Everytime I watch people react I wish I could explain all the dope ass slang to them! Haha it adds to the humour of their music. Like the chorus "New Cedar, New Sweetgrass, New Sage" it's a few of our sacred medicine. Neechie means like "friend" that's why they say it all the time! So happy to see our Canadian boys gets some credit! Check out their newest song "Something Else" which pokes fun at an American poll that called Native Americans "something else" on TV, a community meme 😂 Also, these lovely boys are from Haisla nation!

I feel like I need to expand on what I said. I know there are other Native musicians in all genres. When I said zero representation, I meant like at the level of representation they deserve if we are comparing talent and content to other mainstream rap and hip hop. And that was just a bad definitive word choice since it was just from my perspective. I’m here for all of it getting more attention 🖤🖤🖤

Lol thank u for the awesome reaction u guys are so cute. We use sage and sweet grass to smudge/pray with...but also a little cute reference to weed with sweet grass. This is another super fun song. But they always use education and humor thats so real. The more we unite with all other tribes and people of color the stronger we become for one another. Dope reaction guys! So awesome to see more and more RU-vidrs reacting to their music. These 2 are from my Rez up here in BC, Canada. Yung Trybez is one of my cousins. It's a shame they don't have more videos, they have so many songs that deserve to have a music video. Now that they're having more success in the industry, they can afford to make amazing music videos, 2 of their most recent ones are 'Screaming Indian' and 'Where They At ft Drezus'. Both fire videos. I love watching you two enjoying this awesome group! One funny note: towards the beginning, you'll see one of the women chugging milk: a lot of Indigenous Americans are lactose intolerant. European colonizers brought dairy with them everywhere they colonized, but a lot of the native peoples they oppressed did not have dairy in their heritage so they lack the enzyme to digest it. Native humour is the best ❤️

Love this! Glad you both caught on and knew about some of the lyrics and our traditions! "Neechee" is a word shortened from my language, Anishinaabemowin (Ojibway) - means 'friend'. First Nations and Canada repping! :D

I cut off my braid when my older sister was murdered May 23, 23. Its a sign of upmost respect. Cutting the hair symbolizes the grieving, learning to live the next chapter of life without them. Cant touch it for a year after.

Coming from native heritage... The term Indian came from Christopher Columbus. He thought they landed in India.... Thus calling the Natives, Indian.
