Warren Demartini is most definitely slept on massively!! One of the best guitarists to come out of L.A. back then along with Eddie and Randy of course as well as George Lynch!!!
Say it LOUDER for the people in the back!!!!! These new cats need to know! Warren was a GOD back then. If you lived it, you know. If you didn't, well .. I'm sorry.
I did not get to see them live until around 2005, I think. It was Ratt opening for Poison...yes, Ratt Poison. I was in high school when both bands were cranking out hits and I am not sure if Ratt actually played nearby where I grew up. I did see Warrant and Poison in '90, in my area. I just don't recall ever seeing Ratt touring nearby then.
Robin's nickname was King and he made the regular flying V guitar look small, so Jackson made the bigger V called the King V. I believe that's the story.
This was shot in my hometown of Tucson, AZ. It's at Old Tucson Studios where a lot of classic westerns were shot. They came into town for a show then stuck around to shoot the video.
Out of the Cellar and Invasion of Your Privacy were fairly big albums for this band. Way Cool Jr. might have been the last big video that aired on MTV back then. Good band with a heavy sound considering the Glam Rock era was taking over. Hard to go wrong with this band .
Way Cool Jr. is an awesome song BUT, not even close to being "the last big video played on MTV". It dropped in 1988. Nirvana didn't kill the metal video genre until 92'. That's an entire 4 years of videos since Jr. came out. Example: Van Halen had "Finish What You Started", GNR had "Patience" and in 1988.... Metallica had "One" and I PROMISE you, nothing touched "One" in 1988. NOTHING. It was the metal video of the year.
@@MacMc691 All good brother. I was just responding on how it was worded. You said "Way Cool Jr. might have been the last big video that aired on MTV" I appreciate your response back but you can see where the confusion might be?
Now you need to do Lack of Communication off the same album!! That was the second cassette lol, that I bought as a impressionable 7th grader lol!! Love the band.
I really like the song but the lack of a great guitar solo really hinders the song from being fantastic since it gets a little too repetitive. I never understood why since every other song contains a tasty solo.
"BURRRRCHHHH" Hey buddy, it's been a minute since I could login and comment. Hope all is well! Proud to be an early sub of the channel always! First, Ratt ROCKS!. Saw them at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia MD. with Warren in the group. They slayed. Second, WHEN IS ALEXIS GONNA DROP THIS BABY??!!! My best wishes on a healthy newborn! XD
We thought you had gone into witness protection! 3 more weeks for the baby, not long now. Send me an email if you want a t-shirt. We are about to get that underway and I would like to give you one for being here all this time
recently saw Stephen Pearcy open for Night Ranger in Vegas, and he and his band played Out of the Cellar cover to cover...was shocked how many lyrics I still knew from songs buried in deep cut land like I'm Insane or Scene of the Crime. This one? It is an earworm and now, dammit, I am going to be singing it for at least a week. Every time I hear it...
So many of these 80s videos were so terrible. I always just preferred the playing on the stage videos. You know these guys felt like, "Damnit. We're really going to do this for this video"!!! But 80s Rock/Metal will always be THE BEST !!!!
As a guitarist, I still contend that the riff for Shame, Shame, Shame is the best riff Warren ever came up with. Sacrilege, I know, but I stand by the claim.
I looked back as far as I could on you tube. Have you heard home free sing man of constant sorrow. No instruments but the one guy does an awesome harmonica and drum set. It is kick ass
I probably will get slammed on this but, Ratt is one of my favorite bands, in the studio. Live, they sucked. Sound engineers they use and use to use, all suck. But, love all of their albums and songs. I listen to them at least once a week. You're in love, Way Cool Jr., Dead Reckoning, Luv Sick and lots and lots more. Warren is on my Mt. Rushmore also Birch. Love his style and his chops. He is Way Cool Jr..
I see RATT three times middle 80’s early 90’s twice supporting OZZY on the Ultimate Sin Tour @ Newcastle City Hall and Newcastle Mayfair and then again @ the Mayfair Headlining they were Class every time R.I.P Robin Crosby(The King)
I still have my "Out of the Cellar" and "Invasion of Your Privacy" cassette tapes. Take a listen to the best new rock. The Warning. They did two songs at the 2023 MTV music awards: More: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cZWSDsDsbZU.html Evolve: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-97Pxe9KTgJc.html
Alexis's first Ratt is Wanted Man?!?!? Hit her with One Step Away and the mighty Givin' Yourself Away! She can listen to Nobody Rides For Free to see if it rings any bells. I'm not quite sure if you should play her the more sexy songs they did?!?!
love your channel, fam. always watching, especially the reactions to hard rock songs. do an aerosmith concert from the 70's, before their pop era. salute from Brazil!
@flickeringboxofficial oh muh gawd YEESSSS I DID!!!! Thank you 😊 famous an notorious Notorious RattGirlRain!!! But I'm jealous, I have ALWAYS wanted to meet Stephen n you you....grrr~rolls. LOL but yes thank you soooo much!!!! Now do Savatage Sirens or Hall of the Mountain King....and Ghost Little Sunshine 🌞 lol, like I can tell you what to do 🤣🤣🤣 but you should...sometime. an an of course Ratt Slip of the Lip...Miss Galore...was that it lol thank you, y'all are great!!!
Ratt dressed the part, but they had actual TALENT, so I never lumped them in with the other hair metal bands in the 80's. They were a solid well rehearsed rock band. They actually played well-written songs. Out Of The Cellar is a very good competent album.
Bands I can't get enough of... besides Ratt Rush Scorpions Crüe Maiden Judas Priest Queensrÿche Saxon Cinderella Tesla Dio Triumph Sammy era Van Halen So reactions to any of those would definitely make ME happy...and would probably make a lot of other people happy, as well. 😉🤘🤘
GREAT PIC For the DAY... I gotta see RATT in Salina KS. 1985. Very First GIG on U.S.A. tour after Japan and Europe... On INVASION of PRIVACY TOUR. ... TOP MEMORY of Life. TAKE ME BACK....
Hey gus, excellent choice this video now brings me good memories; but back in my high school years in Sonora,Mexico it was one of the cooles videos! Thank you for bringing me back to those days!
I saw them in Downtown Clearwater about 10 years ago, right before STEPHEN PEARCY came back, had some young kid singing, only original member was the drummer
