Once the member/s reached their majority (19 in international age & 20 in korean age), they graduated (leave/won't participate anymore) out of the group. And then SM plans to debut more trainees through the brand NCT Dream while the original/graduated members go to NCT 127 (the other unit), WayV (Chinese unit), or few more "future" units at that time. The song you called masterpiece, We Go Up, is actually Mark Lee's last song with them last 2018 before he graduated. He graduated (officially) at the end of December and starting from 2019-2020, he's out of the group. NCT Dream, now as 6-member group, released Boom (32:52) and Ridin' as their comebacks. But more on Ridin' because that's a bit conflicting. Ridin' was promoted as a 6-member comeback, however, it was also announced by SM that they're dissolving the graduation system NCT Dream has and Mark will return to the group. On 2019, four members (Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin) were supposed to graduate at the end of the year because they're already 19/20 but they didn't. If they had, the unit would be left with 2 members for the meantime (Chenle, Jisung). But then came the announcement that the graduation system is dissolved. So technically Ridin' is their first comeback with Mark in the group but he wasn't part of the actual comeback and his first participation in the group was when they released the song Deja Vu, which is part of the NCT 2020 project [a project where all 23 members of NCT released two albums]. But their first OFFICIAL comeback as 7Dream, or as 7-membered unit again, is Hot Sauce [the song after Candy, the song in the beginning]. Graduation, the word, and the song themselves, hold different feelings and meanings for the members, the group and the fans. I hope the explanation is clear. I just got in the fandom last year so I didn't personally experience the post-graduation system era but I have been made aware by both the group and the fans on how painful and scary that whole time is. Because they don't know what the future will bring..
