You asked about the thing on his arm and no, he's not injured! It's gel to protect them from the heat of the fire that's in their acts. At least the singer (though I believe at this point the rest of the band might have followed suit) is a licensed pyrotechnician.
In German du hast (you have) and du hasst (you hate) sound the same. The song mentions wedding vows and the nein (no) response. The "du hast mich" could be either an offer (you have me), or an accusation (you hate me). It's written one way but shouted like it was the other way.
@@mike-xn1qj I only mention it because it's reinforcing the duality of the lyrics even more. Not only is the question asked between the lines of love and hate, but the answer is ambigious as well. One parts says yes, one says no, which one will it be in the end?
@@baka_yu9343 I wasn't attempting an examination of the entire song. Usually, just getting to the wedding vows part implies that both have made the offer, the accusation might be the new development.
"Du hast mich gefragt" -> "You have me asked" "Und ich hab nein gesagt" -> "and I have no said" German language puts the verb at the end 😕 Basically she asked him if he would be faithful till the end of time.... and then he said no 😛
@@Emeralds_ Thank you for your comment 🙂 Unfortunately I made a mistake in the translation.... I should have written this: "Und ich hab nichts gesagt" -> "and I nothing said".... He ends by saying Nein=>no when he is asked if he will be faithfull till the end of time ... Sorry.
hell, this show is perfection in the purest sense ! I don't really know if FDNY had allowed this pyrotechniques in Big Apple / M.S.G. But I fuckin' love it !
They sing in German. In just a few songs they put in some lines in other languages. For many of Rammstein's videos there are English subtitles available. To find a lot of them, you may search on RU-vid for: "educated marine rammstein" + songname For live videos of Rammstein songs, www.youtube.com/@Bucksttabu/playlists is a good source. In case of Rammstein, precise translations of the lyrics is hard work (and sometimes not possible in subtitles), because they are playing many times with double meanings of words or slightly modify common German expressions and symbolic language pictures to invert or change their meanings. (That is even used in the very simple lyrics of this song "Du hast".) Lyrics of this song in a short explanation: The first three words are "Du hast mich" (you have me) which at that moment doesn't make any sense in German. But it sounds (intentionally) the same as "Du hasst mich" (you hate me). Later in the song, the first three words are extended to a full sentence: "Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt." (You asked me and I did not answer.) And then, to show what he was asked, the chorus is a wedding vow: "Willst Du bis der Tod euch scheidet treu ihr sein für alle Tage?" (Do you want to be faithful to her for all days until death do us part?) This is answered first by a kind of female voice "Ja" (yes) and afterwards by Till's harsh voice "Nein!" (No!). These - plus a slightly obscene word play on the wedding vow, that I will not explain here - are the whole lyrics (repeated a few times). What videos to watch from Rammstein? I have a "few" suggestions. If you want to see more of their (incredible) live performances I would suggest Rammlied (live from Madison Square Garden) Engel (live from Madison Square Garden) Sonne (live at Rock im Park 2017) Links 2 3 4 (live from Madison Square Garden) Ich will (live from Hurricane Festival 2016) Ich tu dir weh (live from Madison Square Garden) (don't take the lyrics too serious) Mein Teil (live at Hurricane Festival 2013) Amazing official videos Sonne (Sun) heavy, screwed up fairy-tale Links 2 3 4 (left) partly heavy march Ich will (I want) heavy, simple, way to celebrity Spring! (Jump!) (fan-made animated version with english subtitles) slow, partly heavy, very dark sarcasm! Radio (Radio) catchy song (with serious background) Keine Lust (not in the mood) heavy, funny, slidely sad Mein Herz brennt (My heart burns) scary, nightmarish, very special Amerika (America) catchy, not a love song Mein Land (My land), sounds & looks like easy living (unless you look at the slightly developing of the lyrics) Newest official videos from their last album "Zeit" in sequence of the tracks on the album: Zeit (Time) slow, dark, melancholic, emotional Zick Zack (Snip Snap) catchy song, sarcastic, funny Angst (Fear) very Rammstein, scary, credits at the end are helpful to understand the message Dicke Titten (Big Boobs) heavy (most of the time), catchy, funny, credits are funny too (my view) Adieu (Goodbye) dark, sometimes heavy, emotional Last but not least the great (but not nice) video "Deutschland" which has a lot of references to (mostly unpleasent) parts of German history. Video, lyrics, and sound are great (my view) and work very well together. I wish you to enjoy your Rammstein journey.
