Actually, all the members are solo artists! Taemin was the first member to make his solo debut in 2014. Minho is the only one who doens't have a solo album yet, but he did release a solo song called 'I'm Home' before he went to the military.

With their "Don't Call Me" comeback, SHINee (pronounced Shiny -- as in shiny diamonds or shiny stars -- their name has a double ee to show just how brilliant they shine) are just doing what we have all come to expect from them -- showing us something that has never been seen or heard before and starting a new trend. Nothing you hear from them will ever be like anything you have ever seen or heard before. They raise the bar even higher with every comeback. And that's what makes them SHINee. :D With every new song release, SHINee are expected to come out with a style and sound that is brand new, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. And "Don't Call Me" is a perfect example of that. What you just experienced is exactly what makes SHINee legends. And this is the reason why they are so highly respected, and why almost everyone in the industry who came after them cites them as one of their biggest influences and one of the reasons why they wanted to become a singer and dancer, etc. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. Minho -- the one with the red hair -- is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is a top actor and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. He is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out, but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc., as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win. And, as you have discovered, Taemin -- the one with the white bandanna -- is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry, and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, including his peers. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. He is also one of the most popular solo artists in the industry and he is a member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances. Although Jonghyun wasn't in the MV -- because he passed away 3 years ago -- in order to get to know SHINee, you have to get to know him as well. He is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed almost 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists, such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography for more than 3 hours straight. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach.
To get some visuals to go with CODE, you can watch a live stage that they did for it. Reaction to it would probably get blocked but do check it out in your own time. They prepared that stage in 2-3 days cause they really liked the song and it looked so effortless. The one with the black and aqua outfits is the best one.

This is actually a pretty good album to introduce you to Shinee. Besides being a great album musically, this will let you see just how diverse and experimental Shinee’s music is. This album alone gives you classic creative Shinee (Atlantis), something really experimental (code), hiphop (don’t call me), 90s vibes, Jackson 5, reggae, ballads, etc. And you’ll notice more genres that they make their own with every other MV/comeback. Also on a side note, they’re probably the best live band you’ll see so definitely check out their live performances. A good one to start with is Excuse Me Miss which is the video where that name chant you were watching came from and Marry You which is later on in this album

also fun fact about minho!! as you may already know, taehyung starred in the drama Hwarang and that same drama had minho in it as well! all the actors involved all became very close due to this :D bts and shinee have a really cute relationship anyway it warms my heart
I think that's the first SM group you're checking out, right? You'll notice that they are a very vocal-driven company, as far as I know, they focus a lot on the idol's vocal training and their songs usually have parts to highlight the power of their amazing singers (a lot of high notes, especially in the bridges haha).

Shinee, Big Bang, and Infinite are what got me into KPOP. Shinee was the first group that I really made a connection with and felt like a true fan. I can't listen to anything in The Story of Light without feeling some sorrow but their amazing return this year was very healing. I hope that you get to hear a lot of their work. Wow I saw SHINee and subscribed straight away. Loved your reaction! You can’t go wrong with SHINee or any of their solos- their last album has literally no skips. Make sure to check out their live concerts when you get to some of the older stuff as they are known for their amazing vocals and stage presence live. You might also want to check out their live performances on IU’s pallet RU-vid show to see their amazing vocals. Taemin and Jonghyun have loads of solo albums but they all have amazing solo albums.
I prefer Area and Kind in this come back. SHINee‘s music is very high quality production. Especially the 5th album “1 of 1” in 2016. The title song is new Jack swing style called 1 of 1，it is very special and other group never tried that type of music in Korean at that time. I prefer Prism and U need me，the two songs‘ arrangements are very fresh and prism is composed by Jonghyun.
I came here so fast!!!! Shinee is my second fav group...along with Stray Kidz but I love Onew's tone, Minho's eye candy, Key's attitude, and fashion sense, and Taemin's dancing. 😍😍. Replay, their debut song is the BEST debut song. Classic late 90s. I still play that one on the regular. They are vocal killers!! Don't call me...I wish I had that song when I was dating...😂😂
The start was really amazing and the presentation of the member is at the final of "Excuseme miss" performance. They really are amazing and all of them have their own album except for minho that have a single song. They have performed too: code, heart attack, kind on music show and marry you as mv if you wanna check. One of my favourite SHINee albums is "The story of Light", and I think it has some of their most meaningful lyrics. It was their last comeback as a group before 3 of the members enlisted. I hope you get to listen to this album as well in the future✨

I've watched all their performances from their Tokyo Dome concerts and honestly they're SO good on stage, you're right; they do have really good stage presence. SHINee have performed CODE live. You really should have seen their live performance, because SHINee are known for the fact that their live performances are 300 time better than their studio recordings. (And that's saying a lot because SHINee's albums are pretty outstanding.) SHINee are known for the fact that their live performances are on a whole other level. Take some time on your own time to watch their live performance of CODE, I think you will fall in love with it even more once you see and hear SHINee live. And if all you want to do is listen to the song, you should at least watch a lyric video so that you could see who was singing each line of the song, so that way you didn't have to ask who's voice that was, because you would have been able to see for yourself. Kpop fans create lyric videos for pretty much every Kpop song that has ever been in existence and they translate the lyrics into almost any language, so if you want to know more about the lyrics, these are great videos to watch. English translation lyric videos also will usually highlight each line of the song with a corresponding color and the members photo so you can get to know each of their voices and be able to see who is singing each part of the song.

when you react to SHINee’s early period songs, please react to concert live version as well! i’ve noticed a lot of ppl couldn’t take old mvs and because of that, they missed how great the song is. Songs like Replay, Ring Ding Dong, Lucifer, Sherlock, Everybody give you different impression if you watch concert live version! SHINee is known for their superb live performance.

Thank you for reaction to the iconic, legendary group, SHINee! Kpop musical production, attention to detail, vocals, and innovative lyrics combined with stellar dancing is something that has been dead in Western music for a while now and is the reason why Kpop is so very popular, and SHINee are masters of all of those aspects of Kpop. They are a 2nd. generation group that has been around since their unforgettable debut in 2008. At that time, their members were between the ages of 14 (Taemin) to 18. Known for being very experimental, having heavenly harmonies, vocal kings, and killer live performances, these guys are all-around artists who have lasted the test of time. They are legendary in the Kpop world and greatly admired and respected by the entire Kpop industry. Each member is also a soloist with a lot of diverse music. They flow effortlessly through and between all genres and have even created genres of their own with their eclectic mixing of several genres into one song. If you watch the "Atlantis" MV again, during Minho's rap section, you will see the members in a line with their arms around each other. On the end, Taemin (silverish-colored hair, orange jacket) has his arm extended and curved. This is Jonghyun's place. Members according to their order in "Atlantis" MV: Taemin - 1st vocalist, orange jacket; rapper, vocalist, dancer, songwriter, pianist, choreographer, actor. Youngest member (maknae); debuted at 14, currently 28 & in the military until November, 2022. When he first debuted at 14, he couldn't sing due to immature vocal cords. When his vocal cords matured, he still couldn't sing. His nickname was "Tone Deaf" and was told he didn't have a voice for singing. Of course, management at that time didn't understand Taemin's stubborn tenacity. With the tutelage of fellow members (best vocalists in Kpop) Onew & Jonghyun, Taemin surpassed their non-existent expectations. In fact he so destroyed their expectations that in 2014, at just 21, he became SM's first-ever male soloist from an active boy group. From that moment on he was dubbed SM's "ACE" and that became his new nickname for the company. He has debuted four times in three different generations of Kpop. Another fun fact is that Taemin, known within the industry as the best Kpop dancer, was totally self-taught. He got interested in dancing after seeing Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal". Then he started watching MVs and copying the dancing in front of his mirror. His popping/locking abilities, coupled with his insane subtle moves and liquidity are what got him instantly snatched up at an open audition with SM during the first round. He was 11/12 at the time. As the maknae of the group, Taemin has been raised with SHINee. He's a interesting mix of all of them and has absorbed their collective talents like a sponge! He is a chameleon and changes his style, voice, attitude according to which group he's with or acting as a soloist. Taemin is a MONSTER on stage, and his charisma is mesmerizing. Piercing eyes and stare. He is extremely intelligent, deep, and thoughtful. However, he is also a very humble guy who is a known workaholic, dedicated, and will dance 17-hours straight, when necessary, until he meets his standard of perfection, described as being like tofu with a core of iron. Also takes no bs and can be quite savage when necessary. Gets what he wants whether from his SHINee hyungs (brothers) or SM. Spoiled rotten by his SHINee hyungs but also very loving towards them. He has a more prolific solo career than the rest. He is the SASSIEST of the group. No BS with him; tells it like it is and is quite the comedian. He and Minho are total opposites, but love each other even when they bicker endlessly...lol. Key is the fashionista of the group and the actual fashion designer for their stages. Key can also memorize choreos just by watching them once. Key is Taemin's surrogate 2nd Mom after Jonghyun's death and tries to keep Taemin under control....alas, Taemin is just as savage and uncontrollable...lol. Onew - (pronounced Oh-new) 3rd vocalist in MV; yellow-orange shirt, brown sweater. Vocalist, rapper, dancer, songwriter. Leader of the group and eldest; debuted at 18; now 31 (intl. age). Honey vocals, very rich and warm (you liked his voice). Hits the high notes and has a record in Korea for holding the longest, sustained note at 40+ seconds (you can see this on YT). Songwriter; Actor; Soloist. On a whim, he wanted to try Opera and performed "Nessun Dorma" at one of their concerts --- KILLED IT! He can also tap dance, spin anything on his fingers - including a chair - and has a killer ttakbam. As a leader, Onew is very kind, gentle, & nurturing. Can be quite quiet at times, but is also quite the comedian when he gets going. He is the glue that holds the group together with his quiet support and encouragement. Indulgent father-figure to baby Taemin. Solo MV to check out: "Blue". Coming out with an album this fall. Minho - 4th vocalist-rapper, white hair; tiger shirt. Vocalist, rapper, dancer. Visual of the group; debuted at 16; now 29 (intl age). Deep, velvety voice, but can also sing higher as well. He has a slight lisp. Minho writes his own rap segments; songwriter; prolific actor; One solo song. Minho is called "Flaming Charisma" because he is EXTREMELY competitive and good in just about all sports: soccer, basketball, relay racing, high-dive; high-jump, etc. He does not like to lose. Minho is a excellent actor and has been in the most dramas of all of them. He is also the biggest SHINee fan of all. Attends other SHINee members solo events. Key's bickering buddy and Taemin's big brother, very loving and supportive. Would give Taemin the moon if possible. Solo MV to check out: "Home". Jonghyun, our angel - vocalist, rapper, dancer; AKA Bling, Bling. Debuted at 18. VERY powerful, rich, most versatile voice, slightly nasal. This man was probably the best vocalist Kpop had ever heard, just phenomenal. High notes were no problem for him. He could also rap quite well and I think the 3rd best of the group (as they all can rap). Prolific songwriter (wrote many of SHINee's songs, and songs for other artists and was the first idol to write all the songs for his own albums. Could play several instruments (including being quite talented with the Kazoo); musical genius; Book author. Jonghyun wore his heart on his sleeve and thought very deeply about things. He was most often the one who cried the easiest, especially during moving performances. He also cared deeply about people and social issues. Jonghyun and Taemin knew each other before meeting the other SHINee members, as they were trainees together before being assigned to the group. As such, elder JH took Taemin under his wing and became, as JH put it, "Taemin's 2nd. mother". He was very protective of Taemin. JH also designated himself as Taemin's fan club president, attended Taemin's concerts, even delaying his own concert by 2 days just so he could attend Taemin's 1st solo concert with Onew. He was so proud of Taemin's singing growth and hardwork. Sadly, we lost Jonghyun to his life-long battle with chronic depression in 2017. This was devastating to SHINee, but their bond helped them to pull it together and continue on to keep Jonghyun's dream of SHINee forever alive. As they say, SHINee will always be 5 = 5HINee. Now, JH is their guardian angel and with them in spirit. In some MVs, like "Atlantis", you can see they still leave spots open for him in their choreo. @@Saddlemomma some reactors I know had some hard time last year with SM, so some people still careful about it even tho it seems like it has been better again, idk it was a mess haha... I remember some different youtubers talking about that at the time, but the one I can think of rn is PD from Form Of Terapy that have been posting their SM reactions without audio for a while

Heh this is interesting, bc I don't listen to kpop, but I listen to BTS like non stop, but they are like another word.... But I listen to Shinee and Big bang, this are only another korean groups that interested me in any way, Big bang introdused me to kpop sooo soft spot and TOP rap voise mmm, and Shinee is like OG, I really respect them. But only Shinee is puting song still sooo, new album is fun. For you to choose them on your next group to check up, I'm actually happy, thier older stuff is also very climatic. And Jonghyun solo work is great, and I love his voice and miss him, his charisma, ah it is so sad so I stop. Teamin solo work is like another level and very sexy. He go to military now so ah.
