Yes! I am in my sixties and I know that I was also 😇 blessed as well. What brings me joy is watching the reaction videos of these great songs and seeing the young people respond to them! The joy is infectious! We have to keep the old school music alive! What else is out there to listen to?
Had me crying over here. Not abandoned; died. Gone nonetheless. 😭 While you're on Rose Royce, listen to "Wishing on a Star", "Angel in the Sky", "I Wanna Get Next to You" and "Do Your Dance". 💛
I knew once you heard this and "Car Wash", you'd be hooked! if you listen to "Do Your Dance" make sure you play the LONG version or you won't really be to appreciate the genius behind the song!
Rose Royce is absolutely fantastic. Madonna did a beautiful cover and with a lot of respect for the original song. The clip is one-shot and interesting.
@Lovejazz01: British actor, Jimmy Nail also covered it in 1986. Seal also did a cover of it and their hit, Wishing Upon a Star for a covers album and its closer to this original one. I was 3 when this song came out.
I'm so HAPPY and BLESSED that I grew up when I did. The music back then had so much meaning and they could sing. We could go out at night and not worry about drive by and all this other mess that's going on now. That was a GREAT time to be a teenager.
Back then we had musical groups and bands. Often musicians started groups and then added a lead singer. When you are able to find videos of old songs being performed you see musicians singing and playing the instruments. They were master musicians and the music itself was fire.
everyone had their own sound back in the day, so you never had to worry about someone copying your sound. glad i was there to hear great music first hand. :)
Satori My G you are on 🔥 tonight! Really enjoying your reactions to this beautiful classic music. And really appreciate your comments about the music from back in day. It truly was an amazing time for music and artists!
Thank you so much for playing this, I asked for it ages ago and knew you'd get to it eventually. Such an awesome film Car Wash with some of the greatest songs ever made by Rose Royce. Takes me back to days when it was the music that counted not the colour of the artists, good days.👍💖
Bless your sweet heart, Satori! You FELT that!!! Yes, I was so blessed to grow up back in the day...music was literally my escape...LOVED your reaction...LOVE you too!❤
Faith Evans' version of this song featuring Mary J. Blige on Faith's first album was great also, unfortunately its hard to find. It may be here on youtube but iTunes doesnt have it 😫 they only have the one with Faith by herself from the album reissue. Faith singing it alone was hot but the one with her and Mary together was FIRE!
❤🔥💯❤ I'm not gone lie... your reaction to this classic hit was exactly what I hoped it would be!! I enjoyed watching your reaction, which made this classic song even better. Thank You for this one! My parents raised me up on this music and there is definitely nothing like it today. Yeah... they were tapped into nothing but pure brilliance when it came to music!!! 💯
Old school rules, they were so creative back then. Great singers, songwriters arrangers and producers...we had them all. What's missing in today's music is creativity and lack of good songwriters and arrangers. By the way I love this channel and am crazy about the songs you review. Keep on keeping on!!
They were known for two soundtrack records 'Which Way Is Up' for the movie starring Richard Pryor and 'Car Wash' for another movie that co-starred Richard Pryor. The 70s were so much fun!!🤗🤗💃💃
Satori My G yesir This Song Says so much and the Hard times of being Abandoned my ppl places and things and when Love don't Live there anymore then that's a problem but Then Love is all that matters ❤️ 💕
You are doing great job, this the root of our music the last two generations traded their souls for fools gold and now your kids are suffering (society ran the back door play on y'all)
I know I'm late but when I was in school we had music class. Budget cuts took it away. I'm sure there would be less samples if kids were aloud to do music for themselves.
LJ Reynolds’s was born in Saginaw Mi. I believe the other members were from the D. Serena Williams and Draymond Green born there as well. Stand up 989!!
