LOL guest vocalist....I don't think Vessell will have a guest vocalist outside of his guitarist doing screams at the live shows, or his live background trio!
LOL yeah probably need to listen to more of them I just hadn't heard that scream yet! I loved it! reminded me of some older metal bands I grew up listening to! Does he scream in more of his songs?
@@JohnReavesLive appreciate it, man! As soon as I hit play on this one I knew they were giving it the Gods treatment, once you listen you’ll understand haha
It is actually Vessel (the singer of Sleep Token, yes, exactly the same guy who sings in Chokehold and Bloodsport) who does the screaming in this song as well as all the others too. You can actually hear his distinctive tone in his screams as well, and you can also see it in live concerts (or as they're called in the case of Sleep Token: Rituals) that Vessel does indeed do the screams himself and it's not someone else. He is absolutely incredible in his range and talent!
There's a bunch of reaction channels on this song atm, but you can tell which ones are actual vocalists when Vessel hits that high at 1:38 and their faces change, they can't help it, it's impressive! I think he took some lessons from Architects who they toured with but I'm also detecting some hisses in there. Given they are from London it wouldn't surprise me if they got someone like Dani Filth in to do some vocal couching as that's very much his style. If Ed Sheeran can work with Dani, Vessel sure can lol.
Okay so, there is a RUMOR that the guitarist, IV, officially joined the band with Vessel and II (the drummer). If IV joined the band and is now part of the studio versions, the screaming is possibly IV (bc IV does some screaming in live performances) HOWEVER, unless it's confirmed that IV is on the studio album and did some vocals, yes. The same man who serenades us with those gorgeous cleans also does those filthy screams 😩
Wait a second, so you're saying vessel wrote all the guitar riffs and bass lines on the first 2 albums as well as lyrics? And the guitarist they play live with was just someone they toured with that knew all the riffs of the songs? I'm confused. There's no way only Vessel and II wrote everything previous
@@lasseigne13 Yep, Vessel and II have been the only confirmed, permanent members of Sleep Token so far. I was shocked when I googled it and found out, especially since the band seems like such a cohesive unit in live performances I've watched. Perhaps they're now a legit band, we won't know for sure unless it's confirmed so hopefully Sleep Token does another interview (they've only ever done one official interview and it was written, not in person or recorded)
@Iscussion yeah I thought it was III too, but everyone keeps saying it's IV 😂 one of the guitarists screams during live shows and is RUMORED to have joined Vessel and II in the studio
I get the same vibes from the animations, pretty dark medieval vibes with a sense of consciousness, especially because of the colors and lightning... I love it
This song grew on me the fastest. After a couple times, that chorus hits so hard. Also loving everyone looking up what "vore" means, and then making the connection to "let's get swallowed whole."
Pretty sure he's doing his own screams, and here's a live vid. Around 1:40 he screams. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ba19cSJMihU.html
There are other videos from this show that was taken from the other angle where you can see IV, and it's visible that IV is helping with the screams where he sings "on the other side" and also "won't you show me what it's like?" Well yeah, it's probably Vessel himself on the album record, but guess we won't know for sure?
Not sure if you’re familiar but Deftones are a major influence on them. The way he screams, the clean intro verse, the dark sexual themes, very Deftonesque. Funny you should mention Norma Jean because Cory Brandan is also influenced by Chino, which you can hear more in his side project called Hundred Suns
Vessel plays every instrument but drums during recordings . This is his scream overlapped . He can scream though …. always has been able too back when he was a teenager. Worship
Have you caught the From the Room Below version of Blood Sport? It’s just Vessel and a piano. Probably their best “live” video in terms of quality, but regardless, worth going out of your way for if you haven’t heard that version yet.
This is 6 months ago... Did you listen to the rest of Sleep Token without us??? Wouldn't blame you... Strictly speaking vocal abilities, I think Vessel would give Dimash a serious run for his money. And I love both of them.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wJNbtYdr-Hg.html The summing is my personal favorite song of there's so far. I'm sure you will love this song as you will see they threw everything and the kitchen sink into one freakin song. Rock, metal, funk, eitherial, screams, falsetto, guitar solos, sexy. I mean it's a.d.d. proof lol
I suggest The Summoning by SLEEP TOKEN. A viral RU-vid SLEEP TOKEN favorite. Not my favorite but they are all pretty good. Back To Eden may actually be my favorite.
I’m not a big fan of full on scream vocals and although I like Lorna Shore, it has to be in small doses. However, the screaming here is emotive, enunciated and integrated in the song so we’ll I’m a fan… anybody else sing more this in metalcore?
If you haven't seen them, you HAVE to see Will Ramos' covers of "Hypnosis," and "Chokehold." Didn't think anyone could come close to Sleep Token, but he does them such justice.
9:31 You are correct. Vessel determines the sound of the song to tailor to the meaning behind it. He seemingly only screams when the message is extremely pissed off which makes sense why he’d scream in a song with lyrics like “Are you in pain like I am?” And “There is always something in the way.” Sounds extremely frustrating.
In the description you say you're getting a mask... I know you're probably just memeing but yo can we actually get the masks anywhere? Might go as Vessel next Halloween
@@JohnReavesLive you're welcome!! And funny how you mentioned that about the screams because usually I'm not a fan of the heavy in your face screams but I do really love the screams in this song. Maybe Alkaline, that's one of my favourites, it's a softer song though
It is actually the same Guy who sings you can See that in Life Videos from theyre concerts and it is even Morel diversed in range in the Song "the summoning"
