The guitarist for Primus once described his solo on this song as "figuring out what the wrong notes were to play, and then playing only those."

I met Les Claypool. I want you to know he talks just like he sings and was so nice. My drummer said to Les “All I have heard since I met him so Primus and Les Claypool is the Greatest Bass Player” Les looked at me in the Primus voice and said “Cut it out” it was amazing. Of all the famous people I have met. Meeting Les and getting a photo is by far my favorite.

I think their song Fish On is so underrated. It’s always been one of my favorites. And the whole Frizzle Fry album is great.

Les Claypool is one of the most creative bassist ever. i love good bass lines and Primus never disappoints!

This was the first Primus song I heard as a teen, and immediately fell in love, especially for that odd quirkiness that pervades all their stuff. I definitely recommend Too Many Puppies and Lacquer Head by them, if you haven't heard them.

Primus is a musicians band. You appreciate the talent. You must watch a live performance. This band absolutely blows crowds away.

Pretty much the entire "Pork Soda" album is awesome.

"Weird" is a perfectly good descriptor for Primus.... They're so weird and so amazing! May I recommend their song, "Welcome to This World"?

I case anyone had trouble following the song, it's about a guy who murdered another dude with a bat because he scuffed his shoes. This is one of my favorite Primus songs, and as usually Larry's guitar is giving Les's bass a run for his money. This might be Larry's best guitar solo ever.

A true primus fan never reels back when they hear someone describe this band as weird.. a hard name to pin down in a genre hole

Do _Frizzle Fry,_ the song or the album, doesn't matter. Primus rules! Too Many Puppies, Toys Winding Down, To Defy The Laws Of Tradition, Is It Luck? Ok, idk if that last track is on Frizzle Fry or not, but everything on that album is good, I think. 🤔

Primus is very underrated. They are just different then any other band out there. Their song Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver make me chuckle like a school kid everytime I hear it.

We had our words… a common spat. So I kissed him upside the cranium with that aluminum baseball bat The delivery on those lines are so good.. 😂

Now you know why they never got bigger than this, despite having terrific musicians and a fascinating frontman. They were simply too counterintuitive for mainstream audiences

This was my first primus album. Found it through Beavis and Butthead. IT 100% changed me. I can 100% trace this album as one of my pivotal points in life.

Primus is a whole show, for sure. I drove 6 hours one way to catch them open for TOOL a few years back, best concert I ever saw.

The melody at the end of your videos always reminds me of (and might be a version of) the song “Pure Imagination” from the original “Willy Wonka” movie- and Primus did a whole album of songs from and inspired by “Willy Wonka,” including “Pure Imagination”! Primus is the heaviest band that doesn’t take itself seriously. You can crank it all the way up on your car and bounce! Heavier than many metal bands

Jerry was a Racecar Driver, John the Fisherman, Tommy the Cat. Check out the original videos before any live IMO. However, there is a very cool early session where they play live in a studio for a radio program that gives a great look at their early years. Les is unique, as is Larry, and Tim (Herb) Alexander is one of the greatest drummers around. They frequently open for Tool so there you go.

Their own style? Unusual lyrics? You need to check out Frank Zappa! He is a musical genius. High expectations for his band mates, complicated rhythms, chord changes, etc.

"They're just so weird." Yep, that's Primus.

I saw them open for RUSH in Houston in the early 90’s and was too feeble musically to appreciate them. Now at 55.. I have rediscovered them and absolutely see, hear and feel their genius.

Remember watching this, after 23 or 11 o'clock on Mtv.. and thinking this is something even stranger than Beavis & Butthead. But I couldn't stop watching because of the text, voice and video Edit* That was actually the case with many 90's alt rock videos. They were usually also alternative

I just saw Les sing with The Residents (huge influence on Les, especially his singing) last weekend. Dude wore a pig mask and the shiniest gold jacket that had been designed for him by Elvis' clothing designer. What a king.

I'm happy that you came back to Primus and this track no less. Mr. Krinkle should be one of the next few songs to check out. That video is pretty cool actually.

Primus is one of the most original, unorthodox bands to exist; their originality is only dwarfed by their weirdness.

One thing I love about Primus is that although ever song is highly experimental and completely different from each other style wise, you always know it's Primus. 🤘❤️

I love that you are still reacting to Primus, they've been my favourite band for nearly 2 decades now. Ler's guitar work has always been unconventional in Primus as he writes to suit the Primus sound. He sounded completely different when he was in Death Metal bands. I'd recommend "Groundhog's Day" at Bonnaroo 2011 as it has a nice improvised jam for the solo.

Now try Southbpund Pachyderm, Over the Electric Grapevine,, Mr. Knowitall, Fish On, Del Davis Tree Farm... I don't know, they're my favorite band even though they suck.

They did a tour where they played the entire Charlie and the Chocolate Factory soundtrack. My friend is a drum tech and toured with Primus, so he & I got to watch from the sound/video recording area in front of the stage. Easily one of the greatest live shows I've ever seen.

Just discovered your channel today, love the chill reactions.. You should check out the Primus song "Lacquerhead". Larry's guitar playing is exceptional on that.. Also maybe give Mr. Bungle a go..

Have been trolling all your reaction for over an hour now. Going to subscribe. Dig ya. But please stop doing live renditions. They suck 75% of the time and most of us listen to and associate more w the recorded version. PLEASE GIVE SEETHER A TRY. My favorite band since the early 2000's. So many great songs to chose from. Lead singer partnered w Amy Lee for 1 of their most reacted to. They were engaged and did a few hits together. My opinion she did him dirty. But whatever you chose from Seether will be great. "Careless whispers" is the best cover song I have ever heard.

Also consider listening to Les in the Claypool Lennon Delirium with John Lennon's son Sean Lennon who is a great artist themselves. Blood and Rockets is an awesome track of their's as well as Bubbles Burst. Also also, got to find your way to other amazing bassists Victor Wooten either in his solo work or with Bella Fleck and the Flecktones. And Geddy Lee with the band "Rush" for other amazing wtf did I just listen to vibes. And Neil Perts drumming is on another level. Great Rush tracks to start are Spirit of Radio, Tom Sawyer, Closer to the heart, and Working Man. Primus toured playing the entire Rush album A Farewell to Kings along with their own Primus songs.

Yea a friend of mine really liked them when they 1st came out in the 80s. That was a long time ago. Certainly a unique sound. I'm going to see Les Claypools Flying Frog Brigade in July , they're doing Pink Floyd's Animals so I'm not sure what it'll be like. It's at a small venue.

Primus might be the only band who's best songs have never been singles.

Pretty sure you'd appreciate The Residents, Devo and Polysics since the weird factor doesn't deter you. And if your in to experience a full-on crazy rollercoaster piece of music, I recommend you "de Futura" by Magma.

Idk how old you are or where you grew up but here in DFW in the early 9os this song was played on the radio all the time. Like it was a hit. Might as well have been backstreet boys. Not only that the video was played frequently. Definitely a 90s sound. Early 90s.
