You can hear that Anita Baker in her vocals, bruh, expressing that jazzy flavor. A truly gifted woman who adds all kinds of elements to her unique sound. This is why she is still going today and is highly respected in the industry.
That entire CD was fire 🔥 Sang every dang song!!! She said was inspired by Anita Baker to sing a little jazzy. You can listen to her entire catalog and get lost in it!!! Try some of her fast ones. I think you will like them too. “Real Love” “I Can Love You” Man, you are taking me back to my high school day’s!!! Thank you Satori!!! 🥰
I always loved this joint. Mary was in her bag with this one, smooth, sophisticated, jazzy with the right amount of hip hop soul in the mix. It was a nice switch of pace for her at the time it dropped. Underrated gem for sure.
Mary J. Blige’s best (classic) albums are What’s the 411, My Life & Share My World so definitely if you react to a song off any of these you can’t go wrong!
I'm glad you're feelling Mary. Just to think she's in her 50's and still looks good, fit, and can sing her azz off!! Check her out fam. We still rock in our 50's!!
I have always love her raspiness in her early music! She shows so much emotions and pain and depth into her songs! She's incredible into my eyes. She has and still have some powerful vocals and the woman can blow. I love MJB!! She shows alot of inspiration in us all, especially for the women! She is truly an icon, the Queen of Hip Hop Soul baby!!
All good dude if you haven't heard, or better still "listened" to all this classic r&b. At least you're spending time getting caught up and sharing it with us. Most of us appreciate it
Mary got hits for days Reminisce, Real Love, Everything, Mary Jane, You Remind Me, I Can Love You featuring Lil Kim, Rainy Days featuring Ja Rule, Be Happy, I Don't Want To Do Anything featuring K-Ci Hailey from Jodeci, and You're All I Need featuring Method Man just to name some.
I think on the low, if you ask ppl who grew up listening to MJB, this would be considered one of her best songs like top 5. Like she swagged this whole joint, this one of her bops 4real.
You are on a roll today with these jams from bad to the bone ladies. Do not say you are sorry my dear. Mary is singing about her life and she had a hard time, which many of us had back in the day. I like that you go deep inside a song and break it down in a gentle way. Thanks young man, you are bringing back good and bad times in a positive way. God Bless You.
Mary J is one of a handful of artists whose whole album you could listen to without skipping any songs. Just listen to everything you can by her. You won't be disappointed
That whole album slaps I’m in my twenties and I just got the whole album on Spotify it’s a classic can’t believe this was released in 1992 I thought it came out in 1996 or 97 this album is two damm great 👍🏾
Hi Satori. It's Lady A. Another Lovely Legend. Mary has so many hits out there, such as "Take Me As I Am, My Everything, Family Affair, I'm Going Down, Not Gon Cry, Real Love." And Mary & George Michael "As."
Bigg Shout Out to Mary J. Blige For bringing that Raw heat 🔥🔥🔥 Everytime she sings.. She kept that R&B FLAVA alive in the 90s.. and on & on & on (Sweet memories!)
I'm the same as you. My moms used to blast Mary but I didn't remember this song. I went back to Mary's early albums last year and had to pause it several times like you did lol. The love Mary gets is warranted.
No one can hold it against you for not having heard the song before, I’m just glad that you are getting a chance now to hear great vocal skills an how Amazing their instruments served them well. Please keep your ears and heart open to receive their Blessings
This was bumpin on all the air waves in 1992 from What's the 411 LP. Thank you to the person who suggested it because this happens to be one of my favorite Mary J. hitz and to Satori My G you are exactly 💯 with saying you we're meant to listen and react to all these songs you hearing for the first time. I felt that from you from the gate the first time I watched your reaction to EWF - That's the way of the world back in May that's why I never questioned it and that's why I'm a fan 💯💗🎶
I suggested this over and over to Satori, so glad he listened. This is my fav Mary joint. From what I remember it was arranged by Kenny Greene RIP from Intro and co-produced by him. I still play this on the regular, and the instrumental version. Everything you said is 100!
I still bump this album even to this day. Next year makes 30 years that "What's The 411" has been out. You should check out "I'll Do For You" by Father MC. She was one of his background singers on this track!
I hear ya -- Satori My G It's cool 😎 Glad you hearing it now, and understand what they talking about... Stay vibing G!!! ... You about that Grown folks music 😂
If you like this song look into the group Intro. The lead singer wrote this song Reminisce and My Love off Mary's what's the 411 album. Listen to Intro-Come Inside, Let Me Be, or Love thing . They will not disappoint.
🤣🤣🤣 What's up with the picture? LOL. Man, you don't need to 'splain yoself about hearing these songs later than sooner. MJB has music that stands the test of time. 👍🏽💯🎵
Now you got me wondering.. @clbzone Just played this video again today and heard Satori mentioned it twice about Mary J Blige's picture on her cover... I still haven't figured it out. I keep thinking it has something to do with her eyes (It's mesmerizing... Just captivating) 🤔 Then again..... I might be 'doing too much' with all of this eyes-spy critical thinking 😏
Ha! Well for some people back then especially myself when we brought a new cd or cd single and you heard the song and loved it. You just couldn't help but to stare at the cover as the music played, it just took you away some how. Even made you daydream a bit. I think we're just seeing the effects of that in real time. It's a blessing that he connects so well to the music of then. I feel it makes your appreciation for love and life hit different.
@@jaytouch Yes! Especially Earth Wind and Fire. The liner notes and artwork on their LPs were extraordinary. It would take you to another world listening to and looking at their albums. 👍🏽💯😁
Don't apologize satori you are here now you haven't missed your chance to enjoy this incredible era of music. Timeless classic grooves live on in my heart ❤
You don't have to explain yourself to nobody. You are here now, and appreciate what you didn't know. This is why we like watching your reaction. We see and hear the appreciation in your response. Suggestion: Soul Searching by Me'Shell Ndegeocello.
Facts 💯🔥🔥 It's why I keep coming back & chiming in Don't know much about anybody else. Plus, it gives me a chance to hear songs that I missed also growing up I can honestly say, that I haven't heard all of Sade songs.... especially Bullet Proof Soul (First time hearing it -- for me too!)
Agreed. Satori being present NOW via his genuine and matured appreciation for music is what matters. No need to respond to cynics. And a huge YASSSSSSS to your suggestion. Soul Searching by Me’Shell Ndegeocello is a beautiful song. Its quiet intensity is like water wearing down a rock. 🎇🎇🎇
Mary always said that Anita Baker had a great influence on her. I never realized that in her voice until I seen you react to this song now. Especially with song 🎵
Your videos got me through my work day today and took me back to my childhood when this album came out. The first piece of music i bought for myself as a kid was this Mary j bridge what's the 411? album on cassette tape
Great Reaction! I'm not surprised. I've worked with 13 -- 23 yr. olds who've never heard most of Michael Jackson's biggest hits, (songs I thought everyone knew, no matter what age). I think your generation is heavy into full-on rap.
You should react to the song "I Dont Want to Do Anything Else" This is a duet with Mary J Blige and K Ci Haley, the lead singer from the group Jodeci. This was very early in their careers, and at this time, they were actually seeing each other.
