You will not believe what you are hearing.
Totally sad but still incredibly awesome story: Lead singers Chester and Mike taped a session of Carpool Karaoke with Dr. Ken where they picked up a stranger for taxi service, then sang this song. Chester goes full send and looks like he's really having a great time. He ended up taking his own life a few days later. RIP to an amazing performer that spoke to grappling with dark thoughts and feelings that united us in solidarity: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kgboGhzs3A4.html
Another nice reaction. I know your list is probably bursting already but I would love to see your reaction to a lesser known Linkin Park song... "Roads Untraveled". It pushes and pulls at my emotions every time I hear it. Good shit. No pressure, I'll wait! 😅😆
