Stay with Me is from 1980. A lot of city pip songs were remixed in the late 2000s with extended intros and outros so yhey could be mixed in dance clubs. She had been active from 1977 till 2000 due to illness. Sadly, she passed away 4 yrs after at age 44. I'm glad city pop is getting recognized again by the masses some 30+ yrs later. Lots of great hits from that era. There's another J-Pop genre that I feel needs to be recognized too - Shibuya-kei (1990s).

City Pop rabbit hole, let's goooooo! If I may recommend something, look up Omega Tribe, a city pop music project that was active from 1983 to 1995, they are amazing. My favourites from them are 1886's Kimi ha 1000% and S. Kiyokata's Never Ending Summer.
