Couple things. One, i think the feeling you get as Delicate progresses has to do with how the video kind of shifts..shes goes from elated and reveling in her spell of invisibility to wishing someone would just SEE her, to walking into the "dive bar on the east side, where you at?" and smiling because HE can see the real her and it doesnt matter anymore whether everyone else can see her. (My interpretation, nobody come at me, please!) Two, i think you were made for Swiftie-hood, sir. Ive never seen someone so open mindly and resoundingly embrace Taylor (and I've watched a LOT of people find Taylor) with kindness.
Someone made a video for Invisible String a while back that showed videos of her at different times of life and videos of JA (from TV shows maybe?) from different times of life and the end of the video is the same shot as the end of the Delicate video where she finds him at the bar. It made me cry so much when I saw it - so perfect. Invisible String is probably my favorite song from folklore. I think the Arlington shows are where she first changed Invisible String to ‘the 1’ in the Eras setlist. I was disappointed she didn’t play it, but found out why in the following weeks 😢
You should do reactions to “dear John” and “ would’ve could’ve should’ve” they don’t have videos but they’re both about the same relationship written a 12 years apart and both completely devastating

Shake it off is all about finding your people. At the end(ish) of the video all the people are real life fans. Taylor found them online and invited them but didnt say why, they then got surprised by being in a music video. Dancing your dance, to the music you love with the people who get you, what an amazing thing. The video is funny and technically brilliantz but I think what we love is Taylor (and us) finding our people ❤
The fact she invited fans to be part of the Shake It Off music video and not one of them let it slip shows what high regard her fans have for her. The behind the scenes is great.
I was an old-school fan that go butt-hurt when she killed off the old Taylor, but the Delicate video is what reeled me back in. I've been recommending it for weeks. So glad he finally did it.
Whatever one says about Taylor they can't deny her authenticity. She is so funny, and self aware. Not every day traits in humans. I'm sure she isn't perfect. She doesn't even try to fake perfect. I love wysiwyg people.
Delicate's MV was so different than I was expecting! FEELING her isolation in a crowd. Yes, she has fun with it, but it was so deeply lonely in the breaths in between. I'm not crying, you're crying.😭

I've been asking for ages for breakdown/easter egg reactions. It's amazing when you see how much effort and detail is put into absolutely everything and such a shame for Luke/everyone to miss it 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Miss Americana will give you a lot of insight into Taylor personally and her process (and I definitely want to see a reaction to that) BUT also in her NPR Tiny Desk Concert she explains each song and part of what went into writing them. Plus, you’ll get to see multiple acoustic performances of songs that you have already watched live or in a music video so it’s a fun comparison to see them sort of dressed down. I know personally, I’ve fallen in love with certain songs based on a live performance and not necessarily just from hearing the album or music video versions first.
Reputation always seems to be the album that gets people in haha it's how my friend got me to listen to her, I totally didn't care for Taylor at all before. I used to think she was fake for changing her style/music genre for every cd, like??? Then I realized yeah, she can switch styles and genres like that because SHE'S THAT GOOD. And every era is so well thought out, it's not her not knowing what genre she 'belongs to', it's her creating a whole atmosphere for us to be immersed in and that's what makes her so special. I've rambled long enough, cute video as always! ♡
Did you revisit her old albums after that? I still think Speak Now is her best album. It's the only one she wrote entirely herself and has so many bangers including almost rock songs, like Haunted and Better Than Revenge.

Delicate is my favorite of Taylor’s videos because it really is an insight to how she and a lot of people feel. You can be in a room full of people and feel completely unseen and sometimes that can be freeing (especially for her I’m sure) but I also think that it can get really lonely sometimes.
Luke, what you were saying about shaking things off, since they’re only affecting you, not the person who wronged you is true. There’s an old saying that goes, holding on to a grudge is like drinking poison, expecting the other person to die. Taylor has the right advice!
I saw a clip of her behind the scenes on the Delicate video where the director asks her if she could do a split and slide down the windshield of the car...she says sure, but she might need a drink first 😄

Midnights turned me on to Taylor originally but the fans are what have made a huge Swiftie now. I wish I could afford to go to the concert but I think I will be just Taygating outside of the stadium in Miami in October ❤

"The last time" Taylor ft Gary Lightbody(from Snow Patrol) and "Everything Has Changed." Taylor ft Ed Sheeran both are truly amazing and underatted i think. I think you will greatly enjoy them

I don't know if I've mentioned this already but I'm from Alaska, I flew to Mexico to catch the Eras Tour. I actually accidentally bought tickets for 3 seats and on the wrong date so I had to buy the correct single ticket on the correct day but I was able to get my money back for the first mistake/ticket and I was able to catch the concert on the correct day. I use stubhub for everything as far as sporting events and concerts. Maybe someone can share their opinions, maybe bad experiences theyve had I'd love to hear but I haven't had anything wrong happen. I think I also used stubhub for my first Taylor concert at a jingle bell ball in Chicago in like 2015. So yeah I've been using that for a very long time.
Delicate- Joseph Kahn (Director of all her videos for 1989 & Rep) said this was his personal favorite video. There is a lot of history about Taylor & dancing- she really was a terrible dancer (and she admitted it 😂)… her dancing was really a series of awkward poses until Rep. When Rep dropped the first MV (Look What We Made You Do), Swifties jaws dropped because she did real actual choreo in it! And it was decent! Watching reactions of that video by long time Swifties back then- 9/10 yelled “OMG! Choreo!” 😂😂. She knew she about the constant criticism about her dancing (and she didn’t dispute it), so she finally got dancing lessons & there is a great video of her practicing Delicate. She has worked hard to become much better about using her body- it really showed on Rep Tour. The difference in her moves is really apparent. Once you see a lot of her early live performances you will see how stiff she was and the few regular poses she did. 😂
And her constant looking to the side to follow her dancers’ lead because she’d lose her place/confidence. Very cute once you know what to look for, but anyone who says she could do great choreo before 1989/Rep…. Are very good Stans. 😂
Wow your speech at the end of Shake it off resonated with me so much, I was deeply bullied for years all through my teenage years which has installed strong trust issues within myself. Delicate: I see it (and I could be wrong) as the note being a minor "pass" to be unseen - she was overwhelmed by always being watched, guarded, etc., and wishing for a moment to be herself without anyone noticing "Dance like no one's watching" so she gets to for a brief time. There's a couple moments of sadness, and eventually she gets to make another wish to go back, enjoy her little vacation without anyone noticing her. I found it a beautiful video (and love the song too)

You know what’s interesting is before I really listened to TS, this was probably the only song I knew of hers and I was just meh. I think in hindsight, because I had no idea how broad her range is or her endless talent, thinking this bop was indicative of all that she is and it’s so not the case. Now I have a new appreciation for the lightness and fun of this song because I know how deep and profound she can be. Does that make sense? I adore her so much.

The thing about the sort of dance choreography she did for this video is it looks so simple and carefree and it is SO INCREDIBLY HARD. If you never watched So You Think You Can Dance, well. There are some AMAZING videos showing just how hard contemporary/modern dance is.

When you rewatch Shake it Off you should check out the outtakes...I think there is one for each dance style. When you were talking about Shake it Off it made me think of something I either saw or read someone saying in an interview. It was something about how if they were talking shit about him he would pull out his phone and talk to them about it but if their number wasn't in their phone then they don't know the person well enough to have an opinion about him.
The live version of delicate is the best even though the video is awesome,Ryan Seacrest found videos of Taylor always saying shake it off about all the critics,this was about 8 years ago before this song came out,it's really cute
