When was there ever a composer who left the stage with such a bang as Rachmaninoff? I can't think of any other one whose final work is such a statement.
I really like how you two look in this video! Also, amazing piece. It quotes the Dies Irae theme, the medieval chant for the dead, a theme Rachmaninoff was obsessed with and quoted very frequently in his music. I think this was his last piece he wrote before his death too. Amazing piece. The 1st movement has a to-die-for melody that is FOUR minutes long.
It was his last orchestral piece he wrote before his death. The last piece he wrote before his death was a piano transcription of a lullaby by Tchaikovsky.
You guys clearly love music. it is indeed possible to love rock and classical as you demonstrate! Plz check out and react to Grigory Sokolov playing the final movement of Prokofiev Piano Sonata 7. Think you’ll enjoy it.
The google synth was so wrong, it was worse than any foreigner's attempt. It's pronounced [sergei rah maninof]. No, the h is not silent, as it wouldn't be needed to write it out in transscription, so it's voiced. The g is standard, and not ji.
