As others stated, this album came out when they were in one of their worst periods because of the “disco backlash” and US radio in particular refused to play their music. The album is a favorite of Bee Gees fans.

Living Eyes is an outstanding album. If you have not yet I’d suggest “Paradise” off of this awesome album. Beautiful voices in beautiful harmony. You’ll love it. Bee Gees harmonies
Thanks for the reaction....this was from their 1983 album of the same name......the only album of their's that did not chart......I can't for the life of me figure out why.....this performance was at Barry's children's school ...... two of the children out there were probably Stephen and Ashley Gibb....Barry's two oldest boys......
This album came out in 1980. It was the album after Spirits Having Flown, and people and radio were all on Bee Gees burnout. They fired their band (Blue Weaver, Alan Kendall and Dennis Bryon) and went in a different direction, putting the falsetto more on the back burner, though it's still there. They got NO air play with this one, and the critics lambasted it, but I really love it. Paradise, Nothing Could Be Good, and Be Who You Are are my faves (Be Who You Are is EPIC).
Under rated album. I still have my vinyl. Love it. Released in 1981. Other great tracks are I Still Love You, Don't Fall in Love With Me, Crying Every Day, Paradise, He's A Liar and Wildflower
I so agree. The lyrics on this song are among my favorites - just love the sentiment. I'd love to hear a reaction to any of the songs you mentions, but especially "Don't Fall in Love With Me" - it should have been a hit.
Don't fall in love with me us Robins second best lead. Of course I started a Joke is his signature sing, but Don't Fall in Love with me is exceptional on a vocals level.

I will never understand the US reaction to the Bee Gee's Albums post SNF. They were not disco or anything like. When Albums were selling globally very well indeed for them; here in the UK and in Europe too, Australia and in Asia yet the American fans could not even hear them!
Hello, did you know that the album livingeyes was the first popular music album to be made into a compact disc?, in other words, the first compact disc in the history of popular music was the album living eyes by the bee gees. It is a very common mistake and as a fan of the bee gees it bothers me a lot to see how in many media and internet search engines they say that the first cd album was "the visitors" by ABBA, this is false and you can check it by looking for information about livingeyes, the album of the bee gees was released a month before ABBA's. Another curious thing is that if you ask an artificial intelligence chat it will tell you that the first CD was by ABBA but if you correct it and name it the livingeyes of the bee gees reminding it that it is a month earlier, the artificial intelligence will rectify it. You can check it, I've done it from Spain and it has behaved like this several times, I imagine that from the USA it will be the same.
