Love this group. The Hollies are a British pop rock group formed in 1962 & known for their great harmonies. They had so many great songs such as "Bus Stop", "Stop Stop Stop", "On A Carousel", "Carrie Anne", "Just One Look", "Here I Go Again", "Look Through Any Window", "King Midas In Reverse", "Jennifer Eccles", "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress" etc. "Graham Nash" was originally in this group & left in 1968 to form "Crosby, Stills & Nash".
I love this damn song so freaking much from the first time I heard it way back in the day till now it’s one of my favorite songs. The voices are angelic. The music is beautiful. It’s such a beautiful love song.
Next do their great song He ain't heavy he's my brother. All about helping your brother as in fellow human beings. Also Americans soldiers in the Vietnam war took that song to heart on the battlefield fighting with their brothers
With the Boombox, yelling in the rain. Wow that's awesome man. Something that you might find interesting about this band is these bookends right here, check out their early hit that's kind of like the Beatles but it's very short mid-60s Banger called bus stop, and then check out their early seventies Banger a number of years later, Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress, even people my age nowadays sometimes confuse it with Creedence Clearwater Revival cuz it kind of has that buy but the thing is it's a maximum early 70s rock Banger. I mean it is a banger. I swear to God you're going to grab Bertha and be fucking Waltzing around the freaking room.
3:15 I guess the internet would know, but I always heard it as peaceful and warm inside, not peaceful warm and tired. 13 rate the thing to check out right here mama is their vocal phrasing. Growing up I never saw this and I'm not sure I even want to see these guys singing this but I just heard the audio but man their vocal phrasing on this is incredible the breath control is mind-blowing. They draw these phrases out for so long. And the band Radiohead had their biggest song with a hit called creep, but unfortunately they lifted like most of this core progression right here from this band and so they had to sue them and then they won. But mainly man check out the vocal breath control in the phrasing. It's incredible.
Yeah, it's definitely "peaceful, warm, and tired". But hey, back in the day we didn't have immediate access to the lyrics, so we all got some words wrong lol And indeed, Allan Clarke is an amazing vocalist. Karen Carpenter was another from this era that could teach a master class in vocals.
@@Mystress1980There's a good chance that they sang "inside" rather than "tired" in certain venues, such as television appearances during the 60's, due to censorship.
OK SCEEZ Love the way you react , you are so real .I had a love like that ,he was a professional drummer and this song was one of his favorite ( we are from the 80.s ) he dyed from cancer and even in his last days he played this song and made love to me , he dyed shortly after that😪
Love this version; but the single best version of "The Air that I Breathe" was recorded by Phil Everly. The Hollies made their recording after hearing Everly's. No one has topped him yet. If you love this song i would love to watch your reaction to Everly doing it.
OK Sceez if you haven't heard the "He ain't heavy he's my brother " I would love x 100 to see and hear your reaction. **Warning** tears may be uncontrollably 😢
Ok, I’m swear I’m not a racist pig. But nobody and I mean NOBODY gives more honest and clear reactions than black people. I love reaction videos and you sir, are among the best!
My attitude probably comes from the stories my dad told about his fellow Marines in Viet Nam. He absolutely LOVED the proud black Marines he commanded. More guts than he could have ever imagined and saved his life several times
