This video has so many strange layers - most notably, is the feeling that nobody in there is quite real. You got the strange weightless lean, made so famous by this video - and *only* part of this performance, even live! Then you have the strange dark intermission, where they all just moan and shout hauntingly. This whole music video is part of a larger movie, Moonwalker, that imho sheds no further light on this - and personally, I interpret the video solely on its own merits; a strange interaction between our protagonist MJ, and a "gangster spiritworld", where he has to charm them with song and dance, in order to make his way through, and escape the dangers that pursue him. It's all wonderfully weird! :D
