He just turned 83 years old yesterday (6/7/22). His voice is still so powerful today. because he never really stopped singing! Such a joy to listen to!
This man can really sing. During an interview, on dutch tv, the man asked Tom if he could sing a few lines from his new single. So Tom did, the guy allmost fell trough the wall 🤣🤣 Tom Jones has VOLUME!!. Great singer, naturel talent. Thanks guys. 👊👊❤
Tom is definitely one of the greatest singers ever, this song to me is one of the greatest also. He's 82, still performing. May be a judge on the Voice UK yet. He retained 90 % of his voice its said. The best of the best.
No autotune, just pure strength and power of a great vocal talent. Sir Tom Jones has worked with so many great and legendary artists throughout his career and is still performing today in his eighties, he is also a much respected coach on the voice uk.
Tom Jones was great as usual, what was alarming was observing the girl who was emotionless as to what to say. I guess not everyone can be moved by his magical voice.
I always describe Tom Jones voice as being *powerful and evocative.* He evokes feelings. It's like his notes reach inside you, like David Gilmour's guitar solo from *Comfortably Numb.* The notes act like some kind of siren call, pulling all of our own versions of those kinds of emotional experiences forward in our souls. It's a kind of genius few singers have. To hit our 'feels' that hard.
Yes, that's half of what they were searching for, the other half is something like his voice is very resonant, or another way to say it is that his range would be classified as a baritone.
Sir Tom Jones is a legend, the best ever male vocalist, his power, range, emotion and tone is second to none, the whole package in fact. It’s why he was knighted by the Queen due to his 40 years in the music business, a true icon. Even now in his 80’s his voice is still amazing. Unlike singers today that have to use auto tune, Tom’s voice was the real deal, so naturally gifted and talented.
i've seen alot of people react to this it's usually the first tom jones song they start with(after they realise they've heard him on the fresh prince)what i love is quite alot say if i hadn't seen him i would have thought he was black.someone has even done a compalation of people reacting to this. this was written by skiffel musician lonnie donagon who tom new.tom is a judge on the voice uk and lonnie's son peter came on and they ended up doing this song as a duet.tom now in his 80's still got it.
Hi! And thx! Tom Jones is a tenor voice. These are a few of the vocal ranges that musicians call: bass, baritone, tenor, mezzo-soprano, countertenor, and soprano. He can sing bass up to soprano, but his comfort is tenor. Amazing song!
He & Elvis were friends, especially during the years they were both doing Vegas shows. Can you imagine the two of them sitting around together & maybe singing a little duet for fun? Elvis & James Brown used to play piano & sing Gospel together for hours. I bet Elvis & Sir Tom broke out in song together too. Oh, to be a fly on the wall. Check out Tom's song "Burning Hell"..the live performance he did on Letterman's show several years ago. Great low-down Blues. 💙☮💙
You should fast forward 50 years and Sir Tom who's just turned 82 on 7th June sounds exactly the same, he sang some of the song with the son of the person who wrote it on The Voice UK about three years ago, and live in his concerts which he started again last year
The gentleman that wrote this song and gave it to Tom, his son went on the voice which Tom turned his chair. They performed it together. You can look it up
I love that at 3:14 you can hear a breathe right before the "cried" line, that sharp little intake "is" that pain when "it" ends. Any end to a relationship is tough, breakups (good or bad) widow/widowed it is rough, but that breath was almost like a sob.
I saw Tom Jones in 1969 in person at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles! We were visiting family in LA, the concert was sold out but I had an uncle who had some connections. I was 20 years old, my very first live concert what away to start enjoying great music. Two hour concert and every song was better than the one before. An amazing voice and performer😮
Someone mentioned that Sir Tom Jones who just turned 82 couple days ago is one of the judges for The Voice: UK. One of the contestants few years ago is the son of songwriter who written this classic song for Tom Jones. Songwriter was Lonnie Donegan. His son, Peter was the contestant singing that song. Tom turned his chair around then sing this song with Peter as his mom, Lonnie's widow looked on happy and tears!
Oh Tom played all the time when my daddy would come of the truck . Momma and daddy would dance to this and many more of his songs . My Aunts threw their panties on the stage when they went and seen him in Vegas lol gotta love my Old Hags lol . Sir Tom is still performing at the age of 83. He’s also a judge on the the UK Voice check him out more guys
I think the word you’re looking for is that his voice is full, his low notes and high notes alike, he’s got a beautiful strong round fullness to his voice. From the chest, his voice fills the room no matter what tone or key he’s singing in.
His voice is something else. The live version of 'A boy from Nowhere' is fantastic and you should check it out, or for more cheekiness and dancing look for his live rendition of 'Love Machine'! Tom is a legend.
He’s by far one of the Greatest soulful powerhouse voices of the era around frank sinatra , Dean Martin, Shirley bassey etc one the greatest British/ Welsh 🏴 singers of all time! 💯🤌🏼
It's not so much "loud" but volume and the ability to project his voice forward. Wonderful use of his vibrato, I would love to have all those elements plus the breath control needed to do them. Wow, just wow Sir Tom.
He's had several come backs.. or recreations.. my favorite song it "you can keep your hat on" cover. But he had a tV show.. and many singers came on it.. he sang a great song with Janis Joplin... check it out.
LMAO!!!!🤣😂 You're girl's face as soon as Tom hit the first high note is priceless cuz she was tyin to hold it back.😅 Dude was a crooner, so my G'ma tells me
And I first thought, wow, my nan was 7 in 1907 ... shortly followed by, hey! I was older than 7 then!! I'm older than your nan! Ah well. Just recognise, once you reach adulthood, you more or less feel the same as the years go faster and faster by. It's life. 😊
