Nice! Trivium is another great band. "Beyond Oblivion" is one of my favorites... the whole "Sin and the Sentence" is quite good TBH. I like how they mix up the style. Cleans, screams, melodic, fast, slow, hard core, mellow... they do it all- in the same song.
Yeah should definitely check out some Shogun and the new record material. "Torn Between Scylla & Charybdis" would be my pick off of Shogun. Catastrophist is a cool track off the new record but in truth they're all great tunes.
I'm worried if he does anything from Silence in the Snow or The Sin and the Sentence next. The songs sound good, but they're not really music that gets reactors hooked, usually. If they do songs from those albums, they almost always move on quickly after 4 or 5 songs and then Trivium is out of rotation. If they do Ascendancy and Shogun songs, they tend to get hooked. I think the difference is while those new albums are catchy and well constructed, they're not life changing and mindblowing and memorable in most aspects, the lyrics and solos are less important, and there's not any boundaries being pushed. It's rough when newcomers to the band push the new stuff without considering whether it will have an interesting reaction or just a good reaction.
The issue also is that people like to react to music videos. Most bands best songs don't have music videos. As far as anything shogun, ascendancy, TSATS, WTDS or in waves possibly ETI album i think he would like.
Now I prefer slightly older trivium. But this is a banger. If you wanna head further down this rabbit hole. A gunshot to the head of trepidation, dying in your arms, the anthem (we are the fire) or acsendency are all pretty old school trivium.
At this point I think In Waves classes as ‘older Trivium’ as came out in 2011 (think they started in 2001?), saw them on both legs of the tour for it. At the barrier for the first one, holy moly that crush when they hit the stage! Gunshot is one they seem to always play live.
You'll be happy to hear that the singing, lead screaming and rhythm guitar are all the same guy, Matt is a beast - also I recommend just about anything from the Shogun album, though my favorites there are Throes of Perdition, Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis, Shogun and Kirisute Gomen
Tbh, I think Matt has better leads than Corey. Corey plays super fast and flawlessly, but Matt does too with more memorable melodic choices. I can tell his solos apart easier.
Chris Meadows I think starting with in waves Matt went as he put it the classic dad rock route and left the tasteful shredding to Corey, love them both though!!!

You’ve opened up a box that I hope never closes. Trivium is a band that has never disappointed me, live or on record. Their newest (released in April) is a masterpiece. Surpassed only by their 2008/9 effort, “Shogun”. One of my top ten favorite bands since I first heard them, they are simply amazing! “In Waves” is a favorite, but, I can’t recommend another few specifically, because they’re all just too damn good!
Fun Fact: Matthew Kiichichaos Heafy (Trivium vocalist) does an acoustic Unleash The Archers cover. He brings another side of the song out with his texture to the song.
Trivium has so many great songs to choose from it’s hard to to decide, I’d say you would LOVE becoming the dragon, also the second guitar solo was Matt heafy’s solo
Check out "The Crusade" it's probably the most intricate & dynamic song in their entire discography. They have waaay too many amazing songs but this one in particular is an instrumental & showcases everything they've ever done all in one song
The rhythm guitarist is a guy called matt heafy. He's also the lead vocalist of the band with core ond lead guitar sometimes helping with the screaming parts live, and Paulo on bass does the high vocal harmonies. Would love to hear you react to some of their later stuff. They recently came out with a new album called "what the dead men say" and the title track of that album is killer.
Trivium are an awesome band ,the sound of all their albums is slightly different, Matt the lead singer is very active on twitch and RU-vid. Pick any song and it will be amazing.

You like being taken on a journey and well constructed songs. Please please do the song Shogun next. Many of their songs are good, that's one of the few I'd put in masterpiece category.
It's really hard recommend another Trivium's music, because I really love almost all of them kkk Anyway.. you should take a look on The Sin and the sentence official video.. it's very well produced and the music is really nice!
