Iconic song and iconic band. There is a whole Queen Army out here and they span every age bracket. Queen has a catalog of over 200 songs so there is a lot to explore. Next should probably be Somebody To Love Live at Montreal. You will see Freddie's amazing vocal talents and the whole band's attention to detail as well as how Freddie has the audience eating out of his hand as he engages them with just a word. Thank you for this reaction.

@@theinsideouter6371 Yes, I loved the Beatles and the Stones also but Queen brought a whole new energy even through they definitely were huge fans and highly respected the Beatles and the Stones, even emulated them in some ways. Music always inches forward and new things get added. What I feel is the worst thing to happen to music is the loss of interest in radio. Radio gave us an entire banquet of music and we got to taste it all, the old, the new and everything in between. We actually got cultured and did not get stuck in a tiny circle of music "that was currently trending". The current music spectrum is so so narrow and there is nothing to keep us interested. In 5 years we won't even remember their names. Yesterday someone was reacting to Rocket Man. He had never heard of Elton John and thought that he was probably a one hit wonder. How hollow my musical life would have been without the likes of people like Joe Walsh or Eddie Van Halen, and all the greats who's names were often hidden in groups. People don't know the name Mick Jagger or Keith Richards today, even if they may have heard of the Rolling Stones. I miss radio and I miss hearing the decades of music every single day in the background of my life.

The most influential band in the history of Rock Pop music. Certainly the most talented BY FAR! Queen earned every damn letter in the word " Genius". As one British columnist once stated in his paper , the day after attending a Queen concert. He described Queen's music as, " Sheer Bloody Poetry".

I wasn’t ‘there’-on the set where they filmed the BoRhap video, but I’m in my early 60’s and was smart enough as a young college kid to move heaven and earth to get myself to a couple of Queen concerts in the late ‘70’s, where they played this song and many other amazing cuts. Queen concerts were amazing! Four incredibly talented musicians working together to give you the experience of a lifetime, every time. They’re all terrific but Freddie was a complete force of nature. Clearly made for the stage; he put on quite a show but never did anything that didn’t appear to be 100% genuine. Even tho I sometimes wish I was your age, one of the best things about being my age is having known Queen almost my whole life. Thanks for doing this reaction!! Please do more Queen!

If you know We are the Champions from sporting events, you will most likely also know We Will Rock You, and Another One Bites the Dust. Queen could do any genre you can name, their catalogue is very diverse. I strongly recommend Somebody to Love live at Montreal 1981. Live! No auto tune or any sort of computer generated bells and whistles, it wasn’t invented yet. Bands had to be able to do it all back then and Queen always put something extra into their live performances. It’s jaw droppingly good

This is 1975 Glam Rock days (hence the clothing, nailpolish) but definitely NOT what other videos were at the time...it was groundbtreaking. At a cost of $5000 made to take their place on a Brit TV pivotal show, it changed how music would be marketed forever (MTV). All these years later, still influencing artists and bands. Lots to discover with this band.

If you like varied genres, you really only need to listen to Queen. 😁 Because all 4 members wrote their music coming in with different influences the have music from multiple genres including rock, metal, rockabilly, folk, blues, gospel, funk, opera and more. The final lineup formed in 1971. They have 15 studio albums, 10 live albums and multiple compilation albums. The band: Freddie Mercury - vocals, piano, guitar. Had a degree in graphic design and designed all Queen's logos. Died of AIDS related illness in 1991. Brian May - guitar, vocals, piano. Has a PhD in astrophysics and consults with NASA. Built his guitar with his father out of an old fireplace and oak table and other odds and ends. Roger Taylor - drums, vocals, piano, guitar. Has a degree in biology and was in dentistry school until Queen got serious. John Deacon - bass, backing vocals in concert, guitar, piano. Has an advanced degree in electrical engineering and designed a unique amp called the Deaky Amp out of parts he found on the trash. Brian still uses it to this day. Retired from music in 1997. SHORT list: Somebody To Love Montreal "81 Live Aid '85 Liar Rainbow '74 White Queen Hammersmith Odeon '75 Dragon Attack Montreal '81 Save Me Montreal '81 Don't Stop Me Now official video You Take My Breath Away Hyde Park Brighton Rock Hammersmith Odeon Another One Bites The Dust Wembley '86 Love of My Life Rio '85 Who Wants to Live Forever Wembley '86 "Barcelona" & "Golden Boy" by Freddie & Montserat Caballe (opera)

I was 14 when this came out on 1975. It blew all of our minds. This was the glam rock era. This was the first actual video..this is where they got the idea for MTV imo since MTV didn't premier until 1981. This all came from Freddie's head. He was working on 3 songs and found some way to blend them together in an epic Rock Opera.

Queen is a British rock group that was formed in 1970 consisting of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocalist John Deacon - Bass guitar Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals Queen was one of the most influential musical groups of the 20th century. Not only were all of the 4 members of Queen skilled and talented musicians, but they were also all composers and had top ten hit singles. Bohemian Rhapsody (BoRap) was composed by Freddie Mercury. Yes, there were wings on Freddie's jumpsuit. After all, his last name is Mercury - as in messenger of the ancient gods. This video (which, BTW is considered the first music video and was the catalyst for the creation of MTV) was recorded in 1975 while Queen was still in their Glam Rock phase. Queen was a group that grew and changed to reflect changing the tastes of the public. Queen produced 15 studio albums and had numerous hit singles that were gold and platinum. You said you know of "We Are The Champions". Well, you probably also have heard, "We Will Rock You" and "Another One Bites The Dust". Queen is one of the groups where they are even better LIVE than in the studio. Take one of my favorite songs is "Somebody To Love". The studio version is wonderful but the Live version, performed in 1981 in Montreal, will blow you out of the water. Queen was talented enough that they could perform Rock, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Thrash Rock, Progressive Rock, Rockabilly, Glam Rock, Ballads, Soul, R&B, Disco, Folk, Opera, Funk, etc. Here's a list of Queen songs you should start with: 1 . Don't Stop Me Now - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HgzGwKwLmgM.html 2. The Show Must Go On - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t99KH0TR-J4.html (FYI this was recorded in 1991 just months before Freddie Mercury passed from AIDS-related pneumonia.) 3. Another One Bites the Dust - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rY0WxgSXdEE.html 4. We are the Champions - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FP808MiJUcM.html 5. Somebody to Love (studio version) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kijpcUv-b8M.html 6. Somebody to Love (Live version) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aA2IRoPFIn0.html 7. Under Pressure - (With David Bowie) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YoDh_gHDvkk.html (Yes, Vanilla Ice stole the bass riff & used it in his song Ice Ice Baby) 8. White Queen - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f8usNj4x9NA.html 9. Liar - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AdWtxjfmKC4.html 10. Nice reaction! Queen does Bohemian Rhapsody the best because it is their song, it was written by lead singer Freddie Mercury. He is most often chosen as the best vocalist of all time, he could really sing any genre of music authentically. Queen are the 4th best selling artist of all time. Bohemian Rhapsody is a rock opera and falls under the genre of Progressive Rock. For something similar from Queen check out Innuendo - Queen.

I love Queen. Their catalog is worth driving into. Freddie Mercury ,lead singer had a degree in Graphic Arts he designed the logo for Queen. Was usually in charge of their theme outfits. Lead guitarist, Brian May has a doctorate in astrophysics, has worked with NASA and been dean of a University. He and his Dad made the guitar he plays. John Deacon has degree in electrical engineering. He created the Deaky amp for Brian May. Drummer Roger Taylor has a degree in biology and studied dentistry. All 4 members of Queen have written at least 3 top ten hits. Not only are they in the Rock n Roll hall of Fame but each one of them has been inducted into the songwriters hall of Fame. WHAT A GREAT REACTION, THANK YOU for reacting to Queen & Freddie Mercury! THIS IS CREDITED WITH BEING THE FIRST-EVER MUSIC VIDEO. FYI: The a capella section at the beginning - even though it shows all 4 band members lip syncing - is actually ALL just Freddie Mercury; he recorded himself singing 5 different harmonies, then overlaid them together. (Freddie did that a lot in their studio recordings; one of the things he's known is creating complex harmonies.) It would be GREAT if you could react to a LIVE version of this song now, just to see the difference between Queen in-studio and Queen live. (This MV - even tho it looks like they're in a live performance - is actually the studio recording w a "performance" they did for the making of the video.) THE BEST LIVE VERSION on-video is probably at MONTREAL IN 1981. P.S. Freddie Mercury DID actually record an entire album of OPERA in 1987, with Spanish operatic soprano Montserrat Caballe. This was the FIRST time that singers/musicians from two different genres crossed-over to make an album together. Queen & Freddie did many MANY "firsts"... The first "thrash metal" song - "Stone Cold Crazy"; this MV - the first music video; they did the first stadium concerts and were the first western band to play behind the Iron Curtain; Michael Jackson got the idea for his one metallic glove & military look from Freddie (Fred & MJ were friends and recorded THREE songs together); when you see "Somebody To Love" live, you'll see Fred doing the first rapping. Freddie Mercury had a four-octave vocal range and has been voted Best Vocalist/Best Front Man in rock music; the lead guitarist Brian May has been voted Best Guitarist in rock music... each of the four band members is individually inducted into the Hall of Fame for writing Number 1 songs... they've done every genre of music you can think of. I really REALLY hope you'll react to MORE QUEEN & FREDDIE!

Here’s all you need to know about Queen: Four members, Freddie Mercury is the lead singer playing on the piano, Brian May is the lead guitar player, John Deacon is also a guitar player, and Roger Taylor is on drums. All very talented on their own but amazing as a group. They are widely and rightfully praised as the best rock band in history and Freddie Mercury is hailed as one of the best pure singers and performers of music history. Queen was great in studio but ten times better in live performances. You should check out these live performances and react: “Somebody To Love” from Montreal in 1981, “Love of My Life” from Wembley Stadium in 1986, and definitely what is the best event and live performance of all time, Queen’s 1985 Live Aid concert. You’ll be blown away by how awesome they are in the latter especially with Freddie Mercury having voice issues and being advised not to perform. He kills it anyway. Great reactions!

You couldn't be more right. This song is from a time when singers could actually *sing.* There was no auto tune to make someone seem like they have way more talent than they actually do. Freddie Mercury was not only one of the greatest singers of all time, he was one of the greatest showmen ever. He was so incredibly charismatic and the way he interacted with a crowd is unlike anything I have never seen to this day. It's like he put them in a trance. The rest of the members of Queen were also extremely talented musicians. They were not one of those bands where you could just get another guitarist or drummer. Every single one of them made significant contributions to the band's overall success. Great reaction, sir!

Nice reaction 👏👏 I think the “eye wings” may have originated a bit before Freddie in 1975 :) …. Look at the Egyptians ! However, it was of its time. If you are going n the Queen discovery journey will willingly join you. First and foremost , Queen are as good live as studio …. Incredible musicians and one of worlds most amazing frontmen ever. Recommend “somebody to love” live in Montreal 1981 and then “who wants to live forever” live at Wembley 1986. Of course Queens iconic 20 minute set at the 1985 charity event “Live Aid” Just a few suggestions 👑❤️👑

Freddie Mercury is an insane rock vocalist. But even if you strip that away, he's one of the best singers you'll ever hear. GOAT, no question. Additionally, every member of Queen could probably have led a successful band on their own. Put them all together and you get something really special.

Queen are Freddie Mercury (Piano and lead Vocals); Brian May (lead guitar and vocals); Roger Taylor (drums & vocals) and John Deacon (bass and some vocals). The group produced 15 albums. This is off of their 4th album: A Night At the Opera. This was recorded Analog - digital did not exist yet. Freddie was 29, Brian was 28, Roger was 26 and John was 24 the year this was recorded. This band is ICONIC and if you listen to more you will never regret it. I agree you should hear the Live 1981 version of Somebody To Love. And another good one is "White Queen" live, 1975 - at the Hammersmith Odeon.

My first time watching you react and you NAILED it! You picked a great song and I was impressed with your observations! You called it all from the bling, outfits, stage presence, buckets of talent and tempo/style changes! You did good, REAL GOOD! If you’re up for a challenge, find the live version of Frank Zappa - Inca Roads (A Token Of His Extreme) and definitely strap on your seat belt, it’s another wild ride!

Queen is epic. One of the best rock bands ever. Definitely explore their music. Watch their Live Aid set - it’s been called the best live rock performance of all time. Also Pentatonix does a cover of this song that is off the charts. Brian May, the guitarist, was so impressed he put a link on Queens social media to the video.

They also play "Another one bites the dust" at sports games. And Queen was the very 1st band to create a music video. So if not for Queen there may not have been an MTV

Watch the Queen set (20 minutes) at the Live Aid concert in July 1985. Absolute master class in both performance and audience control. Widely regarded as the best set of the whole concert which was in put on to raise money to ease starvation in Ethiopia.

Queen is the second best group in history after the Beatles. Their rabbit hole is deep! Many different styles to the group. Many top 40 hits in the 70's & 80's. Great album cuts as well! Always on the cutting edge, Queen very seldom disappoints. Try their album cut called White Man from the 1976 album called A Day At The Races. It's hard to go wrong with this fantastic and classic group.

To create the wall of sound in the operatic chorus, they spent about 10 hrs. recording 180 overdubs on a reel-to-reel tape recorder. - 1975 technology. Freddie was working on 3 different songs & had the idea to combine them into 1 piece. A rhapsody is a musical work that is episodic but integrated featuring highly contrasting moods Freddie's has intro, ballad, opera, rock & reflective coda. He created something people still love & are fascinated by 48 yrs.later.

As I said 3 months ago, I grew up with Queen and many other genres of music from Queen to Enya. I also said that I'm gay. Losing Freddie to HIV was like losing a best friend. It's up to you as a straight man to say fuck hate. We're losing too many people to HIV gay and straight and now of course Covid 19. You are who you are. I have many straight friends and I love them all. Just do the best you can and show support to a friend who might come out to you down the track. I'm 61 but feel 25. It doesn't matter if you're hearing this for the first time. I heard this masterpiece for the first time at 15 years of age. I have all of Queens albums amongst hundreds of other artists. The world is in a mess but music always makes us feel better no matter what happens. Cheers dude. Andrew from OZ! PS! You look like a kind guy. Stand up for someone if they're being called a fa@@ot. No one needs to hear such ugly words. Cheers from the other land of the free and home of the brave.

Oh and I love how Roger’s high pitched voice carries on when they sing “let him go”. Brian said in a documentary about recording Bohemian Rhapsody that Roger didn’t actually do that. Freddie did when he was engineering the song. I never really noticed it until I saw the documentary. Roger became very HOT 🫦🫦. After he cut his hair. OMG - he melted my butter 😍😍

This video is basically what started music videos and MTV and they didn’t even mean to pioneer a whole movement with it. They just made it as a ‘promotional film’ bcuz they couldn’t were touring and couldn’t appear on a tv show to promote the song so they made this to play instead. One of Freddie’s quotes from the 80’s was "We are in a golden age of music. There will be a time when technology becomes so advanced that we'll rely on it to make music rather than raw talent...and music will lose its soul." And how right he was! Freddie was a legend!
