@@ingvarjensen1088 It wasn’t a big single in the US (#70 on Billboard) so I didn’t know the remixes until a few years ago! So I’m good with the album version. 🥰 But the remixes are great!
Derek they are soon to release a new greatest hits collection that is a retrospective of their entire song catalogue to date with some new songs as well. Their current live shows are stunning.Their live shows are always visually astounding and sound amazing. This is my second favorite track from them. (matt)
Probably my fave PSB song. Yeh I agree this one is very complex, the mix is busy and I think that is meant to give you that "anarchy" and activity of the suburbs perhaps ? I loved this era of PSB, they really built songs to be cinematic... think of Left To My Own Devices and It's a Sin. Just EPIC as was your reaction Dereck ! x
This opens their latest tour (Dreamworld). Like others on here, I've seen it - twice, in my case: Bournemouth and Brighton, England, exactly a year apart, on 26 June 2022 and 2023. PSB has such a vast back-catalogue. Go see them if you ever get the chance
Only kid in my class to write PSB on my school bag. The fist fights I had because I was considered gay. I'm not gay, but I fought them anyway. PSB made me happy and still do.
I loved so much watching your reaction to “Suburbia” Dereck and that your bananas went wild, thank you!!! The mix in the video is definitely my favourite of all the versions with the epic intro, the menacing bridge leading into an instrumental break and then the final chorus with the drums more frenetic before the saxophone gets added in!!! The album version is heaps amazing too but doesn’t quite have the same punch and fire as the video mix! The B-side to the single “Paninaro” is another PSB gem as well! Also “Suburbia” is one of my all-time PSB songs along with “It’s A Sin” and “What Have I Done To Deserve This?” and I am also enjoying heaps the Smash 1985-2020 singles box set that they have released recently! Plus PSB released a super extended mix of the song called “Suburbia - The Full Horror” that’s also worth a listen! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YgwnZz0VVHM.html
I knew you were going to love Suburbia, it's a really amazing song. You can go with more classics of PSB like New York City The Sodom and Gmorrah Show, All over the World, Se a Vida e, etc. By the way, there is a full version of this song (the full horror mix).
A classic PSB sobg, always good and not outdated. The album is very good (my favorites are INTROSPECTIVE VERY and ELECTRIC.) A very good choice. Let's dance 😊
Do you find it good? Not even known; first time I hear it, they did much better! Even in France, they NEVER broadcast this song either on the radio or in a clip, no one talked about it, no trace in our most famous ranking! The proof went to the cemetery! lol
@@ambrenuance462 Yes in France nothing rating. On radio only at FG and Skyrock hrearing. In England Top, 4., Gernany top 10. Not sure UK, Austria and German fans will apreciate this track on graveyard. For exemple Lavoine was just top 20, belguim nothing... This one goes to graveyard not the PSB song. U still have to leran....
This one was much liked over here in Germany. It didn't top the charts, but was 4 weeks at no. 2 (in December '86) and from November '86 until mid January '87 in the Top 20. Listen to Suburbia (The full horror), it's the extended version, it's a banger!
You did indeed recognise it from the Brits melody. The intro to Suburbia and the song itself is a popular opening song for PSB live, so after Neil and Chris accept their award, Suburbia is used to open their 10 minute set. They essentially wanted to do something that people didn't expect after WEG and were instant icons with this. It's a freaking masterpiece.
If you want to start your Pet Shop Boys collecting now is the right time to buy their new collection of their singles; "SMASH!" 3-cd (55 tracks!) and 2 blurays with their videos.
Talking about Pet Shop Boys, try the "German PSB" Fancy, his voice reminds a lot Neil Tennant. I recommend: Fancy - Chinese eyes Waiting by the radio Bolero Lady of Ice
