I was Stevie live in Seattle 1985, I got to shake his hand he’s was a super humble guy and he loved his fans. RIP Stevie gone but not forgotten.

So cool to see younger people dig him. I saw him live April 10, 1988 and it changed my life really. I was 19 back then. Just like watching this every song was never long enough and if by some magic SRV and that audience was still there they would never want it to stop. At the end of the show people sat there with their mouths open. Saw him at a little place that held about 1500 people. I hope one hundred years from now people are still listening to his music and watching his live shows. He was a one in a billion guitar player who loved the blues and lived the blues. RIP Stevie.

This was one of those performances that profoundly altered how I feel & hear music. It's up there with Etta James at Montreux, Hendrix at Woodstock, Pink Floyd at Pompeii, etc. I started looking at guitars shortly after, bought my first stratocaster, & haven't put it down since. Stevie is just one of those artists that force you to feel the music!

A couple of things... Having seen Stevie Ray Vaughan and Doublt Trouble live several times, if you didn't leave the venue with your ears ringing, and telling your friends "That was the greatest guitar player you'd ever seen or heard", then you were too stoned or drunk to realize what you've seen. I saw him in Austin a couple times and once in Houston and he was incredible each time. To him, it seemed to be just another night on stage and it was just the level he played at all the time. So many great guitar players have called SRV the most impressive player they've ever heard. It's like a who is who of massive stars saying great things about a man who was just gone too soon... The most incredible thing I found out about him was he couldn't read or write music at all. What you hear is just coming right out of his soul. RIP Stevie...

Thank you so much for this heartfelt reaction. I was lucky enough to have spent precious little time with Stevie between 1987 and 1990. I can tell you that he was the kindest, most gentle man, who was as humble as he was talented. I will forever remember our talks, knees to knees, and his beautiful, warm brown eyes. He was much more than a musician, though he was only just beginning to see that. There are so many more amazing performances ahead for you. Please keep going! He passed away on August 27, 1990, in East Troy, Wisconsin. He was a Blues Rock guitarist, singer, producer, songwriter, and the front-man for the band Double Trouble. Although his mainstream career spanned only seven years, he is regarded as one of the most influential musicians in the history of Blues music, and one of the greatest guitarists of all time. During his musical career, he released four studio albums, one live album, and several singles. Stevie Ray Vaughan's musical style was rooted in Blues, Rock, and Jazz. He was influenced by Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Lonnie Mack, BB King, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Buddy Guy, Howlin' Wolf, Otis Rush, Guitar Slim, Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters.
