mobb deep survival of the fittest nas is in the video they are from queens bridge so they were rolling with Nas rip prodigy one of the greatest to ever pik up the mic this song was aso in 8 mile during Eminem's final battle Also do prodigy keep it thuru dirty version that was song at Jay z they also did the song Murda Muzik dissing jay z crew rocafella prodigy and mobb deep was the ones jay z wa talking about first verse of takeover
‘Ain’t no such thing as halfway cooked.” ‘Scared to look.” That’s from 8 Mile when Eminem battles Anthony Mackie. Maybe that’s the movie this reminds you of.
New York is Here! - Pissed I missed the first but I gotta say, its satisfying as shit watching a bunch of Southern dudes boppin their heads to one of the albums that made the 1990's in NY feel the way it did. I've tried to avoid queens on the way through NYC but I'll *always stop for the music coming out of there (Mobb Deep, one of the Beastie Boys, Nas, 50 Cent, A Tribe Called Quest, LL Cool J, Action Bronson... place is gifted with gritty ass music.)
The same way y’all bewildered that this kid hasn’t seen Paid in Full, I’m godsmacked that y’all have never heard Shook Ones and have no idea who Prodigy is lmao 😅
Fun fact... the 'tic' 'tic' 'tic' sound you hear when you turn on a gas stove is what Havoc sampled for the high hat on this instrumental. Thus the stove in the beginning of the video. That's dope af. Rip Prodigy ✊
It breaks my heart that the younger generation has never heard of Mobb Deep. Like.. how? No one’s ever seen 8 mile? The final battle where Eminem ripped shit up? Mannnnnn. Mobb Deep is one of those groups that shaped hiphop in the 90s.. when rap was still rap. This beat is absolutely legendary. Sigh.
a lot of us do to be fair; the song is pretty big and people who really listen to rap should know it & it's been in so many 2K games that a lot should know regardless
@@01FESONE you know mumble rap is dead though right🤣that era has been long gone and thank God for it but most of us don’t listen to that and actually think it’s good - I’d say mumble rap was a part of trap and as a whole genre trap music is good
Mobb Deep was one of the best rap groups of the 90s. Every track on this album, The Infamous, is a straight banger. This album got steady play in my car for 10 years straight. Havoc was an incredible producer. Sadly we lost Prodigy a couple years ago to Sickle Cell. RIP 🙏.
RIP Prodigy, this shit is CLASSIC. Prodigy was deep thought he was being stalked by aliens and was abducted several times by aliens. Dude predicted his own death. Heavy duty shit. Awesome song
Thats why i call cap on these dudes. You gonna tell me that they saw paid in full but never heard of mobb deep. I guess whatever it takes for clicks and likes
@@deewright2372they are truely misleading all of us. I hate these guys. I am not even into rap but know this song. Next time they will do a "never heard of eminem before" video
Mobb Deep featuring Lil Kim ….. one of the best collabs EVER! Love your channel, camaraderie, and everything about y’all. Thank you for the videos!! 🙏🙏
Mobb Deep (Prodigy and Havoc) are legendary. They're from the same hood as Nas and grew up in the same era he did (Queensbridge Projects in NY). In the 70s, 80s and 90s, QB was notorious for being one of the most crime ridden neighborhoods in America.
This reaction video is hilarious and makes me feel old. These and the movies you guys mentioned the classics of my generation (graduated high school in 1996).
I cannot understate the Impact Mobb Deep, Tribe Called Quest and WuTang, Biggie and Tupac, these 5 are probably more loved and respected more than any other Hip Hop all 5 have huge fanbases n the UK, and the UK Boom Bap scene is born out of hearing these groups/artists. There are MC's today dropping boom boom bap beats that basically owe a lot to the likes of Mobb Deep, WuTang etc legendary shit
Listen man , havoc of mobb deep is one of the illest producers to ever touch the rap game . Can´t really not belive in non of yall never heard of these 2 , they are legends . And will for ever be . REST IN PEACE PRODIGY ! Spent 100´s of hours listening to your lyrics , and not just all the mainstream stuff . Much love from denmark to u cartierfamily , keep up them videos coming .
I saw Prodigy in the corner in N Philly when he was in town for a show. He was my favorite writer for years. It took all my will power to just walk by him and say 'It's the P!' I for real wanted to be a nuisance but I didn't. RIP Prodigy.
Respect to y'all dudes! This is your history. The older generation needs to show respect to you the way you are demonstrating to us! Nuff Props respect n luv to the young cats!
The Infamous Mobb Deep. Glad u guys gave these dudes a listen. One of the best rap duos in Hip Hop and respected with in the genre. Prodigy (red shirt) died a few years back from sickle cell)..Prodigy is regarded as a RAP LEGEND amongst the best of them. Havoc (blue shirt) is regarded as one of the best producers in Hip Hop and a personal favourite of mine. Mobb Deeps discography is crazy. They later signed with Aftermath and did two albums under G-Unit. RIP Prodigy
I didnt even know it was possible not to know who Mobb Deep was .. especially this track... i think they play it everywhere on NBA2K etc for the younger generations
First off great channel and love the reactions. I do find it amazing that this was the first you heard of Mobb Deep. As someone who grew up on Long Island in the 90's, Mobb Deep was all over the pace (as were artists like Nas, Wu-Tang and others). Sometimes don't realize how spoiled we were with what we grew up on compared to other generations and/or other parts of the country,
The Song Exploder episode is a must-listen. Breaks down everything about how they sampled Herbie Hancock and Quincy Jones and made one of the hardest beats in history. RIP Prodigy.
That's how Hip Hop was back in the 90's. It was really all about the lyrics back then. Nas 17 when he first came out back in 1992 spitting lyrics like crazy.
Now imagine living it in Brooklyn Ny and being immersed in hiphop in NY in the 90s and being a Italian kid who was 6’7 and a baller as well !! It was a fantastic authentic time! And this song was a anthem in NY 💯🔥
Mobb Deep!!! One of the most successful rap duos of all time....sold over 3 million albums! I recall rollin' through town smokin' blunts and listening to some Mobb through most of the 90s lol
I been listening to Mobb Deep since the early 90's. The difference between rap then and now is rap then was the articulation of their life. Now it's about numbers.
Mobb deeps old shit was dope. Em said “there ain’t no such things as halfway crooks” in 8 mile in the last battle with papa doc. Paying homage to the Mobb.
I just stumbled upon this channel after you reacted to Nasty C but the fact that you guys live in America and listen to hip-hop but don't know Mobb deep is wild!!!!
keep hiphop alive ! Yo Prodigy was an influenser for Rap ! him and havoc sat down the standard for hiphop culture ! Mobb Deep ! was and will all ways be fire Yo ! R.I.P Prodigy we miss u son !
