They did a medley of Now I’m Here, a shortened but highly epic version of Dragon Attack and then went back and ‘Reprised’ Now I’m Here. Dragon Attack, it’s funky, so so sexy and in my top 5 live performances. John’s bass drives the whole thing, the whole band are just having a jam session, so good

"Shirtless Freddie". LOL I love the full concerts where he starts off with pants, some sort of shirt, and a jacket, and shoes too and ends up with short shorts alone. Freddie didn't have an incredible physique (don't jump down my throat, of course he was perfect) but he was so comfortable in his own skin that he could pull this off in front of thousands of people and not bat an eye. That's commendable! Remember his interview where he said something like if people got tired of listening to his singing he might become a stripper or something? I also get a kick out of him singing in the bubble bath every time I watch it. He was Freddie all the way and not embarrassed.

I LOVE that bubble bath video TOO💕 "...at Melina's house!" And I totally get what you're saying: Fred was so COMFORTABLE in his own skin onstage, he just didn't care. Like in the 70s when he was wearing the different one-piece leotards: At least one time (I'm sure there were LOTS of times) he apparently got too hot and so just pulled the top half of the onesie down and tied the sleeves around his waist to keep it flopping/falling off!😅

“Dragon 🐉🐉 Attack” penned by Brian is a hard-rocking early cut from Queen’s 1980 album, The Game. 🥁 Roger Taylor has listed it as one of his favorite songs out of Queen’s discography, while guitarist 🎸🌟 Brian May admitted it was completed from late night to early morning, while they were “probably very drunk 🍺😵.” Although this song is not one of Queens most popular, it was a live staple of theirs for years. This was inspired by their time in Munich. That’s why “Mack”, producer at Musicland Studios, is mentioned and “the room where the beats all round” along with the line “take me back to The Shack” is referencing a cool club all members and crew frequented in Munich called the Sugar Shack.

Queen does do transitions really well. They do fine medleys transitions too , always bringing them back to some part of the first song they play in the set. oh, what am I saying ? I just LOVE QUEEN! The "Now I'm Here REPRISE" is the from the song before Dragon Attack, they'd played "Now I'm Here" just prior, so they just brought it full swing and closed it.

This is one of my favorite performances ever. Each one of them smashed the hell out of it. Great reaction! The lyrics were written, as I understand it, after the instrumentation came out of a jam session, so I don’t think it’s that poetic kind of song you have to stress over ‘not getting.’ It’s about them being artisans of their respective instruments ❤️

I don't think there is one clear answer to what Dragon Attack is about, but I may be wrong. I always heard it started in a jam session. Written by Brian, you have to assume the "dragon" is either his love/obsession with music, or perhaps women? Because the whole song sounds sexy as hell. I don't really think anyone knows for sure since the guys have said on many occasions that they never shared the meaning of their songs. I do love that he mentions their new producer, Mack. This is only about maybe half of Dragon Attack and the rest is a reprise (encore) of a song they played earlier that evening Now I'm Here. I always thought Dragon Attack was about the recording studio/music business...there's a reference to their producer Reinhold Mack ("It's Gotta Be Mack"). You might try the studio version, it may make more sense. Brian wrote it, so the dragon on his back may be his guitar.

This song was written/recorded in Munich 1980. It was conceived after a night out at the Sugar Shack, a frequented nightclub (take me back to the shack), and they were all tipsy. “Give me the rack” could be a rack of speakers, and “Gotta be Mack” refers to Mack Reinhold, their studio engineer, who went with them (at times)and was in the Munich recording studio with them. Freddie and John were Mack’s youngest sons godfathers. The “Dragon on my back” may be Brian’s guitar. Per Benoit Clerc (he wrote a book “QUEEN All the Songs, story behind every track”), this song’s sound was influential in Aerosmith’s WALK THIS WAY w/ Run-DMC done in 1986. He also stated the Queen song was influential on the “rock-rap fusion movement that followed. Even the attack of the solo on ‘Walk This Way’, which begins at 1:32, is reminiscent of the solo on Queen’s track, which starts at 1:00.”

It has all the things, crowd interaction by Freddie, I absolutely love the way Freddie moves in this video, he covers the entire stage, Roger and amazing drums, Brian’s awesome solo’s and riff’s, and an outstanding bass by John. The song itself is awesome, it is clever, the entire song is pure fire, kinda like a dragon? Even the sounds Freddie makes is dragon like? And I know when Roger drops his head to keep time on those drums and maybe to settle into it, he has a workout ahead, and it is so funny when Freddie comes along and messes with him! Love Queen Sundays. Sassy Freddie is the best Freddie. All the boys kill it here. The end result of a drunken jam session. “Take me back to the shack” is a reference to the dive bar they all frequented in Germany. FYI-A reprise is a repetition of musical material heard earlier in a composition, album, or live performance. Repeated sections of songs are reprises. So are motifs that re-appear in a section of a classical sonata or a Hollywood film score. So, too, are songs that come back toward the end of a musical theater production. 😎

Those Adidas that Freddie wears are boxing shoes...they are super flexible and comfortable. I love t his song...it is so amped up. Bass rocks and Brian's solos are unbelievable. John said this is his favorite song to play live. That echo is called cannon effect. It is a delay/repeat with several layers. Brian really likes using this. Prophet's song has a lot of it and is an amazing song. A reprise is a musical repetition of something already played.

If you want to get a bit of a vibe of how the band interacts with each other I would strongly suggest "The making of One Vision" There are 2 versions. Pick the longer one (only about min longer) It's 22min 23 seconds. Also there is a reaction session where the now much older Brian and Roger watch (most of) the Montreal concert and react to it (suggest turning on the CC for that) Just hit playlist and one will flow into the next. Probably have to chop it up into a few videos though as it's about an hour plus long. So worth it though. You learn a lot about behind the scenes stuff from 2 of the guys who know it best. ru-vid.complaylists There are several out there. I just watched Queen Absolute Greatest With Commentary. (43 minutes) Various lengths. It's really cool that they did this type of thing. You learn so much.

One of my favourite performances too! reprise in this context means, a short repetition of an earlier piece of music; the song before Dragon Attack was Now I’m Here, the reprise was a short instrumental and bits of lyrics from that song. Queen often did this and medley’s (a few songs running into the next, not full songs).

I believe the song is about all of the different places they recorded, like a description of the rooms. One was Black and white, one was his red reference, correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure I read or heard that somewhere? ❤️

If you really want to see a good live version of this song, watch them doing it at The Bowl (Milton Keynes) from 1982. In this one, the lyrics are screwed up, the song just kind of ends, and is not very good. (Granted, it's Queen live so it's still good, but not anywhere near great like the '82 version.) As a bonus, Brian breaks a string and has to switch guitars, so John does the bass solo that was never done live.

Thank you for reacting to my request. 🥰 You should check out their performance of "Now I'm Here" at Wembley (their Saturday night concert). In my opinion, it was the best performance of the night! The whole band were amazing as always, but Freddie and Roger just killed it! #EPIC 💯🤘👑

Oh this has to be one of my all time favourite Queen live performances. You should definitely react to the version of this song at Milton Keynes 1982, there's a little mishap with Brian's guitar, so there's an impromptu bass fill from John, but it's completely solid. And also my personal favourite live rendition of Somebody To Love is from Milton Keynes'82 so you can consider that too! And as for their transitions and impromptu jamming, you can check out 'impromptu' from Wembley'86, Freddie hits some high notes on there.

Adidas, yes!!! We have something in common, Rad. I started wearing Adidas in 7th grade, and even had a pair of Adidas boxing boots like Freddie wore but of course outgrew those teenage years' shoes fairly quickly. But what we really have in common-- I was wearing those before, long before, I'd even heard of Queen or Freddie Mercury. And, yes, I still wear Adidas, or nothing at all. Great reaction as always my man-- and Queen Sundays, I'm all in!

Freddie is not wearing Adidas. They are the soft soled shoes that boxers wear. (He boxed in his boys school). He had the stripes added to look like Adidas. They lace up high to support ankle movement. Check out his videos to see the soles.

The song starts at the 2 min mark Everything before is crowd fun I love the slink he does at the start of the song kicking those legs out at the knee and dragging the back leg's toe behind. Lucious! Roger (drummer) has said this is the hardest song for him - hard on his wrists This is a 2 night show being filmed as one concert. The film makers PISSED the band off by forcing the crowd to stay seated and be quiet (so opposite to what Queen is all about) and then told the band to wear and do everything the same the 2nd night. AGAIN completely not what Queen is about. So during the encor night 2 Freddie purposely wore the short short white shorts to screw with the continuity. The fact they played angry is testament to the upmost professionalism and amazing showmanship! The song is about drugs (colored pills)

😂 Freddie was mad at all of the cameras, there was a point to them all, which I won’t go into here. The entire band was mad but especially Freddie. The entire thing interfered and that was not something that Queen was okay with, no matter what the point of all it was. The people filming had a goal to it all, (honestly we are the lucky recipients of it because this was recorded with the best they had in cameras and sound at that time) but there were audience rules, they didn’t want them moving around, etc, they tried band rules and you can imagine how that went. They were suppose to wear the same clothes for the 2 nights in Montreal but the 2nd night Freddie came out in the tiniest white shorts you have ever seen, no shirt, barefoot, a bandana tied around his neck and a baseball cap. It makes me laugh just thinking about it. Try to make Freddie Mercury follow rules, what were they even thinking? Should have gone to plan B? 😂

John's bass carries many of their songs but unless you are familiar with bass it can get swallowed up in the overall sound. Actually @7:20, it looks like Brian gets a little out of synch and John does a countdown with his arm to get them back together.

I've been binge watching your queen videos and I have one suggestion. Yes, queen was awesome live, BUT the filmed concerts often had overdubs- as in - they added alterations over top of the original performance. (This song was fine though) This is an example from the Montreal show from '81 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oHXaQrWUhec.html

Loved today's 3 reactions. Looking forward to next Sunday. OK, another plug for "The Show Must Go On." Brian wrote most of it, but was hesitant to give it to Freddie because it's really challenging and his health was not good. Freddie downed a shot of vodka and said "I'll fucking do it darling!" then nailed it in one take. Brian still regards this as one of Freddie's best vocals. WHEN you react to this song (because it's a MUST), I suggest not using the official version because it's just a bunch of clips from past videos. Freddie was too sick to perform this live, and generally, I would never recommend a fan-made video, but someone pieced together clips from a 1986 concert in Hungary to make it appear they're performing "Show Must Go On" live. I showed it to my son and when I told him this never happened, even he was impressed, and he's a millennial. LOL ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-36ncula-IDw.html
