Crazy you mention that because Courtney(lead singer) has some of the best clean vocals I've ever heard. She is extremely versatile. I would recommend their song Blessed Be as a good example. Great song and video

A great reaction - I’ve liked and subscribed, as I love watching people discover Spiritbox, so I’m looking forward to more of your reactions! Holy Roller was the first track of theirs which I ever heard, back in July 2020, and they’ve been my favourite band ever since. I’ll be yet another person suggesting their song Circle With Me (in particular the one-take live vocal performance by Courtney LaPlante, as it is excellent and showcases her vocal talent even more than the studio version and official music video do). Sun Killer, the opening track of their album, is also great (honestly, pretty much every track they’ve written is, but that’s just my opinion!) - there’s only a visualiser video for that one. Holy Roller was the first track they released from Eternal Blue (their first album, having previously released two EPs and the singles from those, plus two very well-received standalone singles - rightly so - Rule of Nines and Blessed Be). Eternal Blue (the album) was released 14 months after Holy Roller due to pandemic-related delays - the single got them a lot of attention - and in the interim they released 4 more singles from it. Holy Roller was described by Spiritbox as a song they wrote as a bit of a palate-cleanser from the moodier songs on the album, one in which they decided to be “ridiculously heavy”, though I wouldn’t say it’s their heaviest. It’s intentionally quite simple, musically. The video was largely self-made, due to lockdown constraints. Mike Stringer, the band’s guitarist (who is also a multi-instrumentalist and writes the instrumental music, and is married to Courtney, who writes the lyrics and her vocal melodies) shot the outdoor scenes on his phone. Courtney’s makeup for both personas was by Ashley Crook, the wife of the band’s bassist (he left on friendly terms in early 2022), and hers are the hands around Courtney’s neck. Many of the props were donated from the recent wedding of friends. Whenever I read or watch an interview with Courtney and/or Mike, I’m always struck by what lovely people they both are - thoughtful, kind and modest. Courtney is also very funny and self-deprecating. From everything I’ve seen, Spiritbox are also great live.

It definitely makes me feel like maybe “holy roller” wasn’t the song I should’ve done an initial reaction to, and now I feel like there are other things I need to check out and react to to get a proper idea of what the bands all about. Courtney the singer was born in Bangor Maine and raised in Alabama. But her hubby is from Canada and that's where they are based for now. I think they are considering moving to the us
Because my channel is rather small, I tend to try and react to bigger name things I guess it depends on what it is I don’t really have a giant platform to launch smaller vans, but dropped a suggestion and I’ll have a look at it

I don't eat meat, so one of the managers at work has been telling me for the past couple months that she makes the best pasta salad and she wanted to make it for me. So... I loaded up my plate, ready to just dig in and fill up on pasta salad. I took one bite...thank Baphy I had my phone with me and my earbuds in...I was just acting like I was watching something horrid...hand on my mouth and all...I realized no...way...could I force down one more bite...oh nay nay....I shan't. So I went to sit at the bench outside so I could throw it away conspicuously.

At their first headline show in Vancouver teen nights ago they did a cover of a No Doubt song and I think it’s way better than the original!
