This is Classic Stevie!!! He is one of the few artists that you really can't choose 1 favorite because there are so many. He & Prince were Great friends & he had such respect for Stevie in how he ran his business in this industry & Stevie loved Prince for all he also accomplished & being true to himself and what a good person he was. Stevie also is a jokester like Prince was. He'd be behind the wheel of the car driving for real (maybe only in the driveway) but he'd freak people out! People swear (its on youtube) he can see. Great reaction! You got it!!! He just turned 70. So glad we still have this icon.🙏

You're completely right about his sense of humor. I saw him live at Jones Beach in 2008 and the show was delayed about an hour because it was raining. When Stevie finally came out on stage he said "I'm sorry for making you all wait but when I saw it was raining I didn't want to get myself electrocuted." The audience burst out laughing 🤣

Saw Stevie live in the late 70s. Besides his humor...HIS energy wore the audience out 🤣 His love and generosity to the public extended to covering for another band (that was late). After playing his own 80 minute set; he played until The Family Stone showed up (40 minutes later) albeit... leaving Sly somewhere; too wasted to perform. Stevie is a class act and did his best to save the show 🥰

He's singing about the "Big Band" era of music, particularly in the Black community where they had whole swing orchestras playing the clubs playing the dance music of the era. Started in the 1920's and went into the '50's. Some stars like Duke Ellington (Sir Duke) were legends. Count Basie, Glen Miller, Louis Armstrong, and Ella Fitzgerald are the musicians and singers of the era he's talking about.

Honey, I think everyone on the planet speaks Stevie Wonder, he's been around so long, by now he's reached every man, woman and child on the planet, and ohh God, Songs in the Key of Life, a pioneering, producion, and engineering marvel, the album was a double disc, I played it DAY AND NIGHT , EVERY DAY , even would put the huh "record player", on repeat and go to sleep with what ever side of the album I wanted playing while I slept!,, He got a Grammy for it, can't remember, maybe more than one. This album is in there with the other amazing albums that were extraordinarily produced, groups that took extra , extra care in making, The Wall, Aja, Go For Your Guns(I think the best album by the Isleys, played that too morning noon, and night!), The White album. And Stevie sounded like he had so much fun while he made it, its hard to remember while you listen to it how much professionalism he put into it. You must, YOU MUST, listen to the whole body of this work. "Loves in Need Of Love Today, Pastime Paradise, Summer Soft(beautiful and "flighty", light, and soft, and all light piano keys), Have a Little Talk With God, As(beautiful, heavy on the heart lyrics, thay one "God knew exactly where he wanted you to be placed"), Knocks Me Off My Feet, Ordinary Pain, Isn't She Lovely(about his beautiful daughter, and she's squealing and laughing on the song like that song by Aliyah from Dr. Dolittle?), just to name a few, there's no bad song on there, you may find you you like all of them, check it and see, enjoy young man, there are many jewels from the 70's, so, so many, Stevie is a genius, no joke, no lie see for yourself, enjoy, Godspeed, Peace✌

I've been enjoying your stuff all day. If nothing else just to listen to these songs. You need to do some live Grateful Dead. Best Live Band in history. Every show was different. Best sound engineers. They could make the music come from every direction. Dead Heads would follow show to show. They let people record their shows so there are volumes and volumes out. Literally hundreds of shows. I would say start with 'High Times' or 'Brokedown Palace', but every Head has their different favorites. Literally one of the most productive bands ever. You could do a song a day for a year and not get through them all. As to something more up like Nivanna, check out the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Think Funk Punk Hip Hop. May want to start with 'The Power of Equality'. 'Give it Away' is another banger. However, some of their slower songs are their best. 'Under the Bridge' or 'Breaking That Girl'. All on the same album. "Blood Sugar, Sex Magic. Can't go wrong. Noticed you like Ray Manzarek of the Doors keybord. You may want to check out Jeff Beck's 'Blues Deluxe' on his album Truth. Bad Ass pounding keyboard. Thanks for your positive message, and keep up the good work.

Sorry, but I used to live with a bunch of Greatful Dead fans and all I can say is: they play the same chords over and over. The band lacks musicality, in my opinion. They were very popular amongst some people, but probably the most boring band out there.
