There is no "easing in" to a Tom MacDonald song. There are occasional exceptions - Cancer, Castles, Fighter, among others - but "fast and hard" is how he does it. There is a destructive cycle where it makes the most sense for a company to locate itself in a strategic place with the best access to goods and services, which makes more companies locate to the same place, and the jobs in that area multiply which attracts people, but the more people there are in one spot the less able those people are to form the bonds of community, the less able they are to enforce social norms and traditions, the less you trust the people you encounter during your day, etc. These big urban areas attract the most amount of people which creates the least amount of shared bonds between them, which causes them to rely on government instead of neighbors, which increases power to government, which uses that power to dumb the citizenry down to keep them easy to control. These worker drones are also useful to the companies to exploit as wage slaves. There's a reason why the more urban area a place is, the more heavily it votes Democrat, and why these large Democrat cities are centers of crime and alienation.
