Venice Queen is not the place in this case but it is dedicated to a great friend of theirs who passed away Gloria who was instrumental in Anthony Kiedis' rehab.

The song is an ode to Gloria Scott, a woman who played a large part in Anthony Kiedis' "the lead singers" drug recovery. Over time, the pair were able to become close friends, Unfortunately, Gloria was diagnosed with cancer and died shortly after.. Kiedis gifted her a home to help aid in her recovery, in California’s Venice Beach, making her his “Venice Queen.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers is a fun band to check out... they are mix of 70's funk, punk rock fused w/ old school hip hop/R&B and hard rock... One of their biggest hits was the song 'Under the bridge'... Other popular songs by RHCP include - 'Californication' ... 'Scar tissue' ... 'Snow (Hey oh)'... 'Dark necessities'... 'Give it away'... "Can't stop"... 🔥🔥 Despite their fun sound, Red Hot Chili Peppers had a dark, turbulent history... Formed in Los Angeles in the early 80's by friends from their school days - Anthony Kiedis (vocals) and Michael "Flea" Balzary (bass) ... w/ Hillel Slovak (guitar) and Jack Irons (drums)... They quickly became infamous in L.A. after they performed their encore in the nude w/ only a sock covering their d+++s 😂 However, RHCP were signed in 1984 after Slovak and Irons left the band... (the late) Jack Sherman (guitar) and Cliff Martinez (drums) were added to record their debut self-titled album... It was a commercial failure; Jack Sherman was fired and Hillel Slovak (guitar) returned for their 2nd album 'Freaky styley' in 1985... Jack Irons (drums) also returned, replacing Cliff Martinez for their 3rd album 'The uplift mofo party plan' in 1987... They had some standout songs - 'Fight like a brave' ... 'Behind the Sun' ... 'Jungle man'... 🔥🔥 However, the members of RHCP were abusing drugs and Anthony Kiedis was using he+++n... They discovered that guitarist Hillel Slovak was also abusing he+++n. Tragically, it was Hillel Slovak who was found dead in 1988 from an OD... Drummer Jack Irons left the band after his passing. Hoping for a fresh start, RHCP hired Chad Smith (drums) and a young John Frusciante (guitar) and released their 4th album "Mother's milk" in 1989 w/ another infamous cover of a topless model... It became RHCP's first gold-selling record w/ hits like 'Higher ground' (Stevie Wonder cover)... 'Knock me down'... 'Taste the pain'... Working w/ famed producer Rick Rubin on their 1991 album 'Bloodsugarsexmagik'... RHCP would be shot into superstardom as the album became their biggest hit selling 7x platinum in the US alone... major singles like - 'Give it away'... 'Under the bridge'... 'Suck my kiss' ... 'Breaking the girl'... However, guitarist John Frusciante was struggling in the band and quit in 1992. RHCP had to tour w/ a session guitarist. RHCP hired Dave Navarro (guitar) from the band Jane's Addiction for their 1995 album 'One hot minute'... it became a platinum hit but Navarro was not fitting well musically in the band... He was fired in 1997 because of his drug problems. In 1998, guitarist John Frusciante sought help for his he+++n addiction after he quit the band... After getting clean, he was asked to rejoin the Red Hot Chili Peppers... In 1999, they released a major comeback album 'Californication'... w/ the singles 'Scar tissue'... 'Otherside' ... 'Around the world' ... 'Californication'... It sold 7x platinum in the US. RHCP performed at the Woodstock '99 festival in NY which sadly ended up in flames as the band played onstage. They returned in 2002 w/ the album 'By the way'... another platinum success w/ the singles - 'By the way' ... "The Zephyr song' ... "Can't stop"... but it was a mellow record compared to the high energy RHCP albums of the past. In 2006, RHCP released a double album 'Stadium arcadium'... w/ the hits 'Dani California'... 'Snow (Hey oh)'... However, guitarist John Frusciante quit the band once again in 2008 and Josh Klinghoffer (guitar) did the tour and joined the band. RHCP continued to record successful albums - "I'm with you" (2011) and "The Getaway" (2016)... but guitarist Josh Klinghoffer seemed to be the odd man out and was fired by 2020... John Frusciante (guitar) agreed to return to RHCP again and their latest album 'Unlimited love' was released in 2022 w/ Rick Rubin returning as producer, charting at #1 in the US and UK... w/ the singles - 'Black summer' ... 'These are the ways'.
