It's actually a mashup of four songs: "I Shot the Sheriff" by Bob Marley, "Road to Zion" by Damian Marley, "A Little Bit of Luck" by DJ Luck & MC Neat, and "Hip Hop" by Ded Prez. Interestingly, all of the songs but "A Little Bit of Luck" relate in some way to Bob Marley.

Just an amazing performance! They followed this up with War Pigs, which is also worth watching. Ren, Romain Axisa, Gorran Kendall and Glenn the drummer are all phenomenally talented. Loved this 💜💜

Haha, you just described Romains style. He has many “just guitar” tracks. They’re amazing. I bought his latest album. Talk about a vibe. It’s great. Romain and Gorran both have their own music and style. Hopefully one day they’ll have a reunion. Their music and chemistry was next level.

Ren's explained in a few interviews now - they recorded the busking sessions with multiple mics, something special for the drums (soneone who knows the specific details will be along soon to give the info I'm sure!) and then he'd take the tracks and mix them meticulously, sometimes one note at a time, to obtain the results we now get to enjoy. Ren was already working with Samuel Perry-Falvey, who'd met him as a kid at camp (but different age group, Ren is slightly older) and been a Ren fan from the first moment he heard Ren play Freckled Angels. Sam's the guy who filmed Hi Ren, and Money Game 1 + 3, and Jenny/Screech/Violet, and lots of others all the way back to Children if the Moon. Sometimes Ren would arrange for Sam to come film him (solo or with others) busking. I can't specifically access a memory that tells me it was Sam who filmed the Red Suspenders Ren busking session; Ren also works with a couple of other videographers but I'm not sure when each came along in the chronology of it all (someone else will 100% know which videographer was involved)... but we do know Ren was actively arranging for certain busking performances to be filmed.

I believe that they recorded the drums on an iphone, but I can't remember where Ren said so. Maybe in the Charismatic Voice interview when he talked about mixing?

I'm pretty confident this was shot by Luke Flegg although possible it was Josh Stiles. 🙂 He's been working with them for quite a while too. This was shot in June 2021

Ren is not the only lead singer in The Big Push. Gorran does the more rock oriented singing and Romaine takes the lead too. Their harmonies are beautiful, try Praise You or Swan Song (one of their original sings, written by Gorran) . Their version of Buddy Guys What Kind of Woman is This is fabuloes

Eric Clapton covered this years back. Ren just has something unique about him in many ways. I heard someone liken his vocal style to "Sting". It stands out in this one. I know he references "The Police's" Roxanne in "Losing It" Great fun reaction.

Knew you'd love this one, Eddie! Awesome reaction! Not only were you chair dancing (hard not to with this one!), but you spotted how Ren was leading tge entire band, as well as killing it on the vocals & guitar! Reggae Ren is my favourite!! It was Romain Axisa on the fab guitar solo. He has his own channel, too. Some really cool stuff on there! Glen Chambers on the drums, and Gorran Kendall on the bass (he also has a solo channel). All are extremely talented. Ren does all of the sound mixing for his busking videos, by the way. 😊 Thanks, Eddie! ❤

I've seen this dozens of times and still don't get all the lyrics. I've decided with Ren to only worry abut it if it's in a "storytelling' video. Those you need every word. These ones, if you miss some it doesn't change the amazing music. Love the Big Push, thanks for doing this one.

Actually 4 songs. The ska bit is from the garage{?) song "With a Little Bit of Luck" by DJ Luck and MC Neat. On a personal level, I am sure people have pointed out to you, your likeness to the British comedian, Jo Wilkinson? Similar nose perhaps? Do you know if you are related?
