Ya'll would dig "Love is a War" by these two...it goes hard...just not in the way most think. I can remember as a kid almost five decades ago now goin to a couple of revivals in the southern part of my home state (WV) where some of those snake handlers came in pickin those things up, speaking in tongues, and drinkin some nasty lookin stuff from a mason jar...And, it wasn't no "Mountain Dew" either if you get what I'm sayin. Now, I may not "believe" like some do. But, I believe that there is a "Higher Power." And, I'm damn sure not "picking up the serpent," or drinking some nasty lookin sht from a mason jar, as a test of my faith. Again, that was almost fifty years ago, and I still remember being told that those who were in charge of the "tent" revival were from Georgia (we found out later that supposedly the snakes they were using had been de-fanged, and/or had the glands that produce the neurotoxin removed...I'm no biologist, so if such was true, or even possible, I have no idea. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can testify to that or not. Also it was said that when offered to use some some "real," West Virginia pit vipers (Eastern Diamond Back, and Timber rattlesnakes, along with Copperheads), and they declined...Take that with a grain of salt, and for what it's worth. Apologies for the ratchet-jawing...it happens when one gets older lol.
