Seventeen are the complete package: They sing, dance, and write all their own stuff. The singers can rap, the rappers can sing. No group is more synchronised than them. And the visuals…….
Seventeen are the "Synchronization Kings" of K-pop, their dance practices/choreography videos are a MUST! Seventeen because that was the average age of the members when they debuted, but now we say: 13 members + 3 sub-groups (vocal, rap, performance) + 1 fan base (Carat like a diamond) = 17
@@targwhal that’s actually not entirely true, the original PLAN was for them to have 17 members but they never had 17 trainees at once. It’s sorta a coincidence that they ended up with 17 trainees in the end but the most they’ve ever had at once was 16. Minghao joined after the other 4 had already left.
SVT actually has a lot of (actual) behind the scenes content! Because they produce their own music and sometimes dance, they usually have a video of the album recording/producing as well as a lot of behind the scenes for dance practices and stuff like that. Earlier Going Seventeen episodes shows behind the scenes of practices and tour preparation and in recent years its called INSIDE SEVENTEEN
And, an *AWESOME* rabbit hole it is! Also, they're called "Seventeen" because at the time of their debut, the average age of the whole group was "seventeen" - hence the name (even tho' they have 13 members)... Side note: Every time I see you react to a K-pop song, I think in my head: *LUKE-IEEEEEEEE* !! (Or, *LUKE-EEEEEEEY* !! (I haven't decided which way I should spell it. LOL! Any preference?) I hope you're not offended. It's just a term of endearment, since you seem like the younger brother I always wanted... 🙂 (Much, MUCH younger! lol)
FINALLY... knew you would love them, their amazing. Next *SEVENTEEN* songs: - "Hit" - "Left And Right" - "Rock With You" Next *GROUPS* to check out: - *TNX* "Move" (New group/song) - *TREASURE* "JikJin" - *ONEWE* "Montage" (rock)
Omg !!! You mentioned my boys, Onewe !!! 😭 Thank you... they are so under-rated. I love them. ❤️ Please add to the list : End of Spring by Onewe which is a fun super hype video and song... and also Aurora by Onewe which has vocals like crazy. Luke...Onewe is a korean rock band. They play instruments and write all their own music and lyrics. I've been following them since before their debut years ago ! They will make you take your hat off for sure !
@@tanasmom1969Yeah discovered them cause of their song "VERONICA" 😁 so I watch more. Love that they are an actual BAND not a group. Also discovered *ROLLING QUARTZ* which is a Korean girl band who play their own instruments
@@Veronica.1371 YES !!!! I LOVE Rolling Quartz !!!! 😃 Their cover of Helena by My Chemical Romance was AMAZING !!! Also their Maneskin cover... and of coarse their originals. ❤
There is a reason why Seventeen is known as a Performance Powerhouse, it’s their ability to tell a story in a holistic way. From the composition of the song itself, to the choreography moves, everything is done or has at least been touched and worked on by the members of the group. Many of them hold composing, writing and even choreographing credits. Woozi for example, the guy with yellow highlighter hair in this MV, is their main producer and composes and produces almost all of their songs. While Vernon, the guy singing at the start, writes many of the lyrics, and Hoshi, the one dancing freestyle on the side of the road, is amazing at incorporating daily movements into choreography for the group. They will also be having a highly anticipated comeback with a full album this May 27, so hope you could check that out. The title song is called Hot, and the snippet we got from the highlight medley is fire! Also, if you’re interested in dabbling in some music production, Seventeen released an audio kit on Twitter, which consist of short stems from their unreleased title song (which includes vocals, synths, pianos etc) that Carats can download and remix on their own. It’s great fun, and a lot of us got to try a hand on producing something for the first time. Some have also tried to figure out how the song will sound like and make full-blown 3 minute masterpieces.
Seventeen actually has a series on their YT channel called Inside Seventeen, where they share and post the behind the scenes of their album making, magazine shoots, preparation for award shows etc. From recording songs to their dance practices. They started posting things like this in 2019, so there isn’t one for this song since it’s released in 2017. But if you search up “inside seventeen dance practice behind”, they have quite a lot from them practicing for a MV shooting, practicing for an award show performance to practicing for fanmeets and concerts etc. Most of the times these dance practice behind are titled according to the songs practiced (ex: “Inside Seventeen Home;Run dance practice behind” for a song called Home;Run) but sometimes they title it after the albums (ex: “Inside Seventeen Attacca dance practice behind” for the song Rock With You which is in their Attacca album). I would recommend checking out a song from them, and then checking out the dance practice behind. Some of my recommendations would be Darl+ing, Rock With You and Fear. Fear in particular is interesting in that they really tried a new concept focusing on a poisonous relationship. So all their moves and expression had to convey that. And you can see how hard they worked to get there in the behind. Here’s the link for Fear’s dance practice behind (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-quhfTjTS_RY.html) if you’re interested. I remember one of the members, I think Hoshi, saying that in total they now take less than 24 hours to memorise the moves, formations and fine tune the details. Becaus in their Darl+ing dance practice behind for Inside Seventeen, they practiced for 3-4 hours for three days. With the first day dedicated to learning the first half of the song, the second day for the second half and the third day for the details. Even if they were to take 4 hours each day, it would in total amount to around 12 hours, which is insanely fast for picking up choreo at their level of complexity and intricacy. Interestingly, they also live-streamed their practice room during trainee days. So around 2012-2014. And you could really see them building their foundations up to get to this level. From practicing the basic moves to making their own choreo. It’s really heartwarming and almost nostalgic to see their younger selves from almost ten years ago working so hard, and comparing it to them now in the practice room still working as hard. Like you get a sense that through the times, the members have grown and but their tenacity and determination have persevered and stayed the same.
Omg this song was the song that got me into seventeen and made me a fan and it was also this song that I found out I had 5 biases from the group (s.coups, hoshi, Vernon, Joshua and woozi)
This group is sooo amazing... Sure you'll love the songs Fear or Clap or Home Run... Three of the best songs of Seventeen (and there's a lot of really really good songs!!!)
@@GOTGames Seventeen debuted in 2015. As an other famous K-pop group who also débutés in 2015 you absolutely need to discover : Ikon Please try to watch and react on one of these songs "Killing me", "Rythm Ta" or "Love Scenario" I'm sure i'll love them !! Thank you !!
Omg... this group has a huge catalog of AMAZING videos and songs. I love "Clap" and "Rock with You". Seungkwan will forever be my bias. Boo makes me laugh like no one else. He had me at the Tsunami video. 🤣
I haven't even watched the video yet, but I'm SO EXCITED that you're finally reacting to this! This song holds such a special place in my heart. When I was ready to give up on kpop, this song came out and gripped me so tightly! P.S. the dance practice for this is incredible!
Omigod yess svt! Please checkout more of them. They are seriously such an incredible group in so many different ways. They are self producing and choreographing. And are humble and entertaining no doubt. I hope you dive deeper :) edit: yh I’ve been stanning them for a year now and don’t have a bias cuz it constantly changes and each and every one of them 13 owns my heart
Love Seventeen. Their vocals, their dancing.. You should check out performance unit leader and main dancer Hoshi’s solo track, “Spider” (the Studio Choom one!). It’s one of my favorite kpop performances ever. Hoshi’s dancing is incredible. Other amazing Seventeen songs: Fear, Anyone, Rock With You, Hit.
Seventeen is an amazing group because: - they are 13 members so talented and beautiful, with diferents personalities - they are divided in 3 groups: vocal (woozi, jeonghan, DK, seungwan and joshua); hiphop (scoups, wonwoo, mingyu and vernon) and performance (dino, the8, jun and hoshi) - they are a self produce group because it is woozi who produces all seventeen song, the performance team create the coreographies and hiphop team write their own verses, and other members also help to write the lyrics - they have a variety show called Going Seventeen and it has a new episode every wednesday - they won the category "Best Dance Performance - Male Group " in mama 2017 with Dont wanna cry (yess this coreo is soooooo amazing) - all their coreographies are very unique and dificult - they have beautiful vocals, every member of the group (including performance and hiphop team!!) - they are veeeeeryyyyy funny hahaha - ALL THEIR SONGS ARE SOOOOO FUCKING GOOG!!!!!
their was originally 17 members but two members quit and then two members were killed during a concert. they were giveung a concert when a tsunami hit where they were performing.
Ahhh!! The day finally came!! I'm SO excited you checked them out!! They're just SO SO good!! Can't wait to see more! You're going to LOVE their song, "Fear", I just know it!! 💎
Such a good introduction to seventeen this is my all time favorite song by them!! You should really check out their dance practice videos!! Their choreo is crazy!! I would also love to see your reaction to 'cheese' by stray kids OR Thunderous Christmas version (its a live performance)
seventeen have a series called inside seventeen that does show the behind the scenes of mvs, performances, concerts, photoshoots etc. so there's that. also it probably takes them maybe a week at most to fully learn choreo. also, there's only 13 members and it's always been that way.
Thank you so much for reacting to Seventeen! Since you love paying attention to the details and behind the scene, I can guarantee that you'll definitely love Seventeen. They're branded as the "SELF-PRODUCING IDOLS" because they produce, write, choreograph, and many more behind production activities. They're are also branded as "THE THEATER KIDS OF KPOP" because of their story telling/theatrical choreographies and "MOST SYNCHRONIZED KPOP GROUP" because of their impeccable synchronization. SEVENTEEN will release their 4th full album on May 27, this Friday. I hope you can check that out too. Welcome to the CARATLAND! Enjoy your Diamond Journey!
I’m so glad you’re reacting to SEVENTEEN and that you’re enthusiastic about them! I’d love to recommend their songs: - FEAR - CLAP - Getting Closer - HIT
Glad you're on the edge of Seventeen fandom. This is probably one of their best visually but it's even better when you watch the dance practice. You should maybe include a lyric video reaction with it first because, as with most of Seventeen's choreo's, they're very much structured around the lyrics. There's also a live version at the "See Us Unite For Change" concert that has the choreography and the lyrics. I believe there are no lyrics because it's a Japanese b-side but I could be wrong. Usually, Japanese labels don't usually include subs right away or ever in some cases so that's why people create the lyric videos. Despite the fact that they have 13 members they are the kings of Synchronization, they must spend hours and weeks to get that in sync. Woozi, the shortest of them composes most of their music and Hoshi who's another member helps a lot with choreography so they're a very self-produced group despite being on a fairly large label.
Another great group! Choreography was so good! The talent is endless with all the groups you’ve checked out. I’m really enjoying the musical journey your on. See you in the next one! #Wafflegang ❤️
Seventeen is known as one of Kpop's only self-produced idol groups. Which means that the members are the ones that create everything themselves, with help and advice from Pledis Entertainment's choreographers, songwriters and rap producers when needed. But everything is pretty much created by the members and the professionals are only consulted or asked to assist to bounce ideas off of and to finetune things, etc. So, "Don't Wanna Cry" was wrote by Woozi, who is the leader of the vocal unit, with help from the rest of the vocal unit -- Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, and Seungkwan. Hoshi, who is the leader of the performance unit (dancers), creates the group's choreography along with input from the other members of the performance unit -- The8, Jun and Dino. And S.Coups, who is the leader of Seventeen and the leader of the hip-hop unit, writes the rap sections with help from the other members of the hip-hop unit -- Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon. Seventeen's name comes from the fact that they have 13 members + 3 sub-units (Vocal unit, performance unit and hip-hop unit) + they come together as 1 group =17. Their fandom name is Carats -- like Seventeen carat diamonds. 💍And their symbol is a diamond. When it comes to Seventeen, you also need to check out their dance practice videos because they are known for having some of the most impressive and synchronized choreographies in Kpop. I can't wait for you to see Seventeen's dance practice video for "Don't Wanna Cry." If you think they were impressive in the MV, just wait until you see the full choreography. You will be blown away by how in sync they are. Plus, if you really want to be impressed, you should check out their 2X speed dance version they performed on Weekly Idol. To find 13 young men, who really didn't know each other before becoming a group, that are so multi-talented is impressive. And the fact that they are constantly able to come up with hit after hit and maintain one of the top spots in the industry all on their own, makes them even more unbelievable.
yes yes YES please more seventeen!!! they are entirely self-produced (music, assisting in choreography, make their own merch and magazines and music videos), artist of the year award winners, world's best performer award winners! their group has the youngest person ever to win asia artist awards' best producer award! their choreography videos are essential, you will love them!! ❤️ they are SEVENTEEN because 13 (members) + 3 (units - hiphop, vocal, performance) + 1 (team) = 17 !
I am a baby carat, but i have listen their song a lot. I cant blieve tht they are the selfproduce with their song, choreo, and the content thy have. Great reaction bytheway.. 😆 And my bias is dk, I recomended you check their music: home, clap, left and right, fallin flower (japanese song) and their vocal live (dont listen in scret, habit, etc) will blow your mind (me too)..
Seventeen has a new album coming out on May 27 I believe. They have already released a video for "Dar+ling" from that album (English version). As for choreo videos, you might like to check out the RU-vid channel called 'Studio Choom" which makes regular videos with big name kpop acts - sometimes the whole group, sometimes solo dance performances/cover dances.. They also often release behind the scenes video interviews explaining the choreo creation process. Recently they did a "Mix & Match" special with Jungwon and Ni-ki from Enhypen which was a dance duo performance made for the show dancing to Bleeding Darkness (not their song). They did a choreo behind the scenes for that one in particular. Lots of groups and names you will recognize have been invited to perform on their channel - Itzy, Stray Kids, TXT, Enhypen *the whole group), and many others. Here is the link for the choreo record for the Mix & Match dance ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BHuaLM6irbQ.html and just the dance itself ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oiBLJPvGNc8.html
Yess, for next I recommend Rock With You, Left and Right and... May 27 they release our new comeback album with the title HOT, so you mabe check out this too
"How does anyone even begin to pick a bias with a group this big?" Well, there's a saying in the fandom : "Seventeen = pick a bias, get twelve for free" XD.
Seventeen did actually originally have seventeen members but some quit because of reasons and now have thirteen members as seen in the video. Their songs are really good. Left and Right, Clap, Thanks those are some good songs
Seventeen is called that because it 13 members, 3 units and 1 leader, but they were originally going to debut as 17 members but 4 dropped out before the debut
iv heard parts of this song from watching loads of kpop random play dances on YT but never heard the full thing till now, i never knew it was seventeen that sang this, guess this is another band i gota properly listen to lol
FINALLY!!!! SEVENTEEN!!I WAS WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT!! THEY ARE THE DANCE KINGS (in my opinion) Seventeen prepare all their songs by themselves, they are awesome and super fun!! i would love to recommend you: Clap, Thanks, Nice and all their songs you need to see their practice videos to enjoy 1000% their dance and they sync
You know there is a clip of them doing this dance at x2 speed on the show weekly idol. They are flawless. It’s insane. Oh and in answer to your question “how do you choose a bias in a group this big?” Well, it’s easy start with one bias, then just add more until you have 13 bias’. Simple.
It's funny because I literally just finished your reaction to their song Hot before watching this one. I haven't watched this mv in a while but I remember being so madly impressed and in love with their choreo. 13 members but they're all perfectly in sync. HOW???? And yeah, Seventeen's vocals are on point every time. This is one (one of many) of my favorite songs of theirs.
The shorter blond who dances solo near the beginning is Woozi who composes, produces, & arranges all of the groups songs. The member who sang directly before him is Hoshi & he choreographs everything (his notebooks look like he's plotting out an American Football team game plan)
They are called seventeen because they ware originally going to be 17 members but 4 of them left the group before they debuted. But now “seventeen” have a different meaning. 13 members 3 subunits (vocal, hip hop and performance) 1 team The different units also make music together and the members in each units are: Vocal: woozi (leader of vocal unit), jeonghan, josuha, dk, seungkwan Hip hop: s.coups(leader of hip hop unit and seventeen), wonwoo, mingyu, vernon Performance: hoshi (leader of performance unit), jun, the8 and dino Songs I recommend: Rock with you, clap, ruby (woozi solo), spider (hoshi solo), light a flame (96 liners) and mansae They are my absolute favorite group and my biases are jun, hoshi, dino and mingyu I really hope that you will continue to enjoy seventeen! (Also they are having a comeback may 27th make sure to check that out too! The album is called “face the sun”)
You should check out their 2x speed dance to this song... it will blow ur mind... Even when they dance at double speed they are still so perfectly in sync....
This song is awesome, you have to react to this dance of this song but 3 times faster they did that on a show is amazing to see how quick they can dance bizarre
I’m happy you’re finally being introduced to Seventeen! The song that I first got drawn in with was Home Run. They have so many amazing songs to check out and they are so talented! I was honestly thinking you might like KARD while I was watching this and then you brought them up at the end. Haha! It must be a sign!
There are a few legendary K-pop songs every K-pop fan should know. These songs are bigger than life, have their own fandoms, and will stand the test of time... this is one of them! 🥰
lucky for you Seventeen has a ton of behind the scene video with tag and title 'inside seventeen'! hopefully you could check it in the future!! have a nice day!
Thank you for reacting to Seventeen they are an amazing group and deserve all the love, they will have their 7 Anniversary on May 26. and their new Album Face the Sun will come out on the 27 with the Titel HOT I hope you can check that out as well, today they released the Highlight Medley for the Album if you are interested. I'm a baby Karat and I don't really have a bias still, I go back and forth with many of the members. They all have different personalities and unique voices. I love their music and videos, you'll definitely enjoy their stuff! 😊
Yessssss Finally! For more seventeen I recommend Very Nice mv or dance practice /clap mv/pretty U/boom boom. Well pretty much any of their dance practice videos you can’t go wrong.
Thank you for reacting to SEVENTEEN! They'll be having a full-album comeback this May 27 with the title track 'HOT.' Would love to see you react to it as well (and maybe even the album also)!
their discography is the best! i'm telling you. you should check them out more :) their new album is coming out on may 27 and the title track is called HOT. But they pre-released an English single Darl+ing part of their new album.
I have for a LONG time thought about looking in to K-pop, you are the reason I finally did it - LOVE your reactions! ❤ But on your comment about just listening to this I thought: "You can't just LISTEN to this type of music... it's an "all in one" experience. You have to watch the video to, in order to get the full impact." - Maybe I'm wrong, since this genre is all new to me, but my feeling is, that that's one of the" signatures" about K-pop - that it's so much MORE than just music. (Sorry for any spelling, grammar or wording mistakes, english isn't my first language. 😅)
