The Neville Brother are great. The song I think you’re possibly thinking of is by Aaron Neville called “Hercules” or maybe “tell it like it is” probably his most famous and he does that little signature vocal thing he does. That family is just filled with amazing musicians. From The Meters to The Neville Brothers. Musical giants

The lead singer is Aaron Neville (pronounced with emphasis on Ne). You might be thinking of a song called Don't Know Much by Linda Ronstadt. She does an amazing duet with Aaron on that track. It's a beautiful love song.

My husband grew up in South Louisiana and he introduced me to the Neville Brothers music in the 80's. He had grown up seeing them live in New Orleans where they are LEGENDS. Aaron was addicted to heroin at age 16. Grew up in hardcore project housing. Finally got clean when they got a serious record deal when Aaron was about 40 years old. He's in his 80's now and if ever a person earned his fame, it's Aaron Neville.

Polo, the song you are remembering is 'Tell It Like It Is" from 1966 sung by Aaron Neville (Nev-vil). The backing musicians were not these guys, but studio cats. So very glad that you like this track ... I grew up in New Orleans with this music being played in clubs, concerts and on the radio.

@@kenwilmarth68 I know, and it wasn't meant as a dig at him i any way. I just find it funny, like when he reacted to Sultans of Swing yesterday or all the other bands he's discovered for the first time. It's fun to see him hear songs I've heard a million times before for the first time.

Neville Brothers are NOLA Music Royalty! Aaron has the sweet voice and won a few grammys on his own. The Nevilles closed out every Jazz Fest every year until Katrina. The whole family VERY talented artists and played on many albums of others. I recommend Fyou on the Byou! You many be thinking of " Tell it Like It is". Aaron's first big hit. He also won a grammy on his album with Linda Rondstat. My favotite song of Aaron's is Arrianne. You would enjoy that . I grew up hearing these guys live just about monthly for many years. Aaron and Cyril are I believe the only 2 still living.

Do yourself, and us, a favor. Make a point of listening to as many songs on this album (Yellow Moon) as you can. It is a gem. Then, dive into the other New Orleans bands from that time period. It’s a whole sub-genre you haven’t even touched yet. Knowing your tastes, it’ll be funky-ass rabbit hole you are sure to enjoy.

New Orleans, from before the turn of the LAST century, is an integral, wonderful, and under-appreciated foundation of American music. Cheers that the Neville's are an introduction. The whole N'awlins story is a beautiful education.

If you enjoy Aaton Neville and the Neville brothers, I suggest checking out musicians from Louisiana. We have a lot of issues, but music is our strength. We all grow up listening to every genre of music. Most musicians can't be put into one category. It makes for very interesting musi. The Neville Brothers (all of them, together and individually) are like royalty in Louisiana. ☮️❤️

The Neville Brothers have quite a few great songs. And Aaron (singer) had a very successful solo career. Great reaction. One note: Neville is pronounced "NevL". Only 2 syllables. The i is silent. At the beginning of the video entitled - "Aaron Neville Reflects on His Music Career" he introduces himself. You can hear the pronunciation from the man himself.
